  1. Yeah mate the same from mr turbo has a 0.7 front cover a 66mm wheel flapper mod from 20mm to 38mm and a turbosmart actuator set at 12psi From what I've been told the can handle 30psi and have seen cars tuned to 480rwkw on pump. Will wait and see how it goes
  2. So the engine is complete and ready to go back in. here's a little before and after specs of the head after some head work.

    In Or Not?

Hi mate My beast is parked next to yours at RDP with similar goals. Let me know how yours goes.
  4. I think he does free shipping to capital cities as well
  5. He is in Gaven near the Gold Coast Here is his website www.mtaturbo.com
  6. I'd give MTQ a call they did my turbo up to 35/82 spec new bearing system flapper mod from 20mm to 38mm with turbo smart actuator and new 0.7 front housing for $1795. They were great to deal with and are throughly recommended by a lot of people. Will will need to change the cold side setup and retune but will easily see 400rwkw with the right setup
  7. Hahahaha. Not exactly mate. The budget got blown to pieces. The motor is now fully rebuilt with a lot of atomic gear the turbo has been spec'd up to a gt35/82r the gearbox is getting sent to Monsta Torque and the tailshaft is getting strengthened. Rough estimate is around $25,000 the original plan was a bottom end rebuild for $5,000 oh well
  8. And thanks to a certain someone a new exhaust :sungum:
  9. DDDDDRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLL
  10. Update time. So the beast is at real dyno and lee and the boys have started working things out. The gearbox is on its way to Monsta Torque to weave their magic and replace the convertor which should take about a week. By the time the gearbox is back the engine will be ready too. Have decided to use a process west plenum and fuel rail as well as their surge tank with a twin 044 setup. The tailshaft is now at hardy spicers to get strengthened. Will be going to a 2000id injector as it going to be easier to tune with according to lee. Fun times ahead Not sure if it will hit the magic 500 number on pump more likely about 470 but then there is always the E85 tune hehe
  11. Mate go to MTQ aka Mr Turbo he is in Gaven which is near the smith st off ramp on way to GC he rebuilds your turbo and puts a new front housing waste gate mod and new bearing setup. He did mine and have not had it on the car yet but have only heard good things about him. It cost me $1799 but is best value if staying with original manifold and can handle up to 30psi and produce up to 480rwkw. Tell him what has happened so he knows the whole story. With the valve problem ring Lee at Real dyno performance he is pretty much the guru for these cars
  12. Yeah mate he is. I'm going to change a few bits like the plenum and fuel rail to process west items as well as the garnish and battery relocation. Will be speaking to lee on Wednesday when I drop the car off. Might look at doing the talishaft too.
  13. So another update. Next week the car is going to Real dyno performance because the current shop it's at is swamp and not able to finish the job till February. Once there the gearbox is getting shipped off to Monsta Torque in WA thanks to the advice from JET where it's getting strengthened and new stall convertor.
  14. Hi guys So being thinking of different number plate ideas and come up with a few What's people's opinion all will be on the FPV logo background 1) 131FPV 2) 578LKR 3) MON578 4) 91OHP hehe
  15. Thanks mate also looking at going to a aeromotive a1000 instead of the Bosch 044
  16. So the Car got dropped off at RPM dyno and talked to Peter about the goals of the job. I also picked the turbo from Mr Turbo after they weaved their magic. Pete reckons that hopefully the car should be ready by xmas just depends on how much other work comes through his shop and may take till mid January which is fine with me at least I know it wont be rushed. With the extra time I now should be able to send the gearbox to CMS in Sydney to get the Stage 2 kit and Convertor for it. Also look at gojng to a second Bosch 044 and possibly second fuel line just to keep the beast in check Happy Days at the moment
  17. Yeah I read on another forum of a xr with a tricked ZF had the original turbo with just the front casing change and ran a high 9 sec pass. The main problem I have is I work in Canberra and the car is sitting at my folks place who are renting their house out while they go overseas for 2 months so the car has to be moved. I would love to go the big turbo setup but not sure if the guy putting it back together and tuning would allow the car to sit at their workshop for a extended amount of time while I get the money to do the big upgrade. Has anyone here had experience with their tuners allowing them to leave their car with them ? I would need 2 months to save up the money for the big upgrade.
  18. With the turbo setup I've come to the decision of using the standard turbo with the MTQ upgrade which they told me have had similar setups running 480kw with ease. Reason for going that path is, to go a new turbo setup I'll will need new turbo, manifold, wastegate, dump pipe, second fuel pump. Sadly that sorta cash is going to take abit to obtain so I'll be quite happy with a 450kw weapon. Until next year when hopefully I'll be in the 500 club
  19. The turbo setup I was going to use is no longer available so looking at going with a precision PT6766 and a 6boost T51 dual pulse manifold. And a Tial wastegate
  20. I'd like too but it's a time critical thing my car has to be out of where it's sitting by 12th of October
  21. Thanks mate I saw your dyno run on YouTube NOW THAT'S IMPRESSIVE !!!!!!! Im just doing the gears. My engine builder is taking a new housing a doing the relief mod but not as much as atomic do.
  22. I spoke with lee but the main problem is I will be away with work for about 6 weeks and so need a shop that will look after the car while I'm gone. Lee said they don't have the room at the moment.
  23. Peter at RPM dyno at morayfield he was recommended by the engine builder and looking at his website shows he knows business with cars prepped by him coming fourth at Bathurst 24 enduro. I'll speak to him next week with regards to the box and tailshaft
  24. I'm just looking for something that drives nice yet can run a 10 sec if setup right Qik1 what fuel system do you use ie pumps The car ran a 12.5 with the stuffed piston so a 10.5 with the proper setup should be achievable
  25. I had not thought about the fuel system and thought the 044 and surge would be ok for now. I might have to only tune it to about 420kw's at first until I get the box work done and tail shaft and then maybe look at a second pump like the process west one
