  1. ooops, I obviously just wasnt paying attention. Thanks for pointing that out
  2. does no one know anything about the bellhousing pattern? before I pursue anything any further I have to know that. I have contacted Atomic and dragonslair with no answer from them about compatibility to my available US transmissions
  3. I am not worried about my trans not being able to handle the power. I dont know how it is down there but the 4r70 can be built to handle well over 1,000 rwhp and same for torque. my current trans is a race spec build with almost double the number of clutches and steels, trans brake valvebody, custom built pump assembly, billet stub shaft and etc. my main concern is the bellhousing pattern... I can get a 4r70w case with either the 3.8/302/351w pattern or the modular 4.6/5.4 pattern. I will not run a turbo 400! they are GREAT transmissions but I wont do it to my car when I have so much in my trans setup already. sooo.... does it share a pattern with any of the V8's or is it by itself?
  4. What bellhousing pattern does it have, or share with? I run a 4R70W transmission with a 9.5" 3,600 stall....is there any chance it can be retained with this engine?
  5. here is what the car looks like now. these cars come with an oddball 5x4 1/4 bolt pattern and only IRS. No one makes a form of a kit for the rear suspension. the whole rear end build took me about 4 months to build and consists of mostly competition engineering suspension components.
  6. My name is Brandon and I am a die hard Thunderbird SC builder/owner. I have made a comfortable living off of building them here in the s.e. us and am always pursuing new ways of making more power. I joined this site because I have always had an interest in the XR6 turbo 4.0 engine and have lots of questions, especially in regards to obtaining one for my race car. My current setup is a 3.8 V6 (essex) the thunderbird sc was the only ford V6 (essex platform) to receive a factory forged crankshaft due to the added stress from the roots supercharger. long story short..... it is THE STRONGEST out of them all there are a few of us pushing over 800 rwhp, I dont know what that equals in kw. My build consists of: wiesco forged pistons 9.5:1 cr scat 5.956 h-beam rods com cams custom grind > lift .596I/.585E> duration @.050 230*I/236*E> lca 113* fully ported/ large valve heads Borgwarner S400sx3-75 turbo tial 44mm wastegate precision bov custom sheetmetal upper intake with a 85mm t/b custom hot side 120lb injectors 31x11x4 1/2 fmic 3" intercooler piping etc. the car is tubbed in the rear with a ladderbar/coilover setup for 1/4 mile I believe that I have reached my limit with the engine and would really like to swap one of the XR6 engines in if I can even get one of course. the 3.8 shares the same bellhousing as the sbf V8's any info would be helpful
