Gtx3582 495Rwkw, Can't Hold Higher Than 18Psi
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Turbo Workshop
The motors built, has a big fuel system and plenum etc etc. Everything I listed was all I could think that was relevant. My tuner believes that 3 1/2 should suffice -
Recently upgraded from the standard 35/40 to a GTX3582, I've got all supporting mods: 1000hp Plazmaman intercooler 4 inch intake, 3 1/2 dump with separate 1/2 wastegate pipe into gutted 3 1/2 cat and exhaust Plazmaman hot side piping Either a 10 or 12 psi actuator (I don't remember which one). The turbo spools and generates 25psi easy, but drops straight down to 18psi and stays there. Before gutting the cat it did the same as above but only sustained 17psi and 491kw rather than the 18psi and 495 now. My tuner believes I may be lifting the head slightly But others believe the actuator is too weak. Any info would be appreciated

Somehow I dont think that Tafe's dyno would be terribly innacurate. How much power did your car read on your dyno? -

The lecturers wouldn't let anybody sit in the boot because they knew just how lively she was gonna be. This was just a quick power run after class, so we didn't bother setting it up properly. The tune was literally a week old so I was confident about the mixtures and such. Pulled just under 1250Nm of torque -
Hey guys, I've been in the 400+ club for a while now (Since February) but have recently had a new tune taking me up to 434.12 on the Tafe Dyno. Both Heinrich and my lecturer say my XR is capable of 450+ but they can't get hold her down to get the numbers haha. Here's a list of my mods followed by my dyno video. I have a complete xforce system. 3 1/2" dump with separate 1/2" wastegate pipe, 3 1/2" cat and twin 2 1/2 cat back making 411rwkw on e85. Sounds amazing and goes hard, but I'm looking to upgrade to a single 3 1/2 cat back.

Popping My Surge Tank!

Popping My Surge Tank!
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
There is another thing I noticed prior to my welds popping... When I filled it to the brim, it would dump a heap of fuel from somewhere around the diff. Could this be related? It doesn't always pop welds on a full tank, but always does leak. -

But going backk to my original post, the last time (only time I remember) it happened AFTER I filled tobthe brim. Prior to that, I've been idling, boosting and driving around for weeks unaffected? -
Popping My Surge Tank!
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
The check valve is a one way valve, yes? Which means it will stop fuel flowing back into the 044s, thus not going back into the tank? -

The 044s have a check valve on them, there shouldn't be any difference from the pressure reg? -
Popping My Surge Tank!
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
Rail returns to the surge tank. Dr bolt makes plenty of surge tanks, fuel tanks, drop tanks etc. He is no stranger to the game. I dont have the money to be buying another surge tank, and I need mine back before Friday. He has the tank at the moment repairing it, again. So I can't measure it. The last time I got it back I did a pressure test and it was at 28psi at the return hose on the sender unit. -
Hey guys. First I wanna thank the guys that helped me out with my E85 questions. Im making 411rwkw on 20psi running dedicated e85 through 2000cc injectors(they're too big, I'm working on going to 1000s). But I seem to be popping the welds on my surge tank. This is the third time its happened. The tank has been made by Dr Bolt here in Adelaide, and I'm confident in his workmanship. Im lead to believe that it happens only when I fill my main tank to the brim. I have 2x 044s feeding the fuel rail, a 265L/h feeding the surge tank and brand new 3/8 lines the whole way through the car. I can guarantee there is no restriction in the fuel system anywhere. Ive been told that falcons will only support round surge tanks, but I think that's a load of crap... Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts?

Ba Fairmont 450Hp :d
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Force-fairmont's topic in Ford 4.0L N/A Discussion
Everyone is missing the point here... Yes a XRT would be the smarter idea... But I'f you're set on mods for your car, Id look at doing injectors, fuel pump, plenum, and nos. A turbo conversion wouldnt go astray when youre off your ps... But you should look into this a bit further.. im not sure on the laws anywhere else, but in SA the p player power restriction laws also ban performance upgrades (extractors are included). Might as well turbo it now -
Doesn't surprise me, xforce is terrible quality in comparison to most... We get a lot of people come through work with systems they've bought and want us to fit. They don't line up very well.. I have an xforce system on my car... And there are almost more leaks than welds

Do F6 Brembos Bolt Straight On To Standard Ba/bf Hubs?
Jesse Williams_49219 posted a topic in Brakes
Excuse my ignorance, but I've searched high and low and couldnt find any topics answering my question. Knowing how tight Ford are from the factory, I'd presume the Brembos would bolt straight up. But logic says otherwise.. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried bolting a factory kit on, and what's involved? Cheers. -

would the rail and reg not be a good idea now whilst I have everything apart and can afford it? -
E85 Conversion For A Noob
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
tuning and block work is already budgeted. pump gears and valve springs are already bought. blueprint grinding the crank also. im aware that after this build the turbo is the next step, but I cant afford that this time round. I was told the pressure reg is a necessity cause the factory reg has an internal filter and the e85 would clean the existing fuel lines so well that the gunk would clog up said filter. -
E85 Conversion For A Noob
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
my current setup is 347.66rwkw.. im putting the plazmaman inlet plenum and forged pistons/rods. Jim Mock motorsport advised me to do the fuel system when I started talking about high flow exhaust manifolds. im aiming for 400+ but I dont want to replace anything I dont have to later on -
E85 Conversion For A Noob
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Fuel System & Induction Workshop
I dont actually have a target power. I was just hoping to get as much as I can for the budget I had. I did a bit of looking around after posting this and found that the Plazmaman surg tank was probably the best option. It comes with the tank, 2 pumps and a neat mounting bracket. My question now is if the walbro 260l/h will be sufficient to fill the tank and whether I should run the single feed fuel rail, the twin feed rail or just keep the standard one? -
Hey guys. I've recently started doing a build on my BF2 XR6 Turbo and im looking at finishing my budget off with an E85 conversion. Now, many people have told me different stories and suggestions.. The main one being that I need to use 2000cc injectors, 2x 044 fuel pumps and an external fuel pressure regulator.. Im presuming that I need to run a swirl pot/surge tank aswell. I already have a walbro 260l/h pump and 650cc injectors, but this was to run 98 octane. My first question... is what is the difference between the two? Second question, I've been looking at a swirl pot from Pac Performance (http://shop.pacperformance.com.au/pc-122-50-surge-tanks.aspx). Do you think that this will suffice? if not, why? Third question, Is it worth buying and running a Plazmaman fuel rail with twin entry, and run two new fuel lines the whole way through the car? or keep the factory rail and merge the two pumps to a single line? Fourth question, Will my current pump work well enough to supply the tank/pot with the fuel? or is there something else im missing? Any other information on running this sorta setup would be highly appreciated.. Being a second year apprentice I have limited knowledge, but great learning... Trying to takes everyones opinion onboard at once is kinda painful, lol

I have bought a Plazmaman Intercooler Kit which came with an under battery CAI. this spool sounds like iys about to devour small children
