Gtx3582 495Rwkw, Can't Hold Higher Than 18Psi
Jesse Williams_49219 replied to Jesse Williams_49219's topic in Turbo Workshop
The motors built, has a big fuel system and plenum etc etc. Everything I listed was all I could think that was relevant. My tuner believes that 3 1/2 should suffice -
Recently upgraded from the standard 35/40 to a GTX3582, I've got all supporting mods: 1000hp Plazmaman intercooler 4 inch intake, 3 1/2 dump with separate 1/2 wastegate pipe into gutted 3 1/2 cat and exhaust Plazmaman hot side piping Either a 10 or 12 psi actuator (I don't remember which one). The turbo spools and generates 25psi easy, but drops straight down to 18psi and stays there. Before gutting the cat it did the same as above but only sustained 17psi and 491kw rather than the 18psi and 495 now. My tuner believes I may be lifting the head slightly But others believe the actuator is too weak. Any info would be appreciated

Somehow I dont think that Tafe's dyno would be terribly innacurate. How much power did your car read on your dyno? -

The lecturers wouldn't let anybody sit in the boot because they knew just how lively she was gonna be. This was just a quick power run after class, so we didn't bother setting it up properly. The tune was literally a week old so I was confident about the mixtures and such. Pulled just under 1250Nm of torque -
Hey guys, I've been in the 400+ club for a while now (Since February) but have recently had a new tune taking me up to 434.12 on the Tafe Dyno. Both Heinrich and my lecturer say my XR is capable of 450+ but they can't get hold her down to get the numbers haha. Here's a list of my mods followed by my dyno video. I have a complete xforce system. 3 1/2" dump with separate 1/2" wastegate pipe, 3 1/2" cat and twin 2 1/2 cat back making 411rwkw on e85. Sounds amazing and goes hard, but I'm looking to upgrade to a single 3 1/2 cat back.

There is another thing I noticed prior to my welds popping... When I filled it to the brim, it would dump a heap of fuel from somewhere around the diff. Could this be related? It doesn't always pop welds on a full tank, but always does leak. -

But going backk to my original post, the last time (only time I remember) it happened AFTER I filled tobthe brim. Prior to that, I've been idling, boosting and driving around for weeks unaffected? -

The check valve is a one way valve, yes? Which means it will stop fuel flowing back into the 044s, thus not going back into the tank? -

The 044s have a check valve on them, there shouldn't be any difference from the pressure reg? -

Rail returns to the surge tank. Dr bolt makes plenty of surge tanks, fuel tanks, drop tanks etc. He is no stranger to the game. I dont have the money to be buying another surge tank, and I need mine back before Friday. He has the tank at the moment repairing it, again. So I can't measure it. The last time I got it back I did a pressure test and it was at 28psi at the return hose on the sender unit. -
Hey guys. First I wanna thank the guys that helped me out with my E85 questions. Im making 411rwkw on 20psi running dedicated e85 through 2000cc injectors(they're too big, I'm working on going to 1000s). But I seem to be popping the welds on my surge tank. This is the third time its happened. The tank has been made by Dr Bolt here in Adelaide, and I'm confident in his workmanship. Im lead to believe that it happens only when I fill my main tank to the brim. I have 2x 044s feeding the fuel rail, a 265L/h feeding the surge tank and brand new 3/8 lines the whole way through the car. I can guarantee there is no restriction in the fuel system anywhere. Ive been told that falcons will only support round surge tanks, but I think that's a load of crap... Any ideas, suggestions or thoughts?
