Yes there is a downside to lowering a fg ute,the pinion angle causes the cvs in the tailshaft to die regularly! tailshafts aint cheap either. If it wasnt for that issue id probably lower mine.

I have a 2012 fg turbo ute,manual. The gearbox and driveline is noisy, sloppy and just generally crap,im on the third diff under warranty,never done a skid or dropped the clutch.If I had my time again I would have gotten a Expensive Daewoo ute or the auto version of the turbo,fords manuals are bloody shocking and heaps slower than an auto turbo,my ute gets real bad axle tramp also. Dont get a manual ford ute! If you plan to modify it get a ford if you want to keep it stock get a v8 holden.

The ute has been going good lately and ford said there is nothing wrong,got the oil and filter done at 5000 and they plugged it in and its fine.No whistling to be heard so I guess I must just be used to the power now :cry:I checked the pipes in the engine bay and they were fine but couldnt be stuffed pulling the front bar off to check the other pipes. Its a hard one because I cant really tell them I had it at the drags anyhow it seems to be fine and no more trips down the strip for me. So I may just do the diff bush and be done with it....

Had the ute in at ford today and bugger me he said it was the diff bush,who would have known :snooks:

Bog stocker manual 13.8 though im not real flash at gearchanges maybe a 13.7 would be possible,wont be taking it back to better that time because of the axle tramp and weak axles unfortunately.

It only whistled the one time at the drags and hasnt done it since. Mind you I havent driven it as hard since then but it doesnt seem to be there now. I just found it weird to hear this really loudly and then not anymore after that. Im not sure what is meant by the diff bush,it has a bent axle and I can tell by the squeaking left side brake which wasnt there before the drags.The only bushes on a live axle falcon ute that I know of are the spring saddles.

Yep bent axle,they are about as strong as a stick of licorice.

Hows it goin,took my 2012 turbo ute to the drags the other day and had a weird issue on my last pass. I think it started at the end of second gear(manual) where the motor started to whistle really loudly but being over excited I kept it pegged through to 4th gear when I crossed the finish line while it was still whistling really loudly until I backed off,I pullled up at the end of the track to check I hadnt split a pipe or something had popped off but nothing looked out of place. Now the ute doesnt seem to go as well,almost like it comes on boost a bit later than it used to and just feels slower. Also got bad axle tramp in first gear and bent an axle on that pass(piss weak axles)! It hasnt whistled anymore and ive rechecked the pipework and nothing has come off or come loose and doesnt seem to be split. Pretty spewin because ive always taken it pretty easy on my ute and the one time I get up it,it bloody lets me down and its only done 5000km. Any ideas what ive done? Cheers

I just purchased a xr8 bonnet from a place in perth called "alpha auto parts" its to go on my 2012 turbo ute. Cost 380. Going to cost 500 to paint it,was going to be 500 to get it wrapped .Im just going with the stock edge colour to keep it factory looking.

The new tonneau without holes is 450 from ford.

Yeah we got the ute new through range ford and it had a scratch on the bodywork,gouge on the console(replaced under warranty),was filthy dirty,had oil and crap on the rocker cover and just looked like poo for a brand spankers car.So me and the missus raped them for free stuff,we also got front mud spats ,and water proof seat covers. When we went to pick the ute up after complaining we told them not to fit any of the free stuff and they had fitted it all(stupid) once the free tonneau arrived,I got home to fit it and it was the wrong one! They got the correct tonneau in and when I went to fit it the damn thing was already ripped,omfg.So yeah we got lots of free stuff,mud spats,seat covers,floor mats,dash mat,tonneau, pretty much every accessory. All the free stuff was from range ford. I think the ute looks better without the sports bar and a free tonneau cover. Picked the ute up yesterday from macinerneys and its all good,they even called the missus to see if everythings ok today. Now that's what I call service. Big thumbs up to macinerney ford in belmont. Just teething problems and I shall move on. Cheers

Well my fg turbo ute has done just under 1500km and the diff is kactus,drops heaps of oil and its currently in getting the complete diff replaced by macinerney ford here in perth. They have been awesome about it and gave us a free hire car, turns out the diff housing is porous so it wont hold oil. A bit spewin because I havent even given it a hard time yet,havent even been near the redline. Wouldnt call it a lemon although it does seem we get all the crap luck with cars(geez ive never heard of that happenng before) is what we usually get. Hope there is no more issues So if your in perth go to macinerneys in belmont because they are great to deal with,dont go to range ford because they are retarded. Mind you we got treated like crap from range ford so we got a free dash mat,floor mats and a tonneau cover because they suck so bad :sungum: Cheers

Yeah my stock turbo ute does it from new also,its done less than 1000km and when you accelerate in first gear it gets axle tramp,also in the wet when it loses traction.Id be interested to find out a warranty safe fix that will stop the tramp.I dont thrash it by any means being new but id like to be able to accelerate without the tyres bouncing through the wellbody and enjoy the 270 kw ford gave my ute.
