G'day All, Just picked up a 2009 FG XR6T Ute Manual in Ego. Immediately loving it! For a factory vehicle it flies, and with DSC off, does some nice burnouts! Will keep it stock for a few months but already looking at the brakes, they really are a weak point! Anyway loving this forum! Found it years ago when XR6Ts got my interest but I couldn't justify (afford) one! Cheers
  2. Thanks for that, I will give them a call. I am not so much worried about the warranty but more about upsetting the ABS, DSC etc due to changing the diameter of the rotors from standard, does it still work the same way? I imagine the sensor is in the same position, however the wheel rotation speed is different. I am no mechanic but tell me if I am wrong. Anyway, you reckon it is the Ford rotor that causes the heat shudder? (goes away when they cool down). I guess I want brakes that I can do so 'spirited' driving through some hilly country and not notice any huge difference. It doesn't bother me if they get hot, just if they fade or shudder!! Wouldnt mind to be able to do a few track days without worrying about brakes. Am I going to have to go to bigger wheels and Brembos? I guess I would prefer not to yet! Not enough brass and I actually like the 18 inch rims at the moment. So what brand and type of disc, are the factory calipers good enough? I imagine the back brakes would hardly be doing much work so I am really not worried about them at this stage, maybe upgrade to Territory discs, other than that... what about good pads? Limited budget, 18inch rims, best disc and brake pads within reason... how much, and will they do what I want them to?! By the way, loving this car 70-200km/h is insane for a factory vehicle!
  3. G'day, Just got a late 2009 fg xr6t ute and loving it! But the brakes are puss! One big brake and they shudder and fade, these cars are so underbraked it is scary! Anyway I like to be able to stop, with the amount of power these things have, what are the best options to fit inside my 18" rims? The DBA 4000 sounds ok, but can they really handle some good braking? Also any probs with abs/warranty? I gather that the rears don't do much work? Experience and any advice would be great! Cheers
