na my tuner didn't tell me that about the acuator ,just put it on and got charged $400.00 just for the acuator.. to be honest when I found out that the turbo needed rebuilding I asked what else could be done to the turbo while it was of and was told the acuator and ported turbo or something ,I never said do it ,just asked a question. then my quote at the end on pick up was over 3800 nothing like the original quote of 1800 - 2000 dollars..?? so no I wont be going back there ill be going somewhere else.. I went there from good feedback only to be totally dissapointed. is a boost guage hard to hook up

So can I bypass the boost control solonoid ? If I can and I put a manual boost controller in can I set it a 12 psi and it will work fine and not go over 12 psi ? Im running low on cash atm for a tune I just forked out over 5000 dollars and have got nothing for it except these problems

Ok ill check it tomorrow ,na I dont have a boost gauge yet but it seems I should invest in one asap ..will this hurt my motor because the acuator is bigger than my psi ??

Can I put a manual boost controller on ..will that stop any chance of over boosting if its done manually..r they good ??

Na Ali said its a 8 psi tune and a 11.8 acuator..its always surged but like I said they said it was valve springs ,done them but still the same..I had a genetic tune from intune before they done the turbo and acuator and it was running ok..its never been good since I left there ..I have 3 different tunes all supposed to be 8 psi..im fairly cranky at it all.I load the standard tune in and its fine untill 5000 rpm when it starts to cut out and splutter from the bigger acuator --boost cut or something--but up untill 5000 rpm it drives great ..

Before the tune matey..its 8 psi tune and the acuator thing is 11.8..,only 8 psi because my valve springs were shot..any body know of a good tuner around wollongong

Can someone please explain to me what the acuator is and its role in the motor..I put a bigger one on after a turbo rebuild and it surges under acceleration if u flatten it .could this be the acuator ?? I got a tune from bta and the turbo done there and its never been the same since..done valve springs which they said were causing it and coils and to no avail..any one have any ideas

hey my car still surges under hard acceleration ,only in second not first gear. done the valve springs fully rebuilt turbo ,high flowed or something with a bigger acuator 10.8 or 11.8 new coils new plugs just serviced ,oil and filter it has a tune only light at 248rwkw and 890 nm torque because my standard valve springs were going silly any higher to be honest it only started doing it after the dyno tune ?? could the acuator thing be to big for a small boost tune its only on 8psi I had the standard tune in it last night after picking it up from the mechanics with the new valve springs and when I gased it I thought id been bombed ,a huge bang than running real bad, took it straight back and he said the acuator was to big for a standard tune ..so I put a bta tune in and it was that but now again I have the stupid surge back..wt# I got no iea

Just got the car back after the new springs were done and all the surging has gone ,well so far anyway. Thanks for the replies

Seriously your full of it..im not gonna argue like kids..mate I got 3 kids and my missus to back me up on this..if I was 2.15 my car would be in the dam workshop at m getting doe not in my f*****g drive way..I should have listened to the boys in the posts above .your now just trying to save your stuff up dude..like I said I should have listened to the above posts so anyone thinking of getting stuff just read my post then make up your mind..

After getting stuffed around for a hour yeah I did and then I rang straight back,how far can someone drive in 30 seconds and you say your over a hour away with your mate can I meet u in blacktown ,of course im going to my car was booked in to be done but that has now been put back 1 week..seriously dude 2 days to drop them of is plenty..as you said in your post you forgot..

haha went to pick up my springs today from sydney from rapid systems ,what a joke !! they had 2 days to drop them of a c motor sports ,rang because I was running late only to find out he hasn't even dropped them of yet ,2 days to drop them of 30 kms away.then ended up driving an extra 40 kms to get them from his house.so 2 hours sitting around in the car ,3 whinging kids ,1 wife abusing me for his stuff around ,30 degress heat and he finally shows up.$60 in fuel ,2 tolls and I get them.then ring my mechanic only to find out im to late to drop the car of to get them done as he was shut..all up a disaster of a day.. wont be buying ANY of there products again. could have got crow with the extra fuel money and toll money. yep im having a good old whinge to get it outta my system..

Ok yeah I rang crow ,bit expensive at 420 shipped..ill look into the other brands on here tomorrow well ,thanks ..the ones I mentioned n this thread are 279 delivered to my door. gday im getting new valve springs for my ba xr6 turbo ,auto and im looking at rapid system springs..the springs are same as the new xr6 turbo and rated up to 406 rwkw.. does anybody have any knowledge about these or had experience with them. im never going to go past 300rwkw anyway thanks
