  1. Hey, we've gone a little off track. Any have any more comments on my original post? "I am a first time xr6T owner and have recently had the turbo in my FG replaced under warranty (65k kms) It still had plenty of power but was whining obtrusively on light to medium boost. I was told by an independent turbo specialist that the original turbo was "out of balance". Well, the new turbo makes the same noise when it is "spooling", just not quite as loud. Is this normal for it to be heard clearly inside and outside the cabin? Additionally, there is now another noise especially when the motor is still warming up. When the turbo turbo kicks in on light to medium throttle, a grating type noise, similar to static on a radio that is not tuned in, can easily be heard inside the cabin. I'm not sure if it is the turbo, but it is related because it only happens when the turbo is boosting. It just doesn't sound right! Does any of this make sense? I may be a bit pedantic, but if anyone has experienced this themselves or has any suggestions, please let me know. "
  2. from the local ford dealership
  3. I have only had the car for 2 months. Prior to that it has always been serviced at Ford so I guess whatever the standard oil they would use is in it. They replaced the oil feed filter when they did the turbo. Everything is stock on the car.
  4. All fixed! Easy! Thanks

  6. I have a coolant leak and I think it is coming from the turbo coolant pipe where it enters the thermostat housing. (I think it is the thermostat housing...) Please see attached photo. Is this easy to fix? Can I do it myself?
  7. Well, no success. It has lost all the presets again!!!!!!... even when using the same key. All FM1, FM2 & AM presets have changed to random, non tuned frequencies! Anyone got any suggestions?
  8. I think frogg is onto something with his comment as I have in the past programmed some stations without the key in the ignition. I reprogrammed them all last night with the key in so we'll see if they remain in the memory.
  9. also, does anybody know the difference between the "auto store" and "auto scan" functions for finding radio stations?
  10. Hi, Yes we do have 2 keys, and I thought that might be the problem (presuming that the stored stations may be linked to the key used somehow) but even when I store the stations with my key in the ignition, the next time I use my key the stored stations may not be there. Weird and frustrating!
  11. Hi, I am new to this forum. I have just bought a fg xr6t. Has anyone had any problems with the radio forgetting the stations that have been stored in it? And by the way, this seems to be a random problem... sometimes it remembers... It has the standard ICC. Cheers, Tim
