  1. Happy Birthday Gr3chie!

  2. Happy Birthday Gr3chie!

  3. Heathcote Raceway 10/6/13 Standard FG MK2 XR6 Turbo Manual - 12.94 @ 110.51mph 1.9 60 footer backed up by 12.97 @ 110.92mph.
  4. Update, I had all my little issues sorted out at my first 15k service, however that was done at 10k (I just couldn't wait till 15k for it) and then had a diff bush replaced last week at ~16k which I can only assume was due to the amount of axle tramp it was getting. Good news though it managed a 12.94 backed up by 12.97 second 1/4 mile stock (6 speed manual) before the bush was replaced so now that's off my chest I can just drive & enjoy the thing now lol Couldn't be happier! cheers
  5. Happy Birthday Gr3chie!

  6. I've got some issues with my manual FG mk11 turbo only done ~9,200k and its embarrassing mentioning it around friends! 1. front passenger door trim keeps unclipping (maybe when they did the tinted windows for me?) 2. gear shifter rattles at high rpm!!! (most annoying!) 3. I found tiny oil leaking from around the harmonic balancer on the sump!! (most angry about!) 4. under heavy breaking (not necessary I know) there is now creaking coming from the front end! (it never did it when I first tested the brakes when I bought it but now it does? also I am NOT a heavy breaker at all) 5. the silver/chrome XR badge on the back has a bubble in it!!!! 6. drivers door when winding the window up squeaks/clicks! can hear something moving around when windows up. Just typing this has actually revved me up a tad. what do I do? go in now? can you just show up and they will look at it? or wait for my 15,000 km service and say what's up? I also experience with TC off, a TON of axel tramp as soon as there is any form of wheel spin (the first time I spun the wheels was a light test at around 2000 km and it was wet...and it was after the motor was "ran in" Guys any advice?
  7. Happy Birthday Gr3chie!

  8. Just a quick update, has 3,500 on the clock now, all noises and issues have sorted themselves out very happy owner!
  9. Don't know if its anything to be concenred about, but I have noticed now when the car is cold theres a sort of whine under the engine bay that goes away once warm, also, the gearbox inside the car makes a sort of noise that goes away when I clutch in, again all noises go away once car has been driven and warmed up. Might keep an eye on it, ill post a video of the whine under the engine bay, im hoping its just something that's wearing in or something minor. I have only done 1700kms and taken good care of it the whole way. (literally only a handful of 3rd/4th gears to 5k otherwise really never gone above 4 under WOT) Cheers Guys EDIT: Heres the video Maybe im overeacting, but the whine/high pitched sound you hear is not there when warm and it was never there when cold before...any thoughts?
  10. Hey guys, My names Michael, I have posted a separate thread about my FGMKII XR6 Turbo that I just bought in the same section, currently am loving it, just wanted to clarify if possible the correct way to run the engine in, I have heard many many different ways and just wanted to know what everyone here would recommend. Currently has 550 km done, and I drive it lightly through the gears (no highway driving yet), then after an hour or so, I give it WOT to 3k then shift, then repeat, I do this for say 2nd 3rd 4th but do not go over 3000rpm. Some people say from the get go drive it like u stole it, but then some say don't go over 4k for the first 800km then slowly progress, some also say load it up, high gears, low revs <2000rpm, but I have NFI which one is the correct way! Anyone care to shed some light? cheers!
  11. thanks steve. ps I thought fg xr6t's did low 13's?
  12. Also, for those that want to see, this is my EA when it was N/A running a high 13. I have never raced it turbo charged, would be interested in seeing the MPH it can achieve! This is a photo of the 2 kids lol
  13. Thanks guys, yeah she drives really nice, took her out last night, had to resist giving it WOT, it was hard! Shyfrd those elements package was just interior and exterior protection, they reckon its used on qantas plans, (the example she said was, the roo is always bright red and never dirty) and the quattro is something I can use, were I can call someone out to fix scratches, dents, etc. nothing to special but I got it anyway. Im finding it hard to get used to the clutch, as in my turbo EA im pushing a heavy as clutch and the throw is massive, this FG clutch is light as a feather! So far im just driving it under 3,000rpm (not going above) and giving it say a 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and from the looks of things she wants to get up and boogie fast! Thanks Grechie
  14. Quick update, picked her up tonight, took some quick shots, still getting used to driving a new car, compared to my EA this thing is easy lol Can any one on here tell me the correct way to run this engine in, as I have heard many ways, and am confused! Cheers
