So I've been cycling 100km+ a week consistently for over a year now and recently started running again (did a 10km a couple of weeks ago) but finally decided I wanna actually look fit too. I always enjoyed lifting, just not going to the gym and dealing with people...so I bought myself the beginnings of a bit of a home gym setup. This is what I've got so far: Haven't lifted in a long while, so this is where I'm at 2 weeks in of lifting 4 days a week: Got a ceiling fan getting installed in a week and thinking if I keep enjoying it as much as I have been I wouldn't mind getting a rack/functional trainer sort of setup next year some time.

I had one of these previously in my house and it died. I ended up replacing it with a Miele fully integrated dishwasher...one of these: https://spartanelectrical.com.au/g-6660-scvi-fully-integrated-with-3d-cutlery-tray-stainless-steel/ On the auto setting it uses bugger all water at half load and cleans better if I don't wipe off dirt first. Also, the door pops itself open after running so I can run it whenever and it never gets mouldy smelling. How good is Nick Scali?! I swear half my furniture is from there haha. -
Must be something in the Rona air! I previously sold all my music gear and didn't have a guitar for a few years. Recently started buying some decent priced guitars off FaceSucks/Gumtree (electrics), but this week decided to finally go and get myself a new acoustic. I had a really nice acoustic previously and missed it (was what I used to write all my stuff on), so decided it was time. Funnily enough, have written and started recording my first new song in like 8 years within the first week of getting the new acoustic. Congrats doodle heads!

Ah right, so now you've had the dick and balls removed - good stuff!

To be fair, mostly just to work - means I don't have to try and fit a workout into my day. All taken care of with the commute.

Windows 10 or what?

Can confirm good cardio. I've been riding 100-150 (longest ride I've done was 100km...burned 4000 calories that day, so ate alllll the things haha) a week most weeks for nearly a year now. Dropped 20kg+ so far and trying hard to get rid of rest atm (another 10kg or so).

I'm obviously out of the loop...Keif, care to quote the post explaining about Fluff's surgery to bring me up to speed? Fluff, glad to hear it's done and you're back home safe though...whatever it was. Finally get that gender reassignment surgery, eh? 🤪

I did get my master bedroom done with Luxaflex, but that was coz I had an odd shaped bay window I wanted to block out without having to put up frames. Ended up getting their duettes, which turned out sweet. But that 1 bedroom was literally a third of the cost of my blinds...for the whole house! Rest of the house got roller blinds (and even motors in the living room) from the same blinds shop. Crazy price disparity, but did work a treat in the master. -
Legit, pretty much just work...been crazy busy, hence I just kinda disappeared...got a week off starting 28th, so just trying to keep my head above water until then... How's everyone else going?
-
Yeah, that's farked up. I feel like you need to be a special kinda of weirdo to actually want to be a journo. Like, who actually WANTS to do that chit?!
-
Jeebus - that sounds like a pretty average day, @Mrs Jeturbo people are chit hey, especially the media.

Looks like it's coming along nicely, Fluff! Can't wait to see the end result! Oh man, I'd almost forgotten about that! Poor Pix, what a chit show that was. -
Yeah, he doesn't want me working the hours I am and doesn't want me to burn out...but also couldn't offer me a solution that would allow me not to?
-
Me too...I'm keeping a timesheet, obviously for tax with the whole working from home dealio through COVID, but yeah.
-
Nah, I do wear bib-shorts (for th padding), but I wear modesty shorts over the top...coz noone wants to see that haha!

Nope. Days in lieu at managers discretion. They spoke with me yesterday, as they're concerned about the hours I'm working...and so I asked them where I can cut back, coz they've reduced hours (to reduce costs) of some of the higher paid peeps, and they said "well if we took some of x work off you for a week could you get some of this other stuff done to get ahead"...but the problem is there's then no-one else to do that work, which comes through regularly each and needs doing reasonably quickly. So they were like "oh, hmm...yeah I guess that's not gonna work for the next month". Meanwhile, they're trying to tell me to be more billable...but work less. Sigh. I just wanna hibernate for a couple of weeks and just play guitar and go cycling and watch tv.

Just work in general atm. Don't get me wrong, super grateful to still be employed, but fark me...I've done 111hrs overtime (unpaid) in the last 6 weeks...and will no doubt have to do some work over this weekend too...probably even more in the future. Fun fun...I'm farking wrecked...

Usually I like winter...but now that I cycle to work I'm a little less excited, going for a couple of early morning rides this week were rather chilly! Dug out a thermal top and some MTB gloves to give a go on my next early morning ride. Gonna be a bit average when it's raining AND cold...ah well. Puts hairs on your chest and all that, I guess...

Yeahhhh...sorry, I forgot about that bit @Mrs Jeturbo lol. To be fair though, once it's setup mine's been the most rock solid internet setup I've ever had! I can stream 4K movies from my server (which is connected to my network via wifi) with zero issues...and still browse the net and do other stuff on phones etc.

I've been been pretty happy running a Netgear Orbi mesh wifi setup. Full signal and speed right across my house. For greater distance can just get an extra satellite. I got this one: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/netgear-orbi-whole-home-high-performance-ac3000-tri-band-mesh-wifi-system-2-pack I've found both is a good compromise. I have a Synology DS 918+ to store all my media and then run a computer for the plex server. Ideally I'm wanting to get something like a Lenovo Tiny PC with an i7 to act as my always on server though. Transcoding 4K is a lost cause, even with my i7 8700K so doesn't need to be as powerful.
