  1. Yay! Last day of training today. Had 8 people on a course I've been running for 3 days this week - it's been pretty full on!
  2. I feel like there should be more Dr. Cox references around here -highlight of the show.
  3. Haha, I never said I haven't/don't feel it's needed at times... GF is more of a "reinforce positive behaviours" kinda of person...so I feel like we provide a good balance lol.
  4. Yeah, I had to buy an extra module that gave me my usage - I thought it would be interesting, and it is pretty cool being bale to track it in real-time and adjust my usage patterns accordingly. 60 a day in summer will be awesome man! You'll love that! Aircon for days!
  5. I feel like I'd find myself single if I did that...
  6. Coz otherwise the dickheads will bark and annoy the neighbours. Plus, our dog is an inside dog - he doesn't shed at all, so doesn't leave the house full of hair, which is his saving grace. He'd be an absolute pest (more than he already is) if we left him outside at night. I like to feel I'm quite resilient...the broken sleep is what scares me the most about having kids, as I'm not really a great sleeper as it is. Like, getting up to let the dog out the other night - I woke up to the first alarm and then was pretty much awake the rest of the night...
  7. Not my dog, unfortunately - so not really a feasible solution...would be a whole lot cheaper though, that's for damn sure!
  8. Yeah...this is essentially what I was thinking. If I went with a new patio with insulated paneling you can get light panels in them to keep some natural light, but still greatly reduce the heat that currently gets generated. God damnit...there's like $15-20k I didn't want to spend...😑
  9. Yeah, do wants fans and lighting either way. It's a lot of money for an outdoor area...but it does get pretty warm, and the way they did the truss setup is ugly and low-hanging. If I were to replace it I'd get it done so there's no visible cross-beams. Would look a whole lot nicer. Then could also have downlights instead of hanging lights. Again, though...lot of money that would probably be better spent on a new kitchen...
  10. Dear god, that car is hideous!
  11. That makes me consider my options for patio cooling. It's tempting to just put ceiling fans under the colourbond alfresco and patio...but then it's just going to be blowing the hot air around...where as I COULD put up an insulated patio AND fans, that way it would keep it cooler to start with. But it's a fairly big price hike to essentially replace my patio (probably like $15-20k, vs maybe $3k for fans and lighting).
  12. 37.07 here for me yesterday. Sounds like the new roof and insulation is doing a bang up job, Puff!
  13. Having to get up several times during the night to let the sick dog out so he didn't spray liquid sh*t all over the house pissed me off, especially after having to clean up outside after yesterdays effort with his sh*tting and the other dog trying to dig up the garden. GF is taking sick dog to the vet this morning, so hopefully they give him something to settle his stomach - getting pretty over it after nearly a week of this now. If this is any indication of what it's like having kids, I'm not sure I want to 😶
  14. The perfect dinner, if you ask me!
  15. Coz of the way it loads data from models.
  16. Any way to just set the aspect ratio? Essentially I had a tablet, but it died...so no I need to record a demo video but I need to be able to have the same aspect ratio, so it looks that way it will for clients using a tablet. Resolution is less important that aspect ratio.
  17. "Recommended" specs. It will run on lower spec...but you're going to have a much better time with it with 32GB RAM. It's a pretty intense software package.
  18. Ideally just resolution...but the surface has higher resolution than my machine haha. And I don't seem to have a resolution in the options that has the same aspect ratio 😬
  19. Preferred replacement is Dell Precision 7530 with: i9-8950HK 15.6" FHD touchscreen 32GB RAM 1TB M.2 SSD NVIDIA Quadro P3200 w/6GB graphics card Current laptop: Doesn't meet minimum specs to run our software (doesn't have enough RAM) Is getting pretty old Is rather large and bulky to take on site visits Has started crashing more frequently Preferred replacement, for the following reasons: Touch screen to use in the demonstration of tablet based solution to clients 32GB of RAM, to meet Software recommended specs, with the ability to add another 32GB of RAM at a later date if required Smaller and lighter to take on site visits Better graphics card for running graphically intensive processes in Software Better CPU for running CPU intensive processes in Software
  20. @k31th If I'm wanting to create an emulated Surface Pro-esq tablet environment on my work laptop so I can run our software on that simulated screen size to get layouts right etc...is Visual studio with the Microsoft Emulator for W10 the way to go?
  21. Bled a lot, obviously. But I'm betting on blood tests...hence the use of vials. Seems like I'm going to get the new work laptop I've requested, so that's exciting!
  22. Just bought a couple of 9 score waygu steaks for dinner tonight 😋
