Just did ecu & TPS resets on 05 ba2 xr6 na auto daily beater. Driving smoother, nicer with at least 50rwkw more! Haha. Noticed a quiet drumming, tapping,rattling noise from drivers seat. Idling, no extra elec load on. From in behind (in front of,) ICC maybe, hard to tell. Can't hear once moving. Thinking blend door motors, but not loud enough. Seems to deep a noise to be relay. No codes, lights indicated. Any theories? Cheers..

Thinking yea. Who's done it already? Rebodying basically. 32000kms, I bought her brand new...... Boohoooo

Hey all, whats the widest tyre can fit on rear of fg2 xr6t sedan with stock 18 inch xr rims? thinking achilles tyres. second set of dunlops gone already at 18,000 kms. Achilles any good, or better budget suggestions. Still got dunlops on front, they wearing real well. Just rears for some reason.......

Use that 2 gauge, just insulate properly.

Did you get it goin? Immobilised? might need resetting to as built data?

Brake lights working? If not working (both) prob brake sawitch on pedal. What model? can get switch reset & then replaced under warranty, if not switch only $40 or so.

Missus could smell something in boot when unloading shopping on our fg2 xr6t. put on hoist at work. found pin hole in weld at front flange of rear muffler. bit different to fish smell!! maybe worth checking but.

I u sed to work for Enzed in Hunter Valley. Cant do brake lines for road registered vehicles. Track & off road only. Legal braided hoses have little plastic "whip" collars adjacent to crimps. Off road no plastic collars.

Just drove an Ecoboost Falcon 350kms for some work training. Very impressed for someone who owns a brand new xr6turbo. Anyone modded one of these yet? Reckon usual breathing mods would free up some usable torque/power. Really nice handling with less weight over front. With a manual would make a fun twisty/track car.

During brown mind altering substance intake I managed to clean all intake pipes in & out & cleaned the boost solenoid. 12000 kms since new & already noticed difference. From passenger seat!

Anybody gets this prob check if brake lights working. if not get dealer to reset brake switch. if prob comes back, new switch needed. pretty common. worth getting checked but, may be other issues. if you crash/hurt someone & your abs or dsc lights were on your insurance is probably void.......

We have had 2 through our workshop that had a weird brake shudder problem. Would only start after 80-100kms of driving. Brake booster was causing brakes to drag, heating rotors, causing shudder when brakes not even applied. Tried plugs for idle/miss? Due at 150k, but go off with time leading to burnt/cracked coils.

Flushed coolant, was 15% glycol. Manual box oil. Engine oil & filter 9240 kms. Second engine oil change, Diff oil with additive done 2000 kms ago. Ordered 2 x rear tyres. Oh & helped a mate fabricate an exhaust system for his ED burnout car. Good Times.

Wrapping mild steel or cast iron exhaust components will cause them to crack. Dont ask how I know. Excessive heat in parts changes crystalline structure of metal. This makes them brittle. Cracks occur & moisture in pipes accellerates corrosion. Stainless or steam pipe bends are generally fine. Apply damp & wrap from rear/bottom to front/top to stop leading edge of wrap lifting in airflow. Go ceramic coating (in & out) where ever possible.

Anyone tried the Herrod CAI? Pricey but looks stock.

5966 kms. Oil & filter. tighten intake manifold bolts, disconnect blow off valve & plug intake (giggles for 10 yr old son), diff oil with ford additive, check over on hoist. rear tyres down to 2mm tread!!!! Maybe federal 265,s in my near future.... Otherwise all good.

We used to service fg xrt highway cars every 10000 kms. All Commodores in town now. Oil & filter, diff oil with additive (Nulon not Ford. $40 versus $130) check & record pad & rotor thickness. Replace pads when 3mm or less, rotors if undersized or marked. Pads supplied by police fleet company through Repco (Bendix Ultimates from memory). Well serviced but fleet companies like to use aftermarket (cheaper) parts when they can. Get a different program (tune) from stock. Speed limiter removed, smart alternator charge programming modified to allow full charging all time at idle. Batteries were running flat while cars idled at roadside. No more power as part of ecu program. Program (tune) done on stock Ford workshop computer. Get a flogging but Hot seat changes generally lead to less cold start engine wear. If no obvious damage, gutter jumping etc, Prob pretty good buy, if you want an auto.... Sorry bout such long post...

Figured it out. Im a dumbsh*t. Car wash I used had wax in it. doh.....
