I believe during testing early this year (or last, goes to quick now) in the NT using a correvit they got a 13.59...how accurate that was I'm not sure. I'd guess 13.7-13.9 for the mag blokes to get

I've had 2 diffs now, both whined. They start off at 90-100 but as time goes by it happens at almost all speeds, but mine was as accelerator was taken off and the car was coasting. I got the 2nd diff rebuilt at a diff place, and the whine came back so it may be the parts that are faulty. They never did get the clunking though
-
Gee Craig, that certainly is the 1 in a million accident that you had there.... definately would of been one helluva shock when it happened Was good watching yourself and Mick at it for fast times at the strip, and you put a lot of effort into your reseaerch of mods. Hopefully the series 2 Boof isnt too far away.....

I had a whining diff, no shunt or clunk though Showed the dealer, was nice to them, got a diff replacement in a matter if weeks Whether it is fixed though..is the problem. Depends on whether the pinion and crownwheel matches up correctly with a suitable tolerance

Gday Brett Did you drive the ute with the 3:23 diff gears in it, and if so how much difference was there in driving it after installing the 3:46 gears? Much more responsive?
-
I got 720km's from melbourne to canberra in my XR8 ute, average of 11.4lt/100km Usually gets around 15.5-16lt/100 in normal driving

13.59@102 in my BAXR8 ute here Need a decent launch without wheelspin to get low 13's, that 13.58 was with a 2.15 60'...so there is a bit of improvement there Mods- full zorst, cai, underdrives, short shifter
-
It was just a perfect combination of a perfect launch and gear changes right at the limiter- a 1.90 60foot will always yield a cracker time with a good run. Remember as a rule 1 tenth off the 60' will wipe of 3 tenths off the ET. Plus looking at the mph (110) that equates to a 12 I've seen rods mods and it's just as he has listed, also seen the 261rwkw dyno sheet My ute has done 13.59 with just zorst, cai and short shifter, next friday aiming for 13.3's It ceratinly does surprise when you go try and see what your car can get if you give it a few runs at the strip

One minor gripe I have is the positioning of the drink holders, they are are a good idea where they are but when you have a bottle in there it gets in the way of changing gears (particularly manual). Maybe something similar to the Territory where it clamps it in on the door compartment Stronger and better quality diffs- alot of people with modded cars have had diff replacements, but also a high percentage in stock cars too. Replacements havent been fixing the problem, they still whine

Funniest thread in ages, well done fellas! In all seriousness, while we are on the subject of cars being lowered etc, this is what I did to the rear end of my beast:

whenever a new range of auto's appear, you will probably find it will appear on a broader range. eg. XR6T, XR8, GT's, F6, Fairmont Ghia so that Ford can buy them in numbers and ZF can arrange a better price for the size of the deal
-
Well done to Mick, Craig and the other turbo fellas who are out there flying the blue flag for us, the turbo's are really the cars to watch for fast times. Imagine with the power they can generate with a closer ratio'd 6 speed auto and a stally?? Peter, re: that 10 second pass to aim for that Matt's yellow monaro, we'll leave that to you to gun for in a twin turbo xr8!

At the moment Amberley are working on their own intercooler for the "T". I'll see how this goes and if they are happy with it I would hope to get one fitted in the next few months. Once I get the bigger intercooler I feel that the car should be able to get into the 11's on street tyres. That said though, feeling the car should do it and actually doing it could be two very different things. Geea. yes an 11 on street tyres would be hard, especially the launch, mark (100%) had major dramas taking off with his stage lll on board But imagine, it'd be one of the fastest street-driven cars on street tyres in the land!
-
well done geea, VERY good times with the T on street tyres Wouldnt it be a quite an achievment if you beat mark's stage lll time on street tyres!

dealer incentives are running till september, for example XR8 sedans get extra's like prestige sound etc and the deals on XT's with cheaper entertainment systems are running till then. Make of that what you will...
