  1. Does anyone know if it will have any changed sheetmetal & or headlight/taillight assemblies changes upon the XR range? ← Highly doubtfull, BF MKII will only be running changes to make sure packaging and price/value meets VE. At a guess, theres possibility for side-curtain airbags, more grunt on V8s (5 - 15kw, 30 Nm - fingers crossed for the sake of the BOSS). And yeah, MAYBE cheaper & lighter parts as said above - but doubtfull. There was talk of a 6/6.2 ltr V8, which was canned in the U.S about 3 years ago, and recently resurrected, but we wont see that for at least 2 years. Were really quite lucky with the inline six, it gets so much attention. BF MKII will be it until the new falcon comes in 2008 (18months). We may see a MKIII with colour upgrades, depending on how well (which I think will depend on the economy of the v6's) the VE's will sell.
  2. Absolute pisser mate! I can see it now; "oh yes, my husband is a safe driver" whilst smoke and noise are coming from the back of the car....
  3. also different mount points for the ZF, stiffened transmission brace and cross members, which although probably un-noticable, does improve chassis stiffness.... ALSO theres a stiffened brace/mount for the diff....
  4. You should be carefull giving out the username/password for xbmc download. There are serious legality issues to the site (because it uses the Microsoft XBOX compiler).
  5. that's so stupid dont you think?! I've got 6sp MAN, it it will cut at around 5850 - 5950 cant be sure I dont really watch it perfectly whilst thumping it so I just shift 5750 everytime, without fail. what gives!

  10. oh mate why do they do that! sometimes I cant even see their headlights, and 9 times out of 10 its a monaro.
  11. Why are you paying 600-1000 every time (for a tune I guess you mean)???
  12. yeh. but at least we can control our skirts with our knobs and sticks.
  13. yeh no worries- I was wondering how can I sit in the car at night, with the stereo on, without having this bright arse thing staring me in the face while the car is off. and yeh, enjoy your "treat"
  14. Yeh I wanna know too! Comon' man! you've got us interested - whip that lumpy V8!

  16. 1st Gear 50 km/h 2nd Gear 75 km/h 3rd Gear 115 km/h 4th Gear 160 km/h 5th Gear not specified in manual 6th Gear not specified in manual ← Yyou sure about 2nd and 3rd gear there? that seems short....
  17. b**ch on the pension - suck my ... yess.... I forget what movie that was from...
  18. All great news all round. VE is going to be big, falcon will need to match it on price, performance AND economy. Personally I hope they shrink falcon slightly. There are sooooo many benifits of a smaller chassis. Disapointing re the V8 if they're still using the BOSS 5.4 - truck engine. Falcon needs a high-rev, short stroke V8, not a truck engine. Something closer to LS1 & LS2.
  19. For me the whole reason for a new car was TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX TAX.
  20. I also speculate the performance BOSS V8's will be getting mid-life upgrade. Theres no way Ford Aus will hold onto the Boss for much longer, especially now that the market has well and truley moved on. 6ltr HSVs, 6cyl Turbos, all faster than ANY Ford V8, straight line and around the bends. If it wernt for the Turbo, Ford again, would be at the back of the aussy performance pack. I'd be thinking a Boss MKII kind-of arrangement, possibly a 6ltr. There was talk of this 12 - 18 months ago. Not that I have anything to back it up, other than the fact that it's now about time for V8 upgrade, not to mention its much needed. Regarding the weight gain for VE, dont bet on a 230KG avg rise in weight. Seems too large - maybe 100 - 120 kgs. Their Late model camira V8 and V6 are lighter than the falcon equivilant.
  21. Oh that's great news. And I love the fact that Ford has really started to acknowledge the fact that racing is a key to the cars success like Expensive Daewoo have for years. And drifting is a great way to showcase a really good car, as well as attract MORE people to the brand. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday. Ill draw on the recent "Expensive Daewoo Monaro Bathurst 24 hr winnner" ala "Harrop 7 ltr, Le-Mans spec V8 from GMs racing catalogue" with totally revised rear, and front suspension. Infact it really wasnt a Monaro, more just the panel work with a completely different car underneath. People equated that car with the Monaro you can buy from Holden. Brilliant marketing. Go the 'phoon.
  22. I didnt notice any difference at the Motor Show, but they werent side by side. Are the any specs at the website?
  23. Yep, filled up today on Extreme with a completely empty tank (2 km till empty). I cant really tell much difference. Ill see if the econonmy has changed over the 1/2 tank. 92 unleaded was 109.5. Extreme was 122-something. Bit of a rip of considering 5% of the product is local grown. they should introduce 5% eth. blend on the low range product so more people buy aussy fuel and the government subsidise it. meh.
  24. I should have checked the forum earlier, would have LOVED to have come!!!!!
