  1. Rab, get rid of that dye, assuming that's what you've put in it. Regardless of what people say, the sh*t will either eat your plating on the blocks (nickel) or seriously gunk up the veins over time. Just use distilled with some decent anti fungal like pt nuke. It's also got a cososion inhibited due to the metallurgy differences.
  2. Keen for some more detail, any chance of sharing?
  3. Keen as punch to get your thoughts on the outcome [emoji41][emoji106] Will be doing a high mount 9180 later this year.
  4. I'd be keen to know what happened with this one. Can we confirm it def threw a leg out of bed?
  5. [emoji106] Great to see some other fellow rotor heads on a Barra forum [emoji41]
  6. Yeah same. I believe they've gone to a 73mm inducer [emoji41] imho, this is where the original should have sat as 68mm was always a bit small for the exducer size.
  7. Yeah look don't get me wrong, I've done all the numbers and looked at all the data, which is why I keep asking the questions around how good the 9180 really is. Everyone I talk to, Nizpro included say that its not something that you can quantify in numbers. They apparently feel amaaaaazing and the numbers just really don't so them justice. I'm a facts guy also, so find this "touchy feely" stuff hard to accept but can't ignore the wrap that these turbos get. Everyone that compliments them simply says, "you've just got to drive one to see what I mean". I guess the transient response and early boost is what makes the EFR's so appealing for street use. Not sure why the sxe has such high choke flow and appears to like less boost than the efr. I think I'll have to go efr, although might be holding off a little. I'll just leave these here... I think your under estimating how well these gamma Ti wheels spool. You will NOT find a single turbo setup that makes the power these would in a twin configuration and make boost as early or be as drivable on the street. In this cars case, the 1/4 mile times mean jack sh*t, the cars still running a ZF off the foot brake for crying out loud. The fact that it's run 163mph in this weight car, should be enough of a indicator just how much power it's making. [emoji106]

Agree, but we all know that they've never spared expenses in the past chasing records. Let's be honest, if you want to be even in this league, you don't have a budget, nor should you. I wasn't considering cost at all in my 'drawbacks' statement, as it's really not a drawback for guys like this. You can't effectively run a GTX55 on a streetcar and expect it to be fast. At least with the twins you'd get the same outright power and almost no lag. It'd be plenty streetable. Area under the curve people!

The twin efr setup is actually very smart and will outflow a big single all day long with none of the drawbacks. The effectiveness of twin efr7163's are spoken about by a lot of the most highly regarded Japanese workshops for the big power RB's, so why not do it for a barra? They were never going to go faster without going smaller twins to make the power. And believe me when I say this thing makes power! I've seen the the dyno charts before the new engine with billet crank etc was used and holy sh*t it's making some mumbo. Let just say it's well well north of 1000hp... [emoji6] I'd do it if I had the money, wicked spool and midrange with crazy top end. Remember, these efr's are no ordinary turbocharger!
  11. No one else got experience with these yet? Working out whether or not to go one of these or efr 9180
  12. It was on E85, just was running outa fuelling. I'd be more keen to see numbers on 98.
  13. Yeah cheers. Looks pretty decent although don't know why you'd go to all that effort with the other mods and then run a sh*tty single 044 for fueling. I'd be keen to see the max results on pump 98. Looks like it would have a good low to mid 500 on E85 on moderate boost
  14. Can someone already put one of these on anad post some results!
  15. Not trying to discredit the results but I don't see how in any form ID1000's are capable of making that power. Seems like a happy dyno to me...
  16. The old rule I feel still applies. Makes the desired power with as little boost as possible. I think this is extra important, especially with a stock engine! [emoji23] @HI PSI what were your thoughts on the 42 as a street turbo? Feel lazy? Yours is manual also yeah?
  17. God damn tapatalk!
  18. Just doing more turbo homework and I really can't choose between the gtx4202 and efr9180. I really had my heart set on the efr but am not sure it'll make the kind of power I want on the boost levels I'm thinking ( less than 25 psi) on pump 98. I want to try and hold the engine together without having to build one just yet. Judging by the comp maps, the efr needs a pressure ratio of around 4 to make around 800 engine hp. The 4202 on the other hand makes it right in the middle of the central efficiency island, right at around my target boost pressure (2.9 pressure ratio). I'm just worried that the 4202 on a manual with stock engine would be an absolute pig on the street. I don't want a powerband like a light switch for 2k rpm. Can anyone with experience with these comment?
  19. Pre post ? Stupid Tapatalk! Might be a laaaaag monster with the manual though [emoji6]
  20. You seriously won't regret it Rabs. The fact they have a 12 year 24/7 guarantee, means they have confidence in their product. Just make sure you adjust it properly to your body! Best thing I've ever bought!
  21. Just an update on this. Mines started doing it again! ?[emoji19] I ripped the cd module out and have sent to ASL Automedia to give it the once over. I won't be happy if it's going to cost me more money! The repaired replacement module has only lasted 2 years!!
  22. lol, the Millenium "comfy" Falcon [emoji108] Trust me, it's the best seat your arse and back have ever sat on! Rab, do it! Best thing ever when you spend so much time sitting all day. For me it was out of the Aeron and the Embody also, but after going to Living edge in Richmond last time I was down, it was a no brainer [emoji106]
  23. A Herman Miller Embody chair for home [emoji123]
  24. It's common as for Brembos, they all do it even if looked after [emoji6]
  25. Haha, would love to rabs, but between the car spending and buying a block of land last week.... "No cash Robbo"
