  1. Happy Birthday Damos!

  4. Pay out is $375 for wheel and tyre. That's not a bad idea actually!
  5. Wheel is definitely gone. How bad is the wheel ? They can reroll weld etc pretty good these days , I had one buckled badly you could see it sway just on the ground and they got it better then factory as I wasn't able to get another without damage and buckles as a replacement. We were driving at 60km and a minivan reversed out of a driveway, he had a little metal step at the back of the van which basically can opened the car down the side and ripped the wheel.
  6. So, Recently someone ran into our car and damaged down the side and destroyed one wheel. Cops attended the accident and the other party was deemed at fault and charged with neg driving and I got the car fixed through my insurance(AAMI). The issue is the wheel that was damaged was not replaced by AAMI and they only offered a pay out for it. The wheel is a Verde Kaos Black w/ Machine Lip in 18x8. I've tried Taleb Tyres(where it was originally purchased), Tech 9 Tyres in Perth and Custom Wheels and Tyres in Penrith. Taleb Tyres have one set left and can't get any more so wont split it up and everyone has advised production has stopped on these wheels. Unfortunately AAMI don't cover full sets of wheels/tires so even though I was at no fault in this incident it looks like I'm going to be out of pocket quite a bit if I can't find this wheel. Does anyone know anywhere else I could find a replacement wheel? Any help is much appreciated!
  7. Happy Birthday Damos!

  8. Oh sorry, yes those are the wheels
  9. One of the old rims is cracked hence why I'd like to use the new tyres still on the front rims. Not too keen to go to 20" as tyres would get pretty expensive wouldn't they? These look quite nice: http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/store/wheels/vertini-sicilian-18x8-mb-2.html
  10. Hey Guys, So I need a new set of wheels for my 2005 ba mkii. I only replaced the front tyres 3 weeks ago so want to be able to put them on the new wheels. The rears are gone so can be whatever. Front tyres are 235/40/18. What 18" wheel sizes will work with this? Would it be cheapest to find some wheels online then go to the tyre shop to get the 2 new tyres/fitting? Any suggestions on decent priced wheels that would suit a dark purple car? Sorry this is all a bit new to me. Thanks in advance! Damo
  11. Ok just got someone to send me the video of me moving the car out of the flooded garage. Have a look here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC51GD-zCPw Let me know what you think, it's not as high as I originally thought...
  12. Wow this is a worry then, only got the car 4 weeks ago! Should I be calling my insurance company first or speaking to my mechanic? What if my insurance company fixes the carpet etc but then I start finding issues down the track?
  13. Hey Guys, So just got back from a holiday up the coast and the car had a bit of a hard time! The carpark got flooded and filled the car with about 5 inches of water. Carpet wise we've dried that out and thankfully there is no smell so will keep an eye on that. Is there anything else I should get checked? The water level was a bit under my headlights. All the electrics are working fine. Then on the way home we hit a big pot hole and cracked a wheel. They were just some cheap wheels I think so will buy a new set. I'm in the northern beaches area in sydney, are there any decent, reasonably priced shops around? Hoping not to spend much money on new gear. I just got 2 new tyres literally 2 weeks ago so hoping I can get a new set of 18" wheels and get re-fitted? Cheers or any advice, Damo
  14. FYI it was the switch that was busted
  15. Ok so I've checked every fuse and can't see any blown. Any other ideas? Thanks,
