  1. Hmm so not too much drone then ? Mark: yeah I looked into the ces stuff, but I'm just really liking the twin systems. Turbotrana: blocking off one complete side of the exhaust doesn't sound to good? :/ What do people think of the difilippo system?
  2. Manta are the only company that make a twin 3" for the Fords.
  3. I don't really know what this means.....
  4. Yeah there's a big sound difference between mild steel and stainless steel. So combined with build quality, increased longevity and sound, the systems are different. It all boils down to budget too. Nothing wrong with mild...just different. will-82 So easy to live with day to day I'm guessing? Much louder than stock?
  5. Yeah I know what you mean. Manta twin 2.5 is ~2700 and twin 3.0 is ~3200 (full system) I just want some feedback on loudness and drone and those sorts of things....
  6. Hi guys, Just been weighing up exhaust options and am keen on the dual systems that Manta offer. My FG F6 is sitting at 325rwkw and I am aiming for 400 after exhaust and a few other things....the question is, do I go with the S/S dual 2.5" or dual 3.0"? Does anyone have these systems? I guess another option is difilippo 3.5" single to dual 3.0" after the diff?
  7. Exactly. You get what you pay for Well centre caps would sit fine on the fronts but on the rear the hub bolt protrudes about 3mm past where a centre cap would sit flat...so you'd have to improvise. Good thing I like the raw look of no hub caps!! De-rush the hubs and paint them with rust and heat proof paint....looks much better like that!
  8. There's about 3-4mm clearance to a grommet that keeps the brake line out of the way. That could be moved which would free up 3-4mm more. So tight but plenty of room
  9. No hub rings.....when you buy quality they make sure the rims sit perfectly on your cars hub. Advan make this size to sit snug on the FGs. These aren't 'speedy wheels' here
  10. I know about the nankangs guys!!!! It was just to get them on the car so get off my case :( And SEATON.......please make an offer, I'd love to move the stock F6 rims! They are in very very good condition, no gutter rash at all.... I have two rims without tyres and two with 245 falkens on it.... MAKE AN OFFER! I'd love 2K for them....negotiate by private message, or email me if you want willh@live.com.au
  11. As I said earlier...I was going on holidays so options were to leave the rims and fit when I got home, or get whatever was lying around and fit immediately. So I took the immediate option. Definitely don't regret it! But looking at Advan sports tyres for the next time...won't be long, not much tread left on the nankangs hahah XYZ just get them!! Soooo worth it, I've followed your threads and looks like you get the best of the best, so go for some quality rims if you haven't already! Hah just my advice... Mummba...I believe you're in Brisbane? Rory did a shoot on your ute?
  12. Thanks! Here's a break down of the price......then you might think it's pretty good haha Fronts 840/e Rears 915/e So 3,510 rims only.....The rest was for tyres. I couldn't fork out anymore coin for some good rubber at the same time and I had the option to fit them the day before I went on holidays for a week (meaning that I had to take whatever 275s for the rear that were lying around.......nankangs :( ) haha..So I couldn't have gone on holidays and the suspense of whether they'll fit or not would have killed me.....So I got 245 Falken 452s and 275 Nankangs......never again will I buy Nankangs hahah soooo sh*tty And they weren't on jacks for long, the other hoist were busy....so fitted then rolled onto hoist for alignment
  13. Thanks guys, too kind.... I didn't want centre caps, plus the hub bolt on the rear sits out so a centre cap would have to bulge over it......I prefer the raw look. Tomorrow I'm freed up some time to de-rust the hub area and spray it with some high heat resistant black paint so that it doesn't rust anymore. Next will be to progressively increase rear tyre size 285, then 295, then 305...until it hits the guard.....then get that rolled. Hopefully it'll hold 1st and 2nd at that stage haha
  14. Thought I'd share this so that people can see that 19 x 10 rears can fit under an FG F6 sedan.... I researched a lot before I purchased these rims, as I didn't want to spend a lot of coin and not get rims that fit right.... Specs for the FG F6 sedan standard rims are as follows: 19 x 8" @ +36.5mm offset 245 / 35 / ZR19 Rim only weight: 15.7kg Rim with tyre @ 38psi weight: 26.75kg 5 / 114.3mm stud pattern Centre bore: 70.6mm Hub length: 37mm I forked out a bit more cash for these rims, as I could really justify spending more to get a quality rim. I went with Yokohama Advan Racing RS. Specs: 19 x 9 fronts @ +29mm offset 245 / 35 / ZR19 front rim only weight: 8.6kg front rim with 245 tyre @ 38psi: 20.6kg 19 x 10 rears @ +35mm offset 275 / 30 / ZR19 rear rim only weight: 9.2kg rear rim with 275 tyre @38psi: 24.25kg Sooooo, the rims only saved 27.2kg of unsprung weight over standard....which is massive!! By the time the rubber went on and air went in, the total weight save was 17.3kg of unsprung weight...looks like the extra rubber on the rear was a bit heavy, but still a massive weight save! Some people may laugh because it's a road car and race rims are unnecessary, but I don't give a sh*t. I can afford it and I definitely think it was worth every cent. In the seat of your pants, the car feels like it accelerates easier, not more powerful, but definitely feels like there's less weight being lugged around. But the biggest difference noticed is in the braking. Definitely pulls up stronger and harder, and also, will take longer to suffer from brake fade on those mountain days as there's less weight for the brakes to be stopping. Concluding, I can honestly notice a big difference in the braking, and suspension feel with lighter rims, also acceleration, so definitely worth it if you can fork out $4,500!!!! Now for some pics
  15. Thanks! Nah they're the same suspension...the one on the grass is just on flat ground whereas the others were sloped.....and the handbrake was on so the ass doesn't drop as low as it sits normally.
  16. Yeah Elite did such a great job, the graph is really strong...massive mid range gains. It's a good bunch to throw on so good luck with it, I will be keen to hear how yours goes with such similar mods....cost me about 5-6K all up. I love the induction noise haha it's much louder than stock, but good loud
  17. Thought I'd make a post about my recent tune results.... I bought a 2011 FG F6 manual in January. Round 1 of mods included suspension upgrades. - Bilstein shocks - Kings springs SSL front and SSSL rear The car made stock as a rock 283rwkw and 550nm atw Round 2 of mods sorted the engine out... - Process West Stage 2 Intercooler Kit - Process West 4" Street Intake - redrilled stock F6 injectors (to 60lbs) - Venom 5" 100 cpsi cat replacement - Xcal 3 and Tune After installing these, Elite Automotive worked their magic and the car now makes 325rwkw and just under 700nm atw. I couldn't be happier with the results that Elite Auto were able to get. The car drives unbelievably well and the power / torque feels outrageous. I couldn't recommend Elite Automotive more, they have catered to my every need service wise, and now tuning wise. A big thanks to Paul and the boys down at Archerfield, Brisbane. Got me itching for Round 3
  18. 2011 FG F6 Manual. Non-demo with 35 kilometers on the clock from dealership transporting. Black with leather. I got the car January this year and I was 20.....now 21.
