Sorry to bring up an old thread, JETURBO, what would you recommend for 700rwkw on e85? would the twin pierburgs, fpr2000 and twin feed rail be sufficient?
-
Well I finally got around to replacing the turbo. Have been driving the car without any issues for the past month with no issues. I thought I had fixed the issue. Today was the only hot day we really had here in melbourne and this afternoon whilst I was driving the same problem came back! Seems to only do it in the warmer weather... Sending it to a new mechanic when I get a chance. George

Ok. Thanks for the replies guys! George

The only thing that has changed is the turbo. Same 12 psi actuator the car was previously tuned with. George

Was making around 360rwkw beforehand. I did take it for a drive once I finished it and was very cautious. Started coming on boost very very early and got to 10psi very quickly (compared to the old turbo) so I backed right off and cruised it home. that's why I was asking.

Hi Jet. Found some time and got the F6 running. In your opinion, is it ok to drive with the bigger turbo until I get it tuned? It already had a few bolt on's before. The only thing that has changed is the turbo from a gt3582 to gtx3582 Process west Stage 2 cooler with t/b relocation X-force 4 " dump pipe and twin 2.5" catback Turbo side intake and battery relocation Valve springs 12psi actuator Ported wastegate Thanks George

Also Jeturbo, any tips for the actuator bracket? What easiest to use on a BF? Thanks, George

I thought about going into the hot side pipe but wasn't sure what was the ideal way to do it. Would rather do things once but that's just me. Thanks George

Thanks for the quick reply Jet!! George

Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but I didn't want to start another thread about the same topic. Which position would be the best to put the boost reference fitting? I have uploaded a picture from pictures in this thread. A or B? Thanks, George

Just saw all the replies now. The car drove fine all the time. I had the car re-tuned in april and still made good power but the turbo let go about 2 months ago now. its sitting in the shed for a while.

So I managed to get into contact with the previous owner of the car (who my mate bought it off) and he has told me that it used to puff out some smoke occasionaly on take off when he had it, and burning a bit of oil which is what I am experiencing. According to my calculations, this has been on-going for the past 55,000 k's. He had the turbo rebuilt as that was thought to be the cause but still did it after that. Then had a leak down test, comp test and something else tested and the mechanics couldn't find anything wrong. He also mentioned that the head was replaced at 80,000 k's due to a recall or something? Any ideas from here onwards? Thanks, George

No more than 5.5 litres and that's after putting around 500ml - 1L in on Monday morning when I noticed it was very low and went and purchased oil straight away to do the oil change. Was blowing smoke today when taking off. :S George

hi guys, so I checked the oil level today after doing 500km's and it doesn't look like it has dropped at all despite it blowing smoke as described earlier. The past 2 days it hasn't blown any smoke like it was the other days. Something weird is going on... George

I'm sorry :( haha I did an oil change on Monday so will check the oil level again tomorrow and report back exactly how much it has lost and how many k's it had done since the oil change. It was dead on the full line after going for a drive later that evening. Thanks, George
