  1. Yes mine is a turbo. I also got the cargo net and not the cover. Covers are standard on the 5 seaters but an option on the 7 seaters. Go figure.
  2. I note that you say they deleted the memory seat option in October. This I can confirm. One other thing that they deleted was the electrochromatic rear view mirror. Just interested to know whether you got the mirror on your car. Mine happemns to have the memory seats but not the mirror. Also, it is nice of the dealer to have advised you that the memory seats had been deleted. Most wouldn't and you would have little recourse.
  3. I am looking at another Ford, Typhoon or Territory Turbo, however my head keeps telling me to get a Japanese car. I hope to make a decision in the next month or so.
  4. Come Wednesday my car will be making its 28th (I think) recorded visit to my friendly Ford service dpartment. However, there have been more visits that have not been officially recorded on their database. You name the problem and my car has had it. The question that I ask others is, What is the record number of visits? and, Has anyone had their car replaced under the "Lemon Laws"? By the way my vehicle is a 2002 model with 70kms.
  5. Had the same problem early in the cars life. They dropped the rear end out of the car and the problem was solved. However, this was the begining of more problems. Best of luck
  6. On the subject of bullbars, does anyone know where you can get the small chrome nudge bars you see on the cop cars that house the flashing lights above the number plate frame and the cost. The towbar takes care of the rear but I would like something small and discrete at the front to prevent tossas hitting the car whilst parked.
  7. 48,000km on the clock with an average of 13.5. 90% of driving is stop start peak hour. Best achieved was 8.7 (Sydney to Brisbane) when the car had 40,000km on the clock whilst worst has been 16.9. These figures are per my spreadsheets on fuel useage and not the trip meter.
  8. It was only yesterday that I was saying to the folks at work that I would replace my T for a Fairlane T if one was avaliable.........A wolf in sheeps clothing plus a bit more room for the 3 kids.

    GT

Had the pleasure of a manual GT for the weekend and can relate to the numerous threads detailing this problem amongst the turbos. If it was my car I wouldn't be happy. Though the gurgle of the V8 is something to behold, I'm happy to stick with my T.
  10. Hoping someone can provide advice on the following. Driving home last night I noticed the gear indicator on the dash flashing. After pulling up at a set of lights and then taking off the car basically had no power. It did not use first and second to get off the mark. Tried manual mode to get some revs to get the thing going but this not operational. Then noticed speedo didn't work. Limped the car home and called my trusted service adviser after hours on his mobile. Ironically the car was booked in today for the dreaded brake shudder............. again. Got up this morning wondering whether the thing would make it to Ford. Low and behold the flashing indicator had disappeared and the speedo was working. She was cahnging gears reasonably well however, she definitely feels she is down on power. Any way she made it to the dealer. Prognosis to follow. Has anyone experienced a similar fate? Is this what happens when the car goes into "limp mode"?
  11. After 4,000 kms in the last 3 weeks and the amount of work they have done on my car previously (see above) I thought I had heard the last of it, but alas the noise has reappeared. It's going in again tomorrow so I will grill them and provide any feedback I get.
  12. Alan, I hope for your sake you don't go through the same ordeal that I have had to go through. Hopefully your dealer is accommodating and can isolate and rectify the problem.
  13. I have had the noise since they dropped the whole rear end to fix the diff leak. Sounds like the rear parcel shelf area however it is definitely suspension related. My car has been in about 10 times for this problem. Total days off the road have been close to 20. You would not believe the work they have done to the car to eliminate the noise. We even got to the stage where there were welds to the rear parcel shelf, to welds in the body seams. They thought the body was flexing. Then we got to the stage of taking parts out of the rear of the car on each visit to isolate the problem ie boot trim, spare tyre, trim under the parcel shelf and so on. Each time the noise was still there. Finally they looked at the suspension. It appears that they didn't put the thing back together in the first place. They said they dropped the rear end again and put it back together. Car was going great for 2 weeks, however after driving from Sydney to Brisbane and back over the weekend and then to work today it is starting to rear its ugly head again. Might have a chat to the Service boys again tomorrow, they haven't heard or seen me for 2 weeks now.
