    6 Pot Vs 4 Pot

Such humbling complements haha thank you. Exiting the M4, car infront swerves out of the way, exit backed up onto M4. Instantly slam brakes and drift into service lane. 110 to 0, no fuss stopped with 3m to spare before right into car infront, possible life saved. Im guestimating the distance, but looked about 20m to me. I do also have the eye sight of a balding eagle.

    6 Pot Vs 4 Pot

I can tell you that 6 pot brembos are life savers, I've stopped from 110km to 0 in less than 20m before, maybe even 15m. They are the one thing on the car that make me feel safe. I think if you've got power mods in mind, they are essential.
  3. Hey guys, Thought I would bring light to a problem with BF2 FPVs. A friend of mine has a 06 GT and found rust under his R boot lip, under the tray that holds the sub and speakers. I checked mine and found rust in the same place. Not much but it was there. I checked with another mate with a 07 phoon, and we found rust in the same area. I took mine into ford today, apparently theres a defect with some of the BFs with the sealant used on the boot lips leading to rust. They are covering it under warranty and replacing the lip and sealant. I highly recommend ppl with BFs to check and get it covered before warranty ends. Might be too late for some, but late 07 is still covered. I think its 5 years.
  4. Up date: Ford want $90 for it - unpainted and not including fitting. Anyone know if I can get it cheaper anywhere else?
  5. Hi guys, Ive searched the forum over 3 days looking for a solution to my problem. Ive also searched ebay and called most of the wreckers I know of in Sydney. My right side skirt is missing a clip. Its the clip amount 10cm from the front wheel, about 5 cm wide and attaches to the underside of the side skirt with about 1cm visible from the side. I dont think it actually holds the side skirt, but its visible from the side of the car and is the same colour as the body paint. I think the guy I bought it off must have cut a curb sharp and snapped it off. My left side one is in place. My side skirt is otherwise ok, not loose or too damaged. I was wondering if anyone had advise on where I could get a new one without having to replace the entire side skirt. It didnt bug me too much at first but now its pretty visible that its missing. Ive attached pics of the missing one and the good one of the left sideskirt. So I was hoping someone here would have some advise on where I could get a replacement. Greatly appreciated.

  7. Thanks for all your input guys. Economy increased rapidly as I did some more highway driving. It seems to be around the same as you guys have suggested. I'm taking the phoon to autotech this week to have it inspected, and possible stage 1 package. Hopefully they can shed some light on this possible flash tune business. Last week I drove it until the tank was almost empty, range was about 10kms. Then I filled it with 98, reset all the gauges. The fuel range went up to 410kms, which is the highest I've ever gotten. Im through about a quater tank and its done 150kms already, mixed driving. I have a feeling that the dealer filled her with E10 before I drove it off the lot. I had not emptied the tank until now, been filling it with about quater tank left. I think maybe the left over E10 was messing up the economy. that's my theory anyway.
  8. Thanks, very valid point. Im not that worried about the fuel, the power is well worth it, had an economy car for years...would never go back. Just wanted to be sure it wasnt a mechanical fault with the car. But yeh sounds the same, I've done no highway driving with this tank and getting 18L/100kms so far. Sounds like it may be all ok!
  9. Hi guys I have just become the proud owner of a '07 F6 Typhoon R Spec Ego and could'nt be happier. Beast of a car! I've been reading through this awsome forum (and some others), slowly but surely enlightening myself on the potential power this awsome car is capable of. However, reading through alot of the fuel consumption threads, I've noticed that there seems to be something much different about my phoon. There seems to be a concensus that ppl are getting around 12-15L/100km city driving. I've put a few tanks of fuel through the phoon and it seems the best Im getting is 17L/100km. Even wierder is that this doesnt change whether im boosting or not. I've driven a whole tank through with minimum boost and conservative driving, and Im still getting 17L/100kms. I filled it up and barely got 350km out of the tank...and that was pretty conservative driving. I had factored in high fuel consumption when I bought it...but it seems most ppl on this forum are getting much better economy. The question is, is this normal...or could something be wrong with the tune or something else? I would greatly appreciate some input and suggestions in sussing out whats going on. Or should I just stop worrying and just boost all day long!! Thanks in advance! Edit: Its done about 97000kms and Ive only ever put in 98. The dealer said it may have had a flash tune, but other than that its 100% stock.
