    Blood Donation

On Tuesday just gone, my sister was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia. While the first doctor she saw prior to that diagnosed her with "clumsiness and the flu", the second doctor she saw actually went to the effort to do a blood test...and this was the result. Due to this, she's going to be relying on blood and platelet transfusion for a while. I've always donated blood in the past, and she has in the past too (nothing wrong with her red blood cells), so this is a chance to give back to her. 1 in 3 people will need a blood transfusion in their lifetime, but only around 1 in 30 donate. This number needs to improve. It doesnt hurt much, and it could save someones life. As horrible as this is, one day it could be you, or a loved one, that needs a transfusion. So please, if you are allowed to donate, please do so. http://www.donateblood.com.au/

  6. Or it's just another case of the media using the wrong picture. Or photoshop. Or something trying to start sh*t. Like the picture of the 8 year old girl whose photo was being put on Facebook as the child that died.

  8. Oh for sure Ben...shame you piked on sundays session!
  9. The last time management seminar I was forced to go to ran overtime by an hour and a half. Not very effective time management by the presenters....

  11. I spend time in the kitchen because I like cooking and baking, not because I'm told to.

  13. Been going to lunch with one of the women in the office every week for the past 6 months. Was good to have a chat, and to get away from the office. a few weeks back one of the other women came back from maternity leave, and now they're going to lunch together. When I suggest we go, I get the brushoff. Wish I'd known I was the temporary friend until the other came back.
  14. Thought bacchus marsh was closer to melton than point cook is...

  18. The few experiences I've had with ED have been great. They admitted my nan almost immediately when she had heart problems (the only person to go in before her was a walk in that was covered in blood), and the other time was when I went to my GP complaining of a sore throat, and she sent me there because it was a really bad case of tonsilitis. The staff there were great. I dont know how they deal with the stress.
  19. its only been the past week. Just seems that where I work falls into a hole that no other tower can service. would be nice if I could find any information about it on their website.
  20. renewed the contract two weeks ago :( phone works fine at home. Get decent reception everywhere - except here.
  21. For the past week, on weekdays, between 8:30-4:30, my phone has had no reception. Doesn't seem to just be happening to me either - everyone at work with a phone through optus is experiencing the same thing. Its not like the bill hasn't been paid - half these phones, including my own, are personal phones (and I have paid my bill). Before anyone says I shouldnt be using my phone at work - this means I cant even make calls on my lunch break. In closing - f*ck you optus.
  22. such a hard life you have there
  23. He had a really nasty motorbike accident, and was pronounced dead. Was actually in a coma. So lucky for him that he woke up at the funeral, and not after the funeral... He passed away for real 60 years later.
  24. When my pa was 27 he woke up at his own funeral.
  25. probably was the smartest thing you could have done, Tab. Glassings and king hits are just cowardly. I reckon that we need to start calling king hits cowards hit instead.
