Thanks for the comments people - at least it's cleared the matter up for me. I understand that there must be something to distinguish the range of cars, but it would be nice to have it an option still. I think that if you get really fancy gear and interior like the leather seats and sat nav and sunroof, tinted windows, etc. then you probably want to have everything looking really classy, and the dual climate control looks really ace to me. I want to get the XR6T over the GT-P, because I love it! Oh well, bit of a shame really, but what can you do? I guess if it's not an option, then not much. thanks again, Bryce

Hi everyone! I'm just wondering if you can get the XR6T with the dual climate controls and radio controls that are in the Fairmont Ghia. I really like that layout and style of the buttons. I'm hoping that if you option the Premium audio system (which includes colour TFT screen and 6 disc in-dash CD), and the Satellite Nav system, that you get the Fairmont Ghia layout for the buttons and controls. It seems strange that they would restrict that dual-climate control layout to only the Fairmont model. It would be good if it could somehow be optioned on the XR. Does anyone know about this? Hey Djelibeybi, thanks heaps for all the info. About the 'road level detail' I just meant, I'd like to see some pics of the Sat Nav at the level that shows individual roads. I guess that's at the same level where you see the arrows etc showing which way to turn. The pic you posted earlier seemed like a 'higher'/'zoomed out' level with less detail, showing only the major roads. You answered all my queries on that stuff, and the news about POI's is a handy feature. If it's not too much trouble, and you're able to avoid an accident it'd be good to see it working - it's a lot easier to get info from this group than some Ford dealers!! Thanks dude!

Yay - the first pic of Sat Nav working!! Thanks Djelibeybi I'd like to see some pics of it working showing road level detail, where you can see the individual streets, and perhaps there's arrows showing you to turn left, right and so on. Your help is appreciated!

Thanks mjh, But does that mean when you're using the Sat Nav that you can't play an audio CD? I certainly hope *not*. I don't care that it would use up one slot in the 6 stack CD player, but I would seriously hate not being able to use the CD player and SatNav at the same time. Anyone have pics??

Hey everyone! I'm really interested in the SatNav too - I will be ordering it with my car. BUT, I've been to a few dealers and they don't have it on display! :( Can someone please post some pics, showing the display when it's working would be great! BTW, where does the DVD go? And are there going to to upgraded discs? Thanks ppl!

Thanks Mondie for clearing that up. I want to get the premium brakes, and wanted the spare mag wheel too but thought I'd just save the cash. Oh well, now I (conveniently) have no choice! :D Cheers

Hi PHNTUM, I'm just curious about your point number 6 - I'm probably just misinterpreting it. Do you mean that if you order the Premium brakes package, that you should automatically get a matching 16" or 17" or 18" mag wheel - whichever one you actually have on the car? How does getting premium brakes effect the spare wheel you should be given? On a similar note though, I guess that if you elect to get a matching spare mag wheel - which is a $340 (?) option - then you should make sure it's the same as the wheels on your car. If you get the 18" rims, then $340 for a spare mag is a pretty good deal...isn't it?

Hey Mondie, To clarify, I mean the normal knob looks oval from a side on view, and as you point out, round from a birds-eye view. To put it another way, perhaps its a bit like a football on it's end - though not as pointed of course. I hope this clarifies what I mean - I mainly wanted to describe what it looks like so people know exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for your comments! I had not thought about the heat being a factor - that is a very good observation. Cheers!

Hey folks, I read the discussion on the normal vs sports vs momo steering wheel options and found it very interesting - thanks for all those who offered their opinion. I have changed my mind to getting the sports wheel (instead of the momo). I am now wondering - for those that ordered manual cars - what people think of the normal and momo gear stick knobs. Does one feel any better than the other? Any recommendations? The standard knob is oval in shape - I've put a pic of the Momo version - more spherical - below. Thanks dudes!

To sum it all up, I recall one person telling me that the Premium sound system is "worth every Watt" :D

Hi Turbo lovers! I don't have a XR6T yet but I hope to one day (sooner rather than later). I hope this forum can keep me satisfied until then! This is my first post and I have just one question. I was told the other day that there had been some sort of recall for the XR Turbo. Is this correct? I know there have been a few recalls for the BA in general, some problems with airbags and such, but I'm wondering if there's been a recall of the Turbo specifically. Can anyone clarify this? What were the problems? Thanks!
