Most kids wear Superman underwear. Superman wears Chuck Norris underwear.
  2. It was definitely targeted at everyone travelling there on the day, wouldn't be surprised.
  3. This was posted up on facebook by a large car community group: Not sure what it's about, probably a meeting being held to express the opinions of the larger majority who do the right thing. Although I may be totally wrong. Anyone got more info?
  4. Apologies if already posted, I had a quick look with no results. ACA aired this feature tonight about hoons and their modified cars, what are your thoughts? http://video.au.msn.com/watch/video/rev-head-roundup/xlt6hse?cpkey=6360763e-d002-4461-9d86-414438b86d22%7C%7C%7C%7C Personally, what I think they are doing is over the top. Sure, they are weeding out are few of the bad crops in their Hondas with fart cannons, but at the same time dealing a lot of hassle and pain on us others. They had exactly the same setup on the Hume Hwy on the way to summernats this year from Sydney's West. I was travelling with a mate in his WB ute (Barely modified, 308, 5 speed supra box, exhaust) when we got pulled over, along with every single other car that looked as if they were travelling to the Nats. (Probably about 40 other's parked there just at the time we were there, along with about ~30 HWP Patrolling the short stretch) We were doing exactly the right thing, only going to spectate, in no rush and well under the posted speed limit. We left there with 2 infringement notices adding to $600+ dollars. 1st, which was admittedly our fault, was a gas bottle which was buried in the tray under all the secured camping gear, which they searched through and found, therefore issuing a $353 fine for an unsecured load. 2nd, the exhaust was 3db over the limit, which incurred a $280 fine. Now, we aren't too sure how they did the exhaust check as they have to check it at a certain rpm (they are controlling throttle), and our ute doesn't have a tacho. All in all, we got out of there pretty easily compared to a lot of others there and luckily my mate couldn't be defected as it is registered in WA, so only fines. Anyway, that ends my rant, share your thoughts.
  5. +1 for Warrior. Watched it last night, really enjoyed it. Following the story of both the brothers, portraying neither of them as a particularly 'bad' guy, worked really well. I'm not sure about putting it on top of 'The Fighter' though Dillz. IMO that movie, although a rather basic plot, had some pretty spot-on acting - Especially from Christian Bale.
  6. Yeah you're right I was just chuckin up rrp. Yeah I've trying a bit of that, I'm in NSW. Thanks mate! This is turning into a bit of a sahara hate sesh I agree it's overpriced, doesn't even have the basics such.as auto wipers and lights?! But.. It has a fridge. That's mad.
  7. Whoops, Sorry ! Had a quick search and couldn't find before posting. *Hangs head in shame*
  8. DIRTY8 , TONKA T , LOADED Just spitballin'...
  9. Haha all very valid points, to me $125,000 for a car is ridiculous, I'm certainly jealous. I mean it's got a bloody fridge in the center console! And yes it doesn't get deprived of off road experiences! (Something which a BMW or a MERC quite possibly would )
  10. It is supposed to mean " You Jealous? " I don't think it's quite a Jet , although it does have ~850nm of torque
  11. Got shown this today by a mate at work, most incredible Christmas light displays you will ever see! If you are left wanting more they do a few other songs just find in the related videos ! And this one for a laugh:
  12. Haha I found them tonight to, after finding this: nd ncredible, must have taken so much time and money though.
  13. My father's 51st birthday has just passed so me and my brother were thinking of getting him some personalised plates for his 2011 V8 TT Landcruiser Sahara. The plates we are thinking of getting, for a bit of a laugh, are "UJELLY". Just as a point of interest, how many others understand the plate? It may just be a saying that's been thrown around lately by certain groups of people so we want to make sure that people will actually understand the humour in the plate. Cheers!, Tom
  14. I play whenever I have some free time, would be much more inclined to play with if I had people from here to run around with, feel free to add me : TommyTwoHanks I can't say I'm the best at helicopters though stainless, last time I tried to fly one it ended up upside down approx 15m from where it started
  15. Well, It's down to 15 days to go now. Went last year for the first time, loved it. You don't need to be an entrant to enjoy, just a great holiday off work with mates and a great atmosphere. I've already got my tickets, can't wait. Who else is coming? Edit: Also, hope the bloody rain holds out! I wont be impressed if it's rained out
  16. Yeah mate I have considered a BFII, how much different is it to the FG though? Looks wise, I would happily buy a BFII. My hesitation is mainly due to : 1. The age of the vehicle (as I want to keep the car for many, many years) 2. Acceleration / performance compared to FG of same power 3. Mechanical hassles 4. Interior. I completely agree with you on the self-modification. Although, with my wage, I think I'd struggle saving for mods as well as maintenance, rego and insurance :( I'm not worried about the power it has, I don't drive outside my ability, worst comes to worst I'll de-tune it. I am thinking I will just have to inspect whatever car I choose thoroughly and do all necessary checks to hopefully come out on top. Thanks for your replies!
  17. Alright, First of all, my name is Tom, Hi This will be a bit of a lengthy story, although may interest some. Overall, the purpose is to introduce myself, and to let everyone in on the struggle I've been through to come to this decision. And of course to steal some advice and opinions off you all Here we go, my last year or so has been filled with me researching and looking at carsales etc. pretty much every day, and I can't tell you all how many bloody times my mind has gone "Nope, that's it, I want THIS car". Well, I've come to a almighty final decision. XR6 Turbo. :D This decision has had one very main competitor over the last year, the VE SS-V / Clubsport. I'm not going to lie to anyone here, for all of my upbringing I have been a V8 and Expensive Daewoo supporter, mainly following after my father. A year ago, when all the reality of nearly being able to own one of these beasts kicked in, I had been for rides in / driven : - My dad's 60th Ann V8 Calais - My mate's dad (Owner of Oztrack tuning) 's 440rwkw Twin Turbo VE Berlina - My uncles VE clubsport and the list goes on.. So there I had it, I was hooked, I wanted a V8, nothing could change my mind.. That was, however, until my work mate took me for a ride in his BF MKII Xr6 Turbo (480rwhp) , as I keep giving him sh** for it being a 6. Oh, how naive I was. The car literally took the breath away from me with the first pull. Although I love the sound and roar of a cammed V8, I cannot get past the wow factor you get in a turbo with all that torque! I'm hooked. Then began the research on the XR6 turbo. Do I want a BF? Do I want a FG? Should I go a F6? What can I afford? How much power is safe? How many KM's is reasonable? I have gone through all this and landed at a FG Xr6 Turbo (300-350 rwkw) with less than 40,000 on the clock. Originally I always wanted a manual, always owned manuals, always found them much more fun. After some research on the matter however, I have nearly been convinced into wanting a ZF equally as much Now, I put my mind and opinions up to the scrutiny of you guys, XR6 Turbo & F6 Owners. I will be extremely appreciative of any help and input, as I am only too willing to learn. This is the situation I'm at: - I'm looking to buy the car in late March, Early April. - I should have saved roughly ~$15-17k + by then - Optimally, I would like to only take out a 15k loan, meaning 30k overall, 35 MAX. - Looking to buy with mods already done, unless I can afford otherwise. Now comes the part where I mention that the reason I am 20 years of age, and I am just about to move onto my full license. I have purposely left this till last because I know a lot of people as soon as they see this will jump out with, "He's a young reckless maniac!". I may not be as experienced as older drivers, but I am not an idiot. Which I hope most of you have realised by the end of this post. I am here to learn, and to share my love for cars and performance like all of you. Also, I have thought about insurance, so this is not a worry, and I am aware of the mechanical costs of maintaining these vehicles. Other than that, I am proud to announce myself as a to-be Ford owner! :D I am more than happy to chat and listen to what any of you have to ask or give me advice on Also, ironically, although I have driven / been a passenger in many performance cars, I have never had the privilege of experiencing a modified FG turbo, so if anyone here is an owner of a modified FG in the blue mountains / sydney region and would like to show off their car a little, I would love to be a passenger, to further concrete my decision on the FG! :D Cheers! Tom
