Hi all, I must say to all the guys that post on this site a big thank you, without this info I would be one very bored XR6T driver. I'm interested in installing a modded Xbox in the blue one, but as im new to alot of this I have a few questions for the ones that have been forth: - Im interested in getting the xbox kit from http://www.asllogistics.com/ford_upgrades.html has anyone used this kit yet, is it worth the $160 they want??? - Has anyone got a guide on how to mount the xbox in the boot including where to get power from for the supplied inverter and how to fix the xbox to the car (ie best location and how)??? - How hard is it to make an external power on switch for the xbox??? say to stick near the front of the car, what about a switch for normal ford view and xbox view??? - I know of the good old second turbo in the Auxiliary Audio line , will I need something to clean up the signal ??? or is it not noticable with this setup and the xbox??? - If I need to get something to clean up the Auxiliary Audio signal what is best, I know ford have there Auxiliary Audio 'Booster' Kit for $130, is it worth it, what about shockF6's magic audio box Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Cheers Soul Reaver

Hi All, I recently had the goodness of the magic black box added to my car, as all on this forum do I read and read and read about it all and which tuners in Sydney to visit, here are my experiences, MRT: Too expensive and would not be able to look at the car till late Jan (this was back in early dec) also wanted me to do other things like exhaust and fuel pump but for the power I was looking for as proved many time on this forum only edit and custom tune would be enough and within the relms of safe engine performance. Intune: Sounded ok, has got a few good comments on this forum, was ok on the phone but for me too far away if I had issues and as im a picky bugger that was very likely. C&V: By far the most exposure on this forum of all Sydney tuners, closest for me, competitive pricing, and willing to do all I asked with little harsel and a can do attitude. Also able to fit around my schedule!!!. Well, after all the thinking and ringing around I went with C&V, after ringing the car was booked in 2 days later (got to love speedy service). Thoughout the whole process they kept me well informed (about 4 calls in all once I left the car in there hands) letting me know of any issues with the car and how things were going. As well as having the edit and tune I had a minor service, Apexi Gauges installed (I love these things), change of gearbox oil, centre muffler removed and head light globes replaced. When I dropped the car off I was told would be finished midday the next day, well there had it finished in one day:). After I picked up the car, they spent a bit of time explaining all the things done and the results (235rwkw about 25% increase in rear wheel power!) when I jumped in the car I was blown away with what these xr's can do with no engine mods. 2 days later there called to see if all ok, I advised of T/C issues and clicking noise, car was booked in the next day more tuning done and another dyno done, all issues fixed and car ran within 1rwkw. I am one very happy camper, I would have loved to go to new mexico to one of the big guns but I can not justify the trip also I have the confidence that if there is an issue C&V are 20mins away and not 10hrs. Again, this is just my experience but I am happy with there service and results. Sorry about the long post :(

I have this issue too, got to love manual!!!, the edit has smoothed it out a lot but still there slightly.

Hi Silverman, A few places in Sydney include: C and V performance http://www.cvperformance.com.au/index.htm Intune Motorsport http://www.intunemotorsport.com.au/INTUNE~...ne_Motorsx.html and MRT http://www.mrtrally.com.au/ There are quite a few threads on this already, have a search and you will be rewarded, I personnel went to C & V and have been looked after very well. Merry Xmas to All

I agree, I too removed the centre muffler (IMO it is pretty loud when on load compared to stock, but man I love it), taking said girl for drive, she didn't notice a thing, when I asked if she could hear anything different she said the stereo sounds different WTF :o. That was all that was said on topic,

Gold, pure Gold, too bad about the result though :(

I have that issue too, I has to do with the front brake pads rattling in there holdings (skims I think) ie metal on metal sound on the standard brakes only (not on premium). When you go over a bump in the road hold the brake if no sound then its the brakes rattling in there shims. I have been back to ford 8 times and each time there replace the brackets holding the brake shims in, 1 - 2 weeks later sound is back. After 12 months and 2 different dealerships I give up. Next time I will get the premium brakes . Hope this helps.

I get about 450km 100% city driving, on the highway I get 700km 100% highway driving However if I want to teach a few holdens a lesson it drops to about 400km in city driving.
-
I totally agree with the RTA's lack of skill in aligning lights on major roads, I sometimes wonder if it was done correctly whether traffice would be so bad in Sydney!!! As for fuel consumption I get about 450km 100% city driving and about 650 - 700km on a good highway run. I must admitt not bad on the highway.

that is a great idea for those of us not wanting guages all over the joint, more info needed NOW please!!!!

Another fan of Umart here, definitly a good place to get great prices. With computer gear or any gear for that matter, homework before you buy will always pay off in time and money.
-
that is GOLD, I love it, when will it be available.

Yeah got to love Sydney weather at the moment, I was at WSID (drag Strip) trying to watch the summer nationals yesterday. At 3pm it was about 42 degrees and about 55 on the track, 20 mintues later it was pouring down, then stopped for about 20 minutes started to get hot again then it poured. The whole day was called off we all bolted to the car and got soaked, then got in my car with my brothers 3 friends all wet and dirty (spent the whole night drying the car out ).

yep you have the optional extra handbrake scrap isn't it great NOT, get your dealer to look at it, a note though ive had mine looked at 4 times in 10 000 km good luck.

that is one awesome looking beast, were do I sign (I think by 2007 I should have saved about $2k do you think they will let me have one???)

Will took it to the dealer a few days ago and guess what, 1. Don't know what it could be. 2. Couldn't smell it when went for a run( I could but, I think the service dude was palming me off) Have now called 13 FORD and got it written down, I will need to go to another dealer (will ford pay me for the petrol used? I think not). Since me first post I have done some research and it appears it is a sulphur smell most likely due to a Cat Converter issue with it leaking into the trunk thus why I can smell it only when driving and the windows down. It could also be an 02 sensor failure in the exhaust and the engine is running either too rich or to lean. I have to say I am not pleased with ford's lack of assistance on what appears to be an exhaust leak into the car!!! or lack of service equipment that can test exhaust emissions, may need to go to an exhaust specialist ???.
