  1. so time to update this thread. The sound proofing still has not gone in. :( However with this weather lately, I am tempted to take some time off work to get this done. Not hot at all and I think it would be the best time to get it installed in the boot and the doors. On a side note, I recently got my hands on this: Which I have been hunting for, for quite some time. This is an FG GS rear bump insert that I managed to get from the wreckers. I have spent some time this weekend cleaning her up and getting rid of the small scratches. I then spent an hour trying to get the old insert out of the stock bumper. What a mission that was to get the clips removed. Once I got the old diffuser out and the new one in, this is what it looks like: Car has been dropped off at MT and will be getting a few things done. The Valve springs are being upgraded. The stock exhaust and Venom cat have been removed. A new 4" dump will then be split into dual CAT for the XR8 exhaust system. This should keep the rear end looking stock(fake GS) and keep the noise down as well. The turbo is being removed as it was tired and cracked. Being replaced with a Garrett turbo. I have been contacted this morning as the rocker cover was taken off and the front cover too. The timing chain guide was fubar. I can't understand why the damn thing has broken. I stay of the limiter as I have mechanical sympathy for my motor and the oil pump gears. anyways, the timing chain tensioner guide is broke and needs to be replaced as well. Freggin sucks balls today. What a freggin bill I am for on Wednesday. Fark me I am broke.
  2. Yeah murdock saw the flames on the last cruise too. It's not like I do it on purpose, as I have no way of knowing how to keep doing the same thing again. It has something to do with WOT and 2nd or 3rd gear, but I don't try and do it on purpose. I think it happens when I least expect it. At this point in time, I believe the Venom cat is now off the car and will not be going on. What will be replacing the Venom cat is a dual cat setup and as far as I am aware, I don't think the car will be throwing flames any more. Or maybe it will be flowing flames permanently now... So Tim, when are we going to see you on a cruise again man? you been gone for a long time. The last time I saw you was a Phil's!!!! (I think, as I have bad memory)
  3. Will be getting dual cat and xr8 exhaust system to keep it quiet. I am hoping it will flow well to get me to where I want to be. At the moment I only have 310rwkillerwasps and I think the hold back for more of those wasps would be the dump and exhaust. I could be wrong, but I don't want to find out the hard way. apparently the first thing that came off the car early this morning was the whole exhaust system.

  5. hmmmmmm interesting that you actual mention this. This could be the problem I have in the mornings, getting the car started. might have to go out for a 400km cruise before monday morning and then fill up with bp98.

  7. Yes going quads, however the plan is to make it a sleeper. Fool them to think it is a FG GS, but it will have the XR8 exhaust system so there is decent flow. Fark this was a PITA to get in. I even bumped my eyebrow of the exhaust and got a slash. blood got in the way of me seeing properly and I had to finish the job on the quick. :( Might be going for RW2017........ Will have to wait and see.

  12. saw the video of the car that flipped there and that put me off completely from going there at all. Well, we will have to see how things go. I might have an excuse to go visit Esperance(family) and then hit Albany.

    who are the guys that make the changes in Aus. I know there is a local shop who we deal with for reset of the CALS. Surely they could be notified.

    depending on how hot the day is, is dependent on how many issues you have flashing the ecu. I personally have not had issues, but know of someone that called Rob while I was there and was having issues flashing his car. I am pretty sure that thee are a few others on the forum that have issues with the SCT3 too. Make sure you got an esky with ice in the boot.
