Replacement Gear Knob/ball/stick for FG manual
masda74 replied to masda74's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
ohhh I definitely won't be forgetting where the gears are, but if you ever have to go over the pits, I hear they fail ya if you haven't got the gears identified. so what you saying is that the hurst gear knob in the picture above, could fit on the stock gear stick? I also forgot to mention that I have the aeroflow short shifter installed. I have tried to unscrew my gear knob before with not much success. So after doing some digging around today, I know that Hurst have some knobs. https://core-shifters.com/collections/6-speed-knobs These guys over in the states, but I need to figure out what the metric thread size is before I know I can order any of them. -
I have used the search function and searched for "gear knob replacement" and "gear stick replacement" and didn't get much results. I am pretty sure that I am searching for the wrong terms, but can't remember what it is. Getting old sucks. Anyways, I am using @arronm picture as a reference There is nothing wrong with his shifter, so please don't get me wrong. That is not what I am after. The stock gear know in my manual FG has been replaced once under warranty already. the leather was peeling away and coming loose at the bottom. It got to the point where the leather at the bottom had come out completely and would not go back in. Well the top see through plastic bit that covers and protects the gear number sticker has come off. I know that the car is no longer under warranty and so I want to replace the gear knob. I have been told that the gear knob needs to have the sticker on it with the right gear numbers. In the case of the picture above, it does not have any identifying numbers of where the gears are. It looks good and looks smicko, but I would just rather replace the gear knob itself. I haven't found anything out there,(as I suspect that I am using the wrong terms to look for what I am after) I have also been advised that you can't just get the gear knob on it's own. you need to get the gear lever and knob as a package. Now let the trolling begin, especially with all the terms being used above. If you really want to put that #dildopic up, you can but I prefer not to know about your personal life. Has anyone replaced the gear knob on their manual FG? Anyone got links?

so I spotted(this week) some work being done to a car that will be heading to RW. The rear suspension arms were being replaced with some serious gear and the 315 wide rims that were going on the rear were quite IMPRESSIVE!!! I was asking if they were going to fit. There is going to be some serious contenders at RW this year. not long to go now. hope everyone gets their cars sorted out. Have fun.

If you gonna put together a system that has a GTX1080, well then you should have enough cash to buy one of those monitors. However if you have a gtx1050, then I don't recommend that screen. Hence the reason I said that if you are serious about gaming and have a decent card, then that isn't to bad. there are other monitors with a great price tag on it. Have a look at this list by sorting it from highest price to lowest. https://www.ple.com.au/Search.aspx?SearchString=g-sync By the way, that previous link to the monitor is not the monitor I have at home.

If you userious about gaming and are using the nvidia cards, then this is a good monitor match up with g-sync. https://www.ple.com.au/Products/620146/ASUS-ROG-Swift-PG279Q-27-WQHD-4MS-144Hz-165Hz-OC-G-SYNC-IPS-LED-Gaming-Monitor

Hi Mac and . I cant give you an answer as I have never been in that situation. If the steering wheel is off 20 degrees then you might want to take it back to the alignment place to straighten it for you. surely the other knowledgeable members on here will tune in soon.

DAFAQ!!! seriously... that is bullsh*t. Did you signed the paperwork over at the handover with it left like that? Don't get me wrong Pixy, but didn't you have someone come and look at the house for you before signing the paper work? You just shouldn't have to be dealing with this sort of sh*te with a new house. I feel for you man, I really do. I am cursing at the moment only thinking about you may be feeling right now as you deserve a break and a bit of good luck for the rest of the year...ffs. I hope it all gets sorted without you having to get pissed off or getting that blood pressure to high. -

What car was he driving? It is not often that someone has a fire extinguisher in their car though..... He must have had a tuned car I think..
-
he is going to regret it, I know he is. He enjoyed the performance and tuning sessions at the Mc Motorsport at the back of the airport. This would be the perfect opportunity for him to go and enjoy the RW. I still have my clutch and tailshaft to do and so I don't want to risk it right now. Gotta save up for it first. I want to do both these items at the same time. I was gonna call him at the time of the drive by, but I had no credit on the phone. Sucks big time to be broke. Talking about being broke, what happened to Peter? he seems to have disappeared too.

Spotted @Krazy Kyle on Beach road. Seems like he is back in town, but not on the forum. Getting ready for RaceWars?

you should see the parking lot. fark it is packed with just fords. I feel sorry for the neighboring businesses as they can hardly get through. I have to head out there soon to go and see Rob. I am wondering if this is going to be a good idea.
