  1. mine is a manual as well and I believe that the stock standard shaft should be fine. If you take down to the drags and drop the clutch a lot, then expect to have some issues down the track(pun intended).
  2. yep, I read about it. at this point since it is my daily, I would prefer the smooth and quiet operation of the mal wood gear. I just can't decide if I should stick with single or dual plate.
  3. Well I have been meaning to get my clutch replaced for a while, but the stock factory is still working in my daily workhorse. At First Monsta Torque were all "PRO" NPC gear. All Rob wanted to sell me was the NPC dual clutch. Lighter than factory and hooks up well. Recently I went back to get a quote and was advised that they no longer do NPC gear as the warranty issues they were having was not worth the time or effort. Monsta Torque only do Mal wood gear now. I think that once my clutch dies, it will be off to get a new Mal wood option 3 clutch.
  4. so was there an outcome to this. holidays are over. has anything else been done?
  5. I am not sure where the OP is from, but surely if he went to a recommended tuner who knows these cars very very well, they may find the problem quicker??
  6. Well the question should be asked, how much power do you intend on making? At first my car had 310kw and used the stock standard tail shaft. Once I hit 379kw, the tail shaft was still okay(but for how long). I just felt that it was time to change the tail shaft. I am not sure if there is a recommended power rating for the OEM shaft, that should be used as a guide. I am sure that someone with a bit more knowledge may tune in.
  7. Hang in there buddy. once the issues are solved, you are gonna enjoy it big time. Every so often there will issues, but iron them out and you will be rewarded.

I prefer to use Torque app on the mobile phone and a bluetooth OBD port reader. that gives me and indicative guide as to what the temp is. I hardly use or look at the dash temp any more.
  9. I agree with @Rab in regards to the brake fluid @Lennox. did you get dot 4 brake fluid? you most probably did as I went through the same thing at the RAC tuning session. Need to get dot 5 brake fluid if you plan to take it to the track. I got my brake fluid replaced a month later and all was fine with the car.
  10. If your vehicle has been modded to have more power than standard, it is suggested to get an upgraded tailshaft. However this all depends on how much power your ute is making. I saw it this way, with 500 ponies at the wheels, the last thing I wanted happening was the shaft twisting and snapping and then taking out the fuel and brake lines out. It would cost more to get the fuel and brake lines repaired had the shaft snapped. I felt that this was more like preventative maintenance on my behalf so I can sleep well at night.
  11. check this page out https://fordforums.com.au/dtc/dtc.php Code P023D does not show any results. When I put the P0420 code, it says the following as a description: Catalyst system failure (I6 and bank 1 V8) Mechanical information says: Catalyst has failed. Exhaust or induction system leaks.

do the BA temp needles rise to the half way mark on the temp gauge normally? The Fg have the temp need sitting one mark below the half way mark. anyone else with a BA care to comment?
  13. DBA T3 and PMU 400 pads are currently on my car. I rate them highly because of the low amount of brake dust. They don't bite as much at the Bendix ultimates do, but hell the amount of brake dust from the ultimates were rediculous. I have the 19" Lux rims and by the time 2 weeks had gone by after a car wash, the rims looked like the 50th anniversary rims. Yeah the dark grey ones. Never again will I go with the ultimates. I rather stick with the PMU 400.
  14. @genuine honest person Come back to the forum. We want updates on that Kingswood. I hope you have not sold the ute!!!!!
  15. Why would you not share the solution online in this thread? This way everyone knows how to fix it. If someone in the future finds the thread, then at least they have a chance to fix the issue and here you are wonder why you coping sh*t from us. @f-wolf FFS why would you share your email address on the forum??? You know what? I registered that email address at every phishing website I could think of. don't get surprised by the number of unsolicited emails going to the email address!!!
  16. I wish I could help you, but I have not started my journey in the DIY tuning scene. I am not sure what software you are using, but I am going to assume HP tuning. If this is the case, I would suggest going to the HP tuning forum as there is some valuable information there. The resident guru, may not have seen your post yet.
  17. Man that was a solid . 12 years between the last post and the most recent post. I am disappointed in you @k31th. not a single comment from you about that. I am glad you got your car sorted it @Jacobcurtis. Hope you enjoy it for another decade without issues.
  18. There is no one around to do the poll. Haven't heard from @Krazy Kyle, @discostig, @turbotrana , @PTR_NITRO_FG or @GeGe6. Just Do It
  19. Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on much myself. He won't be back on the forum for a while yet. @And094 have a read of that thread to get an idea of what you may be up against.
  20. I think a new Thread should be created for Racewars 2018
  21. As far as I am aware, they cut the old tube out at the ends and put new ones in, along with a new center bearing. I had called Phil up before hand and advised how much power my car was making and he said all good. the upgrade will handle it well. I didn't ask what they were rated at, I was just worried that the factory driveshaft would let go and rip through my fuel line and brake lines. Yes that would be a good opportunity to redo the fuel system, but not at this time of the year. I had to opportunity to get it done now and I took it up. I can sleep at night now without having nightmares. I am glad that I did not go with VEEM. I went with Final Drive as that is what everyone recommended in the past. @Typhoon good luck with the new tailshaft. Hope it fits.
  22. Bizkets, is your car still running man? I thought you were still off the road with the issues you been having for a while? I recently got my driveshaft done at Phill from Final Drive. All I know is I left the car there for the day, the drive shaft was upgrade to a Chrome poly tube I think and the center bearing replaced. I have no idea what it is rated to, but I can sleep at night without having nightmares of said air vent in the floor pan. All under a grand for me. maybe you should move to WA?
  23. lemme drive it for a month or two for you. I am happy to help you out mate.
  24. @jimmixr hasn't been on the forum since January this year. I am not sure if he will even reply. I have tagged him, just in case he gets email notifications.
