My Case comes with a Vertical card holder, just does not have the PCI riser cable. Also this XFX 6900X is so small, it is not needed. The RTX3090 on the other hand.

So after a month or two, something arrived in the post looks different to the previous blocks I have used Soooo much candy I was really impressed Card getting prepared for the upgrade Clean and ready Getting there slowly, checking for alignment and getting screws in place Final check to make sure it all seems to be together right. After a few hours and she is ready to go Tested and temps have come down. Not as much as I was expecting, but definitely has come down. I was so used to the temps I had with the I7 4770 and the EVGA 1080Ti, I was expecting to be in the high 30's or low 40s. I was on 49 for CPU and 55 for the GPU. After a couple of days though......... .... ... .. .

Less boost during summer due to intake temps, I would say is what I have noticed.

Any update?

Well if there is a watsapp or facebook group, I been excluded. I see how it is.

How many of you are still on here? Maybe arrange for a gathering in say a month's time for a catch up, or has everyone moved on to better things like a ferrari, porsche or lambo?

That is what I was thinking about doing with mine. getting something like a glass coating.

It is a great colour, especially when you look after it. I need to find someone in town that is will to do an overhaul on the car. need to get it washed and polished. Get all those whirls out. I haven't touched/washed the car in over a year now. she just sits in the garage. I drive her every 2 weeks to get her going for about 20 mins or so.

@k31th, I need help please. Found it, please ignore me.

ouch. someone seems to have a lead foot. I don't know how I have missed this thread over the years. Awesome read man. I started yesterday and spent the arvo reading through it all, while enjoying your journey. It's a pitty you didn't start it with an FG.

Since being made redundant in 2019 and bouncing between jobs, it has been hard using her as a daily. Getting a new job Doing FIFO, means she sits in the garage now taking it easy. She is enjoying retirement a lot. The new weekend vehicle is now a Diavel.

That is why I got it. She kept head butting me for some reason or another and I was not sure why. Now I will know why. Also we have a cruise coming up in a weeks time with a few other guys. I want to be able to hear what they talking about. I will be the odd one out without a comms attached to my Helmut.

Yeah Well, I recently ordered this without her knowing. I can only imagine what is going to happen if she receives it while I am up at site.

ooof. Spend more money??? Minister of War and Finance is already on a war path because of the previous spendings.......

Those PCIe Cables for the GPU, sitting there like that, are just doing my head in aye.

So want to provide a bit of an update. This is gonna be long winded boys. sorry in advance As in previous posts, I got a new MB, CPU, RAM and GPU. This is the steps to work out I was missing stuff. Opened the GPU box first. I was bloody surprised by the size of this guy As you can see below, I was going to have issues getting this bad boy in the case. The reservoir was in the way. So I decided to wait until I had all the parts. I removed the back plate from the old machine. Removed the original back plating from the new motherboard, only to realize that the back plate was not gonna fit. I was lucky enough that PLE had them in stock for $1. New board with new back plate and mounting screws Opened the CPU box and what a let down. total disappointment. so much anticipation killed. Can you spot it? So many trees killed for nothing. AMD you have disappointed me. Shiny. My precious Look at the quality of this motherboard. It surprised me big time. in all of my IT career, nothing has surprised me like this board. I had ordered a new bracket for the Waterblock. just forgot to order the backplate for the MB as mentioned before. I split the Waterblock and replaced the new mounting bracket and installed the RBG. I cleaned the inside while I was at it. All nice and clean. Proceeded to install her in the case, then realized I was missing something. He is a big boy Previous PSU was moved into gaming machine for the son. I had no PSU. These guys know how to box stuff. they know how to make you feel good too. I was surprised with what was included in a PSU box. Fridge magnets, Stickers..... This is so well stuff into the box. so compact. They made me feel like a mechanic, actually. PSU was installed and it was time to move on to installing the Pump and reservoir. Due to the size of the GPU, I had to shift it over. only managed to get 2 nuts and bolts in. See how close this is getting? Nothing else holding it down. I think the hardest part for me, was getting what tubing I had left and getting it all to work. I just wish I had measured up first and then cut piping. I got the piping cut before installing the GPU. piping was cut for the CPU first. 😞 I had an issue where one pipe was not long enough, and so I had to shuffle stuff around. previously I had both Radiators connected to each other, then the CPU and GPU was connected together. This time the CPU sits after the first radiator(on the right). Then the CPU connects to the second radiator(top). Finally when the GPU Waterblock arrives, it will be connected after the second radiator. Ignore the blue. it will be changed to RED as soon as I get the software installed. A bit difficult doing this remotely from work.

Good to know that. thanks for the feedback. I now know what I gotta do.

what? the ryzen is running at 85Deg when utilization is at 100%????? WTF. You have a water cooling solution on that puppy don't you? has to be the protector. Get it off ASAP.
-
FFS I can't understand a word he said. In plain english please. Also anyone in Perth have a spare Case they don't need?
-
FFS the AMD waterblock bracket only gets here next week Wednesday, which is fly out day for me. I will not be here when it arrives. I am so Annoyed at EKWB right now. I tried to get the AMD GPU into the case, but there was an issue. see if you can spot the problem???

I take it that there is no way to compress the image at the top? At work with a 34" screen, that top image kinda stands out like a sore thumb. Maybe allow each profile to have two views which allows user to have compressed header or normal header. Just a thought. On another note..... Dang it, they are not up to speed. I need that block ASAP.
