Nah Steve, I was not aware of this. I am assuming that this is the case to compensate for the incompetent driver of the stick shifter. So if a manual driver goes to the drags, he needs more power and a short shifter to try and get better times.

Lol, talking about digging up an old thread. Training wheels???? Since you have answered the question, will he/she continue to post in then forum??

Well it has been a busy day at MT. No results yet, but I know that they have been busy putting everything in. They will be doing the tuning tomorrow. The initial stock dyno run showed a result of 245rwkw. I was gob smacked with that. I was expecting something along the lines of 220-230rwkw. That being said, Rob and Darren have their work cut out for them.

^^^^^^^ +1, as said above go to the tuner and have a word with them about what you would like. I heard about black mac in morley, but they always seemed closed when I went there. There is Simon at XFT which is in midvale. There is Rob at Monsta Torque which is in Malaga. I think there is kpm motorsport in caningvale? There are a few around, but makemthe effort to go and see them.

Well she has been dropped off today instead of tomorrow morning. Hows that for services. Man Rob works hard to get the cars out the doors. I cant believe that he was working today.

I saw the pics on facebook through the streets facebook page.Thought to myself that would have been nice if some done up Ford's were there. Well it turns out that there were some done up Ford's. I hope you kicked some ass. Any more pics?

Awesome, so does that means I need to consider changing anything? I don't have any plans to take her to the track or the drags. When I referred to burnouts, I was referring more to abusing the driveline. Yes it is a manual, but it does get feathered aroun

I have recently had a pm sent to me asking if I had any plans to change anything on the driveline. I replied back that at these levels I don't think there is a need to. As far as I am aware, the dealership where I got the car from says that the gearbox is rate to +-450 ponies For the rest of the driveline, like the shaft for example, it should be fine since I don't do burn outs. Does anything need strengthening?

Blueprint, I really hope you make it to the cruise on the 7th. Wouldn't mind having a good catch up with you about this whole debarkle. I got my car from clarkson and I still have some outstanding issues. I second the suggestion about taking the opportunity to rebuold your current motor. Far out Aaron, how come you have so many motors laying arround?
-
Wtf turboboink, where was the invite for this cruise. Pretty sweet having them all lined up like that. At work in the back car park, its the fords against the holdens. We have 3-5 fords(depending on the day) on one side of the road and about 4 holdens on the other side. Quite often I think about inviting all the fords on the forum to come and take over the car park. I took one of the Expensive Daewoo drivers out for a ride and also gave him an opportunity to drive my car. He couldn't take that smile off his face. He was truely impressed. Unfortunately cause he has a loan for the holden, he cant trade it in. He has other debts as well and he cant afford any more. I thought I had coverted him. LoL.
-
Steve, see how many numbers you get for the arvo cruise. I have voted already, but if you dont get much response for the arvo cruise, can it. Thanks for the love.

The 7th for an afternoon run would be good. The 14th an afternoon or evening (even better for me) would be fine. I just hope there is no burn in period after the mods get done. Want to test the dash cam out as well.
-
Ahh come on Steve, I aint feeling the love. The only day I cant get out is a friday night. When you have a nurse as a wife and the only day she does night shift is a friday, you cant change her shift to suit your plans. Knowing my luck, even if there was a poll, everyone would still vote for friday night.

Congrats in getting into the 300 club. I was there at Mt earlier on in the week and the ute looked good.

Maybe this one would fit well on a side window? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XR6T-Smokin-V8s-Since-2002-Sticker-Ford-Falcon-Turbo-vs-Holden-LS1-Vinyl-DECAL-/400602316254?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d45c23dde But instead of getting a sticker/decal for your car, why not get a shirt http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/XR6T-Smokin-V8s-Since-2002-Funny-Ford-Falcon-Turbo-vs-Holden-LS1-21705-T-Shirt-/400607187650?pt=Men_s_Clothing&var=&hash=item5d460c92c2

I will be leaving the intake as standard, but there will be a few holes drilled under the box. I really want to keep this sleeper like and reduce the amount of attention it draws. I have already been pulled over by the cops asking what mods I have done to the car because I have it debadged. I have ordered the black PW stage 2 intercooler to try and reduce attention. The car has hit 32,000 km and has it's service recently at 30,000km. I will speak to Rob about getting the filters replaced. I shall try and stick with the surge tank, but if the valve springs float, then the coinage will go towards that, fingers crossed. Thanks for the replies. Now the count down begins. 11 days to go.

Well I have been lurking for close to 2 years now and have never officially started a thread. I thought it was time to start a thread and introduce myself as well. I am based in Perth and do IT for a living. I will be hitting the big 40 next year and so time is flying by. I am not young anymore and so it is time to get things happening. I have a 2011 FG XR6T in sunburst. First mod it got at 400km was a K&N filter. It has been stock standard for too long now and I want to know what this mod bug is all about. I have done my research and visited two of the main tuners in WA. I have chosen to go with MT as I got along with Rob and Darren well. That being said these are the planned mods: * 5" high Flow 100CPI Venom Cat * 1000cc injectors * PW Stage 2 intercooler * Xcal 3 with a single Ron 98 tune. * Aeroflow short shifter * supplied Earls inline oil filter for the turbo. * Valve springs if it is required otherwise a PW surge tank A few things concern me though and I have brought it up. I will only be getting a Ron 98 tune. I would like to at least have a Ron95 tune, in case of an emergency, but this would be an additional cost. How much does a xcal3 and 3 tunes cost notmally? The restrictor ring in the exhaust will be removed when the new cat is put in. I am hoping that the exhaust will flow well enough for the car to hit 300-330rwkw. Some people have suggested getting a 4" dump as well for better flow. Is that right? Is it worth the coinage? With the installation of the PW surge tank, the factory fuel pump is left in the tank. I was advised to go with either a walbro pump and no surge tank or surge tank and standard pump. If I go with the walbro pump and decide to do more mods in the future(like get the exhaust and turbo changed), the walbro pump will need to come out if I get a surge tank. I am not sure if the coinage to be spent on the surge tank is worth while, or if I am better off putting that money towards something else. Have I missed anything? Car is due to go in at the begining of December.

I got the venom high flow 5" 1d0cpi cat. That is currently with the tuner. As far as I am aware it bolts straight in to the standard FG exhaust. From what I have read the standard exhaust on the FG XR6T is 3.5"

damn, you are one lucky guy...... as said before, KEEPER! does she have a sister by any chance?
-
Thanks for the pdf, even though I found it difficult to rwad the charts, the text kinda explained what was up. Good luck with getting that tailshaft sorted.. I hope you get it sorted so your tune on thursday gets done without a hitch.
-
sorry but I couldn't hear much of a knocking. I could be wrong, but that engine sounds fine to me.
-
Gege6, I have not modded my car yet, but it is now booked in for the begining of december. From what I can gather at this point in time, it is best to get the PW stage 2 IC now rather than later. Once the mod bug bites, it can bite hard and you want more power. For this specific reason I choose to go with the stage 2 inter cooler and not the stepped cooler. In regards to the XR6T, I will be getting the oem cat + restrictor ring removed and getting the cat replaced with a bolt on venom 5" high flow 100cpi cat. You never know if the oem cat is the restriction until you replace it. It will cost you time on the dyno to find out. Get it done right the first time.
