I think its more that the Ford teams have more to prove. Take SBR out of the picture and its the smaller Orrcon and BJR cars that have been shaming 888, FPR and DJR who are considerably bigger.
Most of the drop in Falcon sales was more from an overall decline in the category, not the Territory joining the range. Its barely affected both wagon and sedan sales as fleets still prefer the wagons cause of the LPG and bigger space. All that matters is the decline in Falcon sales has more than been made up with by the Territory sales
HRT's got the competition running for their livery, so that should prove interesting. I'll be looking more for the Pirtek and Caltex SBR liveries as theyve been pretty good the past 2 years. 888 had an interesting livery last year as well so this year should be good as well. BJR also released their livery the other day with the new BOC colours
12kw is too big a difference for different dyno's IMO. I believe the likes of Nizpro and APS have said theyve seen XR6T's with rwkw fluctuations arund 20kw
IMO as long as theyre mass produced, family sedan based cars, there'll always be compromises somewhere. Considering that, both FPV and HSV still make some pretty good cars
Apparently there's a couple of Mk2's going through the shop so considering Herrod stuck a Vortec V2 on a previous one, with the Stealth out it should be interesting to see how many are "only" 320kw still
Theres a Blueprint HP320 that must have been going around between the magazines that was originally entered in that Shannons Expensive Daewoo vs Ford rally leading up to the Clipsal 500. Wheels tested it and got a paltry 6.8 0-100 to a 5.8 from the GTS. Ive got no doubt a regular production HP320 would get under 6's and 14's, as this particular one had a changed diff ratio to suit the road rally's it was entered in rather than straight line performance
Two is always better than one. Some of the fastest GTR's in the world run unbelieveably large twin turbo setups after having a big single which didn't provide enough air. For example twin 3037's over something like a single T51R. I don't think we'll be seeing twins on any of the ford line up mainly due to cost and really I can't see the need. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah well I think its the fastest GTR in the world uses a single. Singles will provide more boost than twins, the benefit of twins is you can run 2 smaller ones rather than one huge one and the smaller turbines will spool up faster
YUP .. that's it! and XT replaced Forte as the base model designation because Ford wanted to extend the sporting image of the range right down to the base model and XT was the second generation GT. So will the base model in the successor to the BA be called a Phase I ??? or a SHAKER??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wasnt the XT chosen cause the T was for touring (like the GT) and the XR drew links with the XR's?
