  1. I gained a tenth on the quarter mile with my underdrive
  2. The figures seem ok. My car had a 2x2.25 exhaust, growler, under drives and manifold spacers and it ran 160.8rwkw. That was a BF and I was hoping for more. It later ran 175.9rwkw with different extractors and a ported intake manifold.
  3. Stock turbo exhausts on NA's are fairly proven. Keeping the stock manifold should mean theres no power or torque loss anywhere. Theyre supposed to be quiet at idle and loud at WOT but ive never liked my B series one particularly, and I'm looking to stick on a Di Fillipo 3 inch single at some point in the future.
  4. You can usually get at least 30rwkw from tune I take and exhaust.
  5. Those figures look like they're from a 4 speed. ZF NA's can do 400m in 14.5s
  6. A genuine 200rwkw 5-6 speed auto will go alot better than mid 14's. My 175rwkw 4 speed can do 14.5 in street trim.
  7. Don't waste your time with the 4500's. they're designed to fit with the cat in the stock location hence the weird design. Just go 4490's for a cruiser or 4495's for some fun.

  9. Haven't posted on here in years. In that time I've picked up a 2007 XT 4spd and its sitting at 175rwkw untuned and 14.2 qtr mile.

    It could be the case, the fault seemed to be in the carbon fibre carcass (the reason why Bridgestone didnt have issues) so I guess they were hoping the harder Barcelona compound would prevent problems

    They were different tyres actually, Michelin brought over another batch of "Barcelona" spec tyres from Rnd5 which wouldve been a completely different compound and construction. The FIA said it would be a breach of rules to allow the new tyres as they werent presented to scrutineering earlier in the week, but ultimately the decision was up to the race stewards. Considering the FIA felt the punishment wouldnt be exclusion, it adds some more blame on the teams.
  12. I always thought top fuel run direct drive, as they cant affordably make multi speed transmissions that are both strong, smooth and fast enough to get a car down the quarter. In any case, they usually run half the strip still on clutch slip anyway, and are literally hitting max revs right off the start line.
  13. 20,000 should be no problem for a manufacturer such as ZF. If they cant supply that many more, they shouldnt be in the business. I think the Territory Ghia will even get the 6 speed at the end of the year.
  14. It'll be on more than just the FPV's, the XR6T, XR8, Fairmont, Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane Ghia, G220 and LTD should all get it as well.
  15. Dont think it'll work somehow, with how little there is already to tell an XR6T from an XR6, the cops are probably just gunna pull over all the XR6's and check, regardless if theyre a turbo or not

  17. What are the chances of the cars jumping into limp mode halfway through an acceleration run?
  18. Maybe they should try the XR6T formula on the BOSS, by that I mean give the engine lots of potention aftermarket, but make it competitive stock. Go supercharged, forged internals, bulletproof drivetrain, big brakes etc. Make people want to buy then thinking $5K on them could get heaps more power than its already got.
  19. If I ran FPV I'd be really tempted to take the smartarse way and simply add a "Handling Option" to the GT's option list and simply never disclose to the media what its about. Other than that, maybe they should wait for the new model in 08
  20. They probably will start just importing the Focus ST's as FPV now, since theyve got the 160kw Volvo engine in the new model
  21. And like an Auto will keep up boost during a change.... The Auto is too busy dropping of the fuel and retarding the the timing to be worried about trying to keep boost up when it's in "power down - change gear" aka Torque Tagging mode. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wrong again I have a 3 speed auto in my car everytime I push up a gear the boost doesnt drop nor does anything else it keeps pulling away <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well if it a f**king 3 speed it ain't a BA... and that's all I'm talking about.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Havent you heard of a tranny swap
  22. I thought that idiot IPO officer, Peter Wallerman I think it is, was supposed to bring consistency to the judicial process. No wonder Ambrose was pissed. Drive through, fair enough. Both drivers couldve taken the corner better and Skaife came off worse, but te points penalty?

  24. The wastegate is what controls max boost, so yes the XR6T's have one.
