Ford Power... Top choice!! .... Pretty self explanatory why I chose mine! Nearly had the Pursuit pic Ford Power used but couldn't reduce it enough!

Simon... Wish you had of posted THAT 2 weeks ago!... Just paid AAMI $1030 for the Pursuit... Rating 1, garaged, no lease or finance, Turbo & house also with them. I thought it alright, until reading you being quoted $775 !.. My policy also states "No under 30's".... Ripped off ( again!) BTW turbo is $720

Happened to me the other morning...( thought the Mrs must have got the security code changed to keep me outta her car!) normally fires as soon as the key is turned... This time 3 goes... cranking, cranking, cranking then "we have ignition" and all fine!.. hasn't done it again (YET).. She alternates between PULP & unleaded.. wonder if that has a bearing?

Mondie, That was Tickford though! ( and at the end of their reign!)... From talking to people in the know... David Flint is ADAMANT about keeping the GT series on a higher pedastil... I suppose only time will tell? I'm ordering a new bottom rear bar ( the one that removes to access the spare wheel).. & be interesting to see Fords requirements on "ID"?

The only word I have on this, Is end of May FPV apparently are sending a "pressie" package, containing FPV goodies!.. watch, key ring etc + details on the advanced driving course! ( believe it when I see it?)

I think there is an option of "sports" IRS ( which, I'd say has 4 channel ABS)+ you can option LSD, but NO T/C... thems the breaks!

Ford are saying they will NOT sell FPV parts unless you can supply them with a VIN & build No.( meaning a GT or Pursuit vin & build) They are emphatic that no fpv parts are going to be sold to "enhance" either the XR6 or XR8! .. This is FACT

Good mate of mine ( who just got full Herrod exhaust )...260 XR8 blueprint ute... I'll rope him in! He won't take much talking into... Just give us a firm date with a bit of notice.

Being a bit harsh, aren't we?..... I know, when I'm on hols with the boys , A stubbie for breakie is the norm!... Lighten up you guys!... ( then again, on OUR hols we're not doing 160 down dirt tracks, lol)

Hardtop with spoiler is around 50kg... the pursuit is heavier then the GT by 70 kg... The chassis rails are the killer!.. Even though, pursuit, XR8, XR6 utes only rated to carry less then 1/2 tonne they still share the same chassis as the XL 1 tonner.

Only ONE blood orange? ... Wheres FPRXRT ( the "Lygon St Warrier" lol)??.. Surely he can take a day off from restaurant duties?... ( Hmmm, Might PM him!)... Shaping up like a great day... lets hope the weather holds.. ( Have pity on me!.. No T/C)

So much for my future as a motor magazine scribe!... My other 1/2 drove the Pursuit yesterday & All my comments are opposite to her impressions!! She says, how much lighter the steering, clutch & gearbox feel compared to her turbo!... My impressions are still that the pursuit feels so much heavier!.. Oh well each to their own! One area where the 290 creams the turbo is cruising along at say 30 -40 kms in 2nd, Then stand on the go pedal, change to 3rd at 5000rpm ( Not flogging the dear yet).... MATTE, The roar! AND the G forces are unreal!!... This is SERIOUS acceleration!

Mondie 1st... The ECU doesn't come into the equation with just exhaust mods. I'm yet to experience a 290 with Herrods extractors & exhaust, But I have with the XR8 260.. And the difference was felt immediately! And YES, you are looking at 320 odd flywheel! Rocket.. hold up with mine (FPV from March 10th til May 7th) Was all to do with my colour, They had trouble matching bodykit colour,( TWICE, I believe!) then decided to stitch the seats in body colour ( after mine was already in black!).. Rod, I think your wait will be not to long!

Hi Chris!.. Haven't seen a camera yet that captures blood orange properly?.. It is a strange colour?.. In bright sunlite Very orange!.. at dusk or overcast more red!.. Definately will NOT be missed though!... It IS bloody BRIGHT!!
