Been having similar issues for a month or so with my F6 ZF 6 speed. It does the bang into 1st at take-off from lights, and also sometimes flares between gears. The latest annoying one is it "hunting" in revs at any constant speed from 70kph upwards... Like it's unable to lock into gear. So far, have changed the pan (with built in filter) and changed the fluid... Still no better... By the way, Mine has 90,000ks on it, and has been running 320...330rwkw's most of it's life. We have a fault code 701 which translates to "Trans control system circuit out of range/signals from trans control out of range". "Possible causes.. Faulty wiring/and/or connections" From what I'm led to believe, a proper ZF "scan-tool" is required to fully test the box? Next is a drive to Kewish Auto's in Dandenong (unless someone here has a better idea???)

Hi guys, been a while I know... How is everyone at good old XR Turbo forum? A month or so I traded the trusty old XR6T (Nov 02) on a F6.. All I can say is Wow... And for a guy that's always been diehard manual, I can't believe how good the ZF 6 speed really is!

Herrods has the Genuine wheel in stock... and NOT $1400!! OMG, (Sure that wasn't for a genuine XRGT wheel??, which, by the way are like hen's teeth))

Not just looks?....... IS crap!.. Nothing like the original advertised offering, this $10 bit of Chinese rubbish is an insult.. The red ring on the dial reminds of the Target Dept Store logo. The winder knob disappeared off mine in under 2 weeks of wearing! (Send it back?.. & wait another 9months?.. why bother?)

My Pursuit is now a year old (May9th) Anyhow, I checked the AAMI policy last week before paying again ($1040) Car description reads BA XR8 ute 5 speed!! I rang and informed that its a PURSUIT Not an XR8... On Hold.. Waiting Waiting.. AMI comes back and says .. "Oh sorry, when you insured last May, we didn't have FPV vehicles on our databank".. "But its all ok, we'll send you out another policy with Pursuit on it.. Only it is NOW $1690 !!!!!..I asked, "what would have happened in event of a claim? Her response."No probs.. We would have honoured it"! (I F****g BET??) This is remembering I also have an XR6T, house & contents, rating 1 (for life) with AAMI & no drivers under 30! I give up, honestly!

:banghead: Had a friend in the GT today who had also been under full noise in my APS stage 1 T. He asked my opinion, my reply was as always, the turbo is quicker between the lights, but after the lights out on the open road no comparison. Charliewool also races a T and a GT I think I read on the Ford Forums site. they are both modded by 60kW, the GT is a lot quicker doing real driving around Calder :( I'm not even allowed to drive the T... as for modded?.. If you call putting premium unleaded in every 5th shopping trip modded, then it is! And my poor old "modded" work ute... It has Coldair & Herrod exhaust, & is flat out carrying the drinks out to Calder for 100% & the sedan boys!

Now we ARE talking "stock" GT sedan Vs "stock" turbo, correct? Maybe when both cars are 3000ks or under, the turbo is almost equal!.. Put the Ks on the clock & the GT whips a turbo! Calder times are proving this!.. We have stock GT's pulling 13.7's 13.8's consistantly!.. A Stock turbo is pressed cracking 14.2. With Mods a totally different story (before Mr. 100% jumps me)

Wait till youv'e done the recommended 750klm then get the beast on a long back road and run it up to 4500 in each gear, bet you don't get past 4th. Love the colour, love the roof, love the wheels. I Heard from a certain service manager (who has actually seen the real thing) ..270kws complete with sexy FPV blue rocker cover, And HIGH rear wing similar to GT... And it WILL be at MMS.

im working at a ford dealership, looking after the mecho's and havent heard anything of this on any xr8.. I'll second that. Rumours, so many rumours. Ditto here too. I'm at a dealer and have not had any XR8 with this problem. How about cam chain tensioners (leak down causing chain rattle at startup) & diffs (pinion bearing &/or preload misadjustment)

The person that committed this wanton act of sacrilege should be stoned to death in public!! And JBXR6T, you should have your mouth washed out with soapy water for even daring to agree that such profanity would look cool! I don't know?.. Tsk Tsk, The youngsters of today!

P.S Love the stripes.Looks neat. Yeah me too! Might have to get some What do you reckon guys, Lightning strike or Black stripes? I wonder how good they would look after scraping tyre rubber of 'em though? I reckon orange stripes on Merc Silver would look great?

Actually ran my best time with the pipes dropped (14.23, 3rd run with straight out) My best with pipes on was 14.26 (my last run in the final of DYO) I really don't think it goes any harder with the pipes off though. The heat WAS the killer, PLUS the dodgy shift on the tremec! And yes .. 100%'s ute is DEFINATELY a 12sec job in cool conditions!

Edit:Merged. Went to Heathcote drags (organised by Ford Forums) yesterday... What a fantastic day!.. There were a few XR6 turbo members there, 100%'s Utes went well (13.4 I think) This will improve greatly as the temp was right up there (mid 30's) Personnally, my best was a 14.23 with traction & heat also the killer!

Anyone know where to pick up 2nd hand race rubber from? Wanna give the Pursuit a run with something stickier without paying $650 each odd for M/T's. Thinking of either 16" or 17" dia rears (worry about tyre size, then I'll source rims) Thanks Charlie

FPV could certainly learn something from the exhaust setup on the R8?..... Followed one up Geelong Rd the other day... Looked awesome!
