  1. Hmm your right I checked a few plazmaman 1000hp coolers and some aren't even 3inch hot side. Soo 2.5 inch all round? What would be the benefit of having 2.5 inch hot and 3 inch cold like "ralph wigum" mentioned above. Wouldn't it be better just to stay same size all round?
  2. Local Exhaust shop, Ebay or online stores. I will be using Mild steel and powdercoating it black. I dont like the Aluminium piping that comes in kits these days. I know its lighter and does the same job but its very weak, easily scratched and dented. Plus if u want to edit Aluminium then finding a welder or someone who can weld that would be a b1tch.
  3. How good is this page: http://ktsturbobilletx.com/?page_id=29 Can anyone explain the difference in blades sizes and length height and amount and what the actual outcome is? I figure quicker spool less power, later spool more power, correct me if im wrong.
  4. it does have 76mm inlet and outlet this is why I thought 76mm all round. the stock hot side on a territory is 3inch but the inlet to the intercooler is probably 2 or 2.5inch. so you think 2.5 all round or just 2.5 on the hot side?
  5. Kinda like the noise wank factor but intake is super loud as it is with plazmaman under batter intake kit. I think if I had any louder I would have problems with the 5 0 I've only heard good things about Kinugawa, including from MTQ. If I knew about the GTX3582R I would have bought that turbo in the first place but I didnt so im basically making my own GTX with the Kinugawa front wheel and housing. This is the kinugawa anti surge housing
  6. Reason im doing it is I feel due to the size of the motor and size of the 76mm throttle body intake. the old 1980 released garrett standard A/R .50 was much to small of a pressure feed. People on this forum said they have increased 20-30kw just from the increase in housing size. And the billet wheel will increase the power and flow due to the edit's in the fins, and being lighter it would decrease spool time. I have heard though the larger A/R .70 intake can increase the spool time but once on boost power curve is much stronger. So having the billet wheel decreasing the spool time will counteract each other. Thus giving a much stronger power curve and increasing power per PSI. The difference in piping size was about price really. The time difference pressurize between the motor and the turbo would be very minimal in the case between 2.75 and 3inch. 2 and 3 inch maybe. but .25 would be milli seconds if not less. Reducing the spool pressure time is more about less piping used, which is why im customizing it myself. Plus again because the car is made with 76mm throttle intake I believe it should be 76mm throughout the intake minimum. Correct me if im wrong. that's just the way I think about it. and because it has to feed 6 cylinders at 4.0 its going to require allot more flow.
  7. Thanks for that. I have heard of the anti surge covers before but ive never used them or not known what they did. I thought it was used in the case when if air was to pass back through the turbo in the scenario you didnt have a BOV. Stops it from killing the turbo over time. I was never sure if this was the correct reason why though. Yeah Well I have only heard good things about Kinugawa products so im probably going to buy some mods from them for my turbo.
  8. Sorry no I was wrong it's 4inch dump and 4inch Cat.
  9. I have no idea really, but these are the current and near future mods which will be completed before my tune at Xtreme ford on Dec 12th 4 inch Dump to Cat4 inch high flow CatMagnaflow Dual 2.75 inch Cat backPlazmaman Under batter intake kitPlazmaman 500x300x75 intercoolerBosch 60lb injectorsSCT ECU with handheld unitBrand new GT3582RKinugawa A/R .70 Compressor HousingKinugawa Billet compressor wheelCustom highflow Exhaust manifold. And then the intercooler piping which I will be making then powder coating black. I believe I should receive anywhere between 300-370kw atw's. I would be happy with anything 350kw's+
  10. I didnt know you could complete a VSR balance or component balance with the turbo in the car still. How do they do it exactly?
  11. Just purchased a new Garrett GT3582R for my TT and want to get the most out of it. I found Kinugawa turbo parts sells the A/R .70 housing and the billet wheel upgrade. I spoke with MTQ in perth and they said they have installed a few and have balanced fine and look half decently made. What are your thoughts on this brand and products? They also sell a Anti Surge housing, what is the benefits of this?
  12. Going to be custom making the intercooler piping on my TT next weekend and wanted to know if 3 inch was the right size. What are your thoughts and what are you running?
  13. Ok so ive got this instead for $150..500x300x76mm Gen Plazmaman Cooler which was barely used on a project car. This is the link to the cooler on plazmaman - https://www.plazmaman.com/shop_itemdetail.php?itemid=256&cate=44
  14. I have spoken with MTQ and they said this housing and billet wheel from KINGAWA are actually pretty good. A/R .70 Comp housing: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Kinugawa-4-Garrett-A-R-70-GT3582R-Turbo-Compressor-Housing-Fit-61-4-82-Wheel-/281210860548?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4179793404 Billet wheel: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271306378220 Going to probably get these both and get MTQ to Balance it and then complete the flapper mod for $570
  15. Can someone tell me if upgrading the Compressor housing from .50 to .70 is worth it? I've been told that it can increase much more flow, is this true? or not worth the hassle?
  16. Whole reason im doing this. I believe the top mount cooler on the TT's suck. Anything is an upgrade.
  17. Also your thoughts on a Plazmaman 500x300x76mm that came out of a Datsun project which wasnt used much??? Also have a mate who is getting rid of this for cheap.
  18. I dont have a picture but this is the identical cooler I have that my cousin gave me. He was going to chuck out. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Subaru-WRX-STI-Process-West-top-mount-Intercooler-/161154434540?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item25858d85ec&_uhb=1 What are your thoughts about me putting this on my Turbo Territory? Stupid idea? I have custom cooler piping made, which I might need to edit for this front mount as its actually a top mount but I could customize it to fix.
  19. We still talking about my car
  20. Thanks, I will check them out this weekend and see what state they are in.
  21. You spoke about something completely different which got me thinking, are the engine mount and power steering lines a common issue?
  22. What is this turbo and how much they sell for? are they Garrett?
  23. Hi guys, Got a Turbo Terri Ghia 2006 Blew the turbo and just purchased this replacement setup on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=231093047129&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:AU:1123 Whilst its out I wouldn't mind spending some cash on the turbo for some upgrades to get some quicker spool/more flow etc, can anyone suggest if these are worth it or just a waste of money and time: .70 front housing upgrade: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251381656068?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Billet wheel upgrade: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271306378220?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Flutter mod: I dont know how to do this yet, is it something that can be done at home, do I need to replace the internal gate flutter? Also upgrading with that aftermarket exhaust manifold, Plazmaman stage 2 intercooler kit. already have the following mods: 4 inch dump to cat high flow 4 inch cat dual 2.75 magnaflow cat back Injectors Chip ECU with hand controller (this it was like SRT or something) Tuned by Xtreme ford tuning on around 13PSI. plazmaman under the battery intake kit
  24. Man that sounds harsh, sounds like you did a real number on your car, never under estimating a curb ever again. I will get the workshop tomorrow to quote me and if its over 200 then im just going to go with an insurance claim. h8 insurance, its never easy. They talk BS on TV adds like they are there to help you and walk/talk you through the whole process like its a dream and your on cloud 9. But really is Call centre wait times of 20 minutes, claims officers telling you that you dont have anything on the policy that you were promissed originally, no hire car and a headache process of upto 2 months usually for something you could have fixed cheaper/faster than the excess itself.
  25. Got the car booked into a Allans CV Joint specialist which I have used in the past. They do steering and all types of suspension also and they are freakishly cheap... Hoping it wont cost to much, trying to say away from making an insurance claim if I can.
