  1. Yeah honestly the parts looked very well made and Almost look like direct copies of Garrett with slight changes which they said are more beneficial to performance. Mtq were also impressed. 7 days delivery from Japan was good aswell.
  2. Gents.. Dropped off the turbo and Kinugawa parts to mtq this morning. Here's a few pictures of their products before installing into the turbo. Will let you know how it balances and how the turbo runs once installed.
  3. Attached my new 11 blade wheel and .70 housing
  4. I have used it quite a lot without issues. And when issues have occurred its been favourable to me. But like you have said I have had mates that have similar stories and have been stung. But then again they aren't articulate people and most of the time they probably got rid of evidence. As long as when you post stuff you get it registered and as long as when you buy stuff you buy express or registered then you can always have track of where its gone and been and with paypal if you always give the seller and or buyer enough information that they cannot come and bite you in the ass you never have problems. In this case I have got MTQ to give me a letter head, I have perfect evidence of it being used not new, Paypal will see that and refund me. If he cannot refund me there insurance policy will. but again in the case of forum classifieds I've never had issues and that has always been based on pure trust.
  5. I have retrieved money from pay pal protection in the past. It was like $100 though not $700 and the guy deleted his account and pay pal protection paid me out. how long ago were you stung? Were you persistent with pay pal? I'm fairly picky about people trying to screw me over and I will run it to the grave if I have to.
  6. Sorry no I was wrong Pay pal buyer protection now covers upto $20,000 AUD http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/paypal-buyer-protection.html
  7. I sent MTQ all of the pictures above and they have replied saying its Genuine Garrett GT3582 made for FORD. He did say that it was rebuilt and repainted, not factory new. I got MTQ to put all the findings in a letter head and sent it to the guy on ebay. I payed on paypal. If the guy doesn't pay up and say deletes his account or just doesn't respond after 30 days paypal pays you via their insurance of any item up to $1500. I emailed the seller asking him to settle this out of paypal dispute first and that I would keep the turbo with a $700 refund. So see what he says..either way ill eventually get my money back.
  8. I emailed mtq late last night with some questions and they sent me a reply asking for the pictures early this morning. They will be completing work on the turbo when my Kinugawa parts come in anyways. I'm getting them to put their findings in a letter head and pdf it to me so I can send to eBay dispute if needed. I believe it's a Ford gen turbo rebuilt. But we will find out soon. See what mtq says
  9. So you think it's ball bearing?
  10. He seemed legit on ebay. Soon as I questioned him about the turbo he arked up and got really defensive. He said it was brand new. I know its deffinatly not brand new, the problem here is I paid NEW pricing. Not refurb pricing and I asked him about this and said if I contacted him again he would report me...hahah I didnt even say anything rude. I just told him straight forward I will get MTQ to confirm the authenticity and the state (new, refurb, old) and put it in a letter head and PDF it to me. Make a claim on paypal and simple as that. if he doesnt pay me paypal insurance will. Its funny, forum classifieds are always about trust and from one car guy to another I have never had any issues and ive probably spent and sold 10-20k each way on forums. But ever 25% of the time on ebay and you get crap like this.
  11. So this is ball bearing isnt it???
  12. that's fake above isnt it?
  13. Well I want to do it but I wanted to see the general consensus to see what everyone else has done. If majority of people have done it, I probably would have. But considering most people havent I wont. It would be much easier to hide on the TT aswell.
  14. Have you done it?
  15. have no idea? I mean when I spin it, it feels ball bearing but I would never know what thrust or sleeve bearing feels like as ive never bought one.
  16. Things I have noticed: The exhaust flange has 17F stamped on the side of itThe compressor housing - pressure side has the number 3 stamped on itIt has 1c192 etched/engraved into the core where the stamp should be.right next to the oil dump and water feed it has X 1/4 stamped on itthe flanges and the oil and water feeds are not raw milled metal, it looks painted overThe oil feed sections have dents in them which looks as if its a rebuildThe wastegate flapper and arm looks painted over
  17. $1900 with custom exhaust manifold that he said cost him $300. The price was $2100 but I dropped him down to $1900. This is what im thinking...hopefully. I'll put up some more details pictures with some carvings and stamps I have found.
  18. Agreed!. On first glance I felt that the silver on the compressor housing was much to fake looking for a genuine garrett then looking at the core it doesnt have a stamped garrett badge which also got me worried. It is brand new thought. I havent had a new garrett turbo in 3-4 years so I may have forgotten what they look like and ive never had a new Garrett GT3582 and they might be different also. Other than the badge are there any other ways I can check if its a garrett core?
  19. Hi guys, purchased a turbo of a guy on ebay. Wasnt a shop that sells multiple china gear or anything like that. Was just a guy saying he bought this turbo for his BA conversion and never installed it. Can you help me find out if its fake. Only reason im thinking this is because it doesnt have a garrett plate stamped into the core which im used to most of them having. Otherwise all of it looks real including the FORD exhaust housing. I have a feeling it might be fake core with garrett compressor and exhaust housing.
  20. Yeah I can but I got this $1000 500x300x76 plazmaman second hand but never used cooler for $152 inc delivery of ebay. I can fit it higher no problem but either way a 300 or 450 will still get blocked 30-40% with that bar in the way. Unfortunatly that bar is almost flat up against the cooler. There may be 20mm between the bar and cooler, not enough to get air to flow through onto the fins. Unless you made some sort of vent that covered just that section that plumbed into a tube with air fed from the left or right sides. To much effort imo. I was never going to remove it. Not an option but I just found that every single cooler kit on the market for xr6/f6/TT's all go under the crumple bar and all have the same issue. The only way you can minimise the effect is just get a larger cooler thus taking up less % of the space, seems like a brute approach to the solution. Just thought there was another option... anyone on the TT's dropping the cooler under the bar? is there enough room? I wish, if it wasn't a daily then I would but unfortunately I need to keep it road worthy and safe. even still if you cut it out the front bar is covered over that section so it will still cause an issue.
  21. I know its not removable if you would like to keep your car street worthy/safe. But im installing my front mount this week and I completed some work on it last weekend to make it fit right and found that the crumple bar blocks a good 35-40% of the intercooler. What are your thoughts on the impact of this and has anyone sat their cooler lower or higher to get the most out of it? picture copied from the plazmaman website. I have similar cooler to the kit showed in the picture also.. Instead of mine being the plazmaman 460x400x76 used in the TT kit. I have a plazmaman 500x300x76. Both plazmaman and Tube/Fine coolers and with similar design. Has anyone completed any mods to this but still keeping it structurally safe/road worthy to maximize the air capacity of any front mount.
  22. Sure did..... He also just replied with this: From customer experience, 6 blades gives more peak power, while 11 blades provides more boost on early-mid stage. If you’re not sure what you want, I recommend stick to standard blades which is 3562C(6 blades, Tapered Tip 18°) as the differences are minor and all works well, enclosed dyno for your reference. Attached picture is his reference. I believe this was completed on a EVO 8. I asked him if it was dyno tuned or straight swap and dyno result. I will see what he says. The above dyno result was the change from 1.0 to 1.3bar and MFS3562C KTS standard billet replacement. Same fins with 18 degree tip change and its 13% lighter thus he said giving 13% quicker spool with the standard A/R .50 comp housing. Bolts straight in with no modifications to the housing needed.
  23. Do you think the change was worth it that you did on you gt3582 with 11 blade? do you think now you should have gone 6+6? or your happy where you're at? I emailed KTS turbo parts and they replied within 2 hours <----which is what I like to see, shows good business. I asked about billet wheels for our turbo's and he replied with these: Wheel 1 Wheel 2 $297 USD each I have asked him what the difference is between the two and what difference I will see on our motor eg spool, power, flow etc. he should reply soon, I will let you know what he says.
