  1. Thanks for all the help on here but decided in the end to take the cheaper way out and fit some new calipers I had for years sitting on the shelf. I made a conversion to fit the SRT8 Brembo 4 piston calipers. These are all the pieces I came up with to do the conversion. The brackets I made bolt to the back of the knuckle They are big! The rotors I used with a matching 5x4.5"pcd are from a Ford Territory Turbo and measure 340mm/13.5" and 32mm thick. They fit nicely behind my 17" rims too. You can see more detail if you want in my FB album. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150405995576898.360741.665551897&type=1&l=57769b6d76
  2. Sorry to drag this old thread up but have a quick question for you apache_dj, do you know if the calipers you got from the Turbo Territory were from a AWD or a RWD as there appears to be a difference in the calipers if you read this thread. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11250770
  3. That would be great and will look into the other section as well.
  4. The 6 pot ones actually look a little slimmer due to the smaller pistons I guess. I wonder if there is a bit more clearance with those? Looking at philmeup post on another thread with his 6 pot with 18's, appears to be just over 1/2" of clearance to the inside of the rim which is all you would need in the radius to clear 17's depending on the wheel brand, offset and if a reverse rim or not. Would so love to know the centre of hub to outside of caliper on the 4 and 6 pot. Would make checking wheel clearance for anyone looking for a upgrade that much easier. Could measure these maybe while still mounted from the centre of cap to the outside of the caliper.
  5. Not good for me then. Only found one who was running a 17"x4.5" rim with these that fitted. I dare say not much of the caliper would be within the rim being so narrow! Wonder if the 4 pot would fit with a 330 rotor then? Depending if there is anything stopping the caliper going further inboard as can make custom mounts no problem.
  6. Love to see a listing of the different brake options with details filled in like this form below.
  7. I saw that you also had the Brembo's now on your own taxi after taking these off with 18's. How much room have you got between the caliper and the inside of the rim? I saw your measurements from caliper to spokes, but after the other. What would be even better is knowing the centre of hub to furthest point of caliper, as all wheels are different depending on offset and construction etc.
  8. Has anyone ever tried fitting the Brembo calipers inside a 17" rim? Just wondering is case different offset rims and brands might make it possible at all? My wheels are offset more to the outside so the calipers would be sitting in the bigger diameter part of the rim. Also do FG Brembos also bolt on to the BA's?
  9. Thanks for the interest Luke. Got a whole web site on all the mods and trips I have done etc. http://www.go.jeep-xj.info Also there is a Hotrod build just starting using the V8 Hemi and all the running gear and interior etc from a 2008 Grand Cherokee into a 1948 Willys Pickup http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/WillysHotrod1.htm
  10. Str You are very right there and even had it mentioned in my write up linked above from years ago. Forgot the details some where along the way! Thank you for those photos Luke. They are the BF XR8 322 rotor ones and have the same caliper that I already have. You were right there.
  11. Are the ones you have red as well?
  12. Links showed up the in quote so got to see what you meant. Thanks. Looks like the Ford ones are a different casting but see people use C5 rebuild kits on them so must have the same pistons I guess.
  13. I couldn't see the picture for some reason but found these new ones on eBay and they do look different for sure. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190444135709&clk_rvr_id=285027423843&mfe=sidebar#ht_2808wt_1041 Thanks for the info. Look forward to the pictures of what you have.
  14. All the C5's were painted red, blue or black, but the BF and Territory ones were unpainted and looked like mine above as were the same caliper but on a taller bracket to cover the 322 rotors instead of the 298 standards. Are they painted like this one?
