  1. Yeah, I've thought about it a bit and realised I will probably want the turbo. Now, I have a fair few links, if anyone wants to go through them, they can tell me the one they would choose? http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12294554&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=0&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966104%204294739748&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=12&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=11002025&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=3&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966104%204294739480&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=4&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?R=11924463&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=3&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966285%204294739905&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12269986&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=5&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966285%204294739905&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12209234&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=7&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966285%204294739905&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12108934&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=8&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966285%204294739905&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__sid=1320681E1436 http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12292506&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=14&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966285%204294739905&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=16&__sid=1320681E1436
  2. Yeah, it was just one xr8 ute, the rest im looking at are xr6t's, but this ute just looked nice for its price (remembering everything in WA is a lot more expensive) http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=12294554&__Qpb=1&keywords=&Cr=0&MileageTo=752&SearchAction=N&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%20904%20752%20412%204294966463%204294966104%204294739748&silo=1011&seot=1&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Nne=15&trecs=12&__sid=1320681E1436
  3. Actually, still having trouble deciding, and comparing to XR8's to, as theyre a bit cheaper, but, I think I'd be happy with either box. Will hopefully have a new car this month! sort of looking into a BF XR8 Ute 6sp manual
  4. Yeah, exhaust noise is massive in my S14, with the coilovers set to near-hardest and turbo flutter, whine and air intake, theres a lot of noise, roughness, shaking around and.. well, yeah, its a real "throw you around" kind of experience, but it feels really racey I think I would want to get adjustable shocks, set them harder and probably have the manual gearbox, will probably get it close to the silvia experience im used to I think I've decided the manual might be the way to go, even though clutches are expensive Are the 6 speed manual BF boxes known to be knotchy or crunchy? the silvia knocks into 3rd pretty bad, when its freezing cold sometimes it wont be happy at all going into 3rd. only for the first or second shift though, then it warms a little
  5. Yeah, not an option unless I drive a brand new FG xr6, no turbo models, bf's or ba's available here :(
  6. What are the syncro's like in the 6 speed? do they engage gear really smoothly? kinda over knotching when going in gear :(
  7. will a ZF lose traction with stockish power, maybe stock with boost and tune? that could keep me entertained along with the quick shift, if not, may have to go manual, which is the reason I converted my silvia from auto to manual, no power and couldnt do anything fun with it. But if sedan vs ute just comes down to preference, then I'll probably go a ute, probably less weight on the driveline too?
  8. Hey guys! im after experiences, advice and possibly facts Im very close to selling my Silvia S14 and am now looking into the exact XR6T that I'd like My silvia had an auto, then I converted it to manual, to tell the truth, I liked both, but the manual felt a bit more racey which I liked. I also have a husky as a puppy and, well, she would have a better life if she had a back of a ute to travel in. but, if a ute is much slower or worse off than a sedan, well, its a factor im after a BF unless a BA 6 manual as I've taken a lot of advice from people. and I would only get a 6 speed after hearing much advice. im not to sure if the quickshift in the ZF box is a gimmick or a really helpful feature, but im sure you guys could tell me Any help and advice would be soo muchly appreciated. Glen
  9. Theres 10 or so decent looking BF's over east for under $20. but, of course, I wouldnt know if they're decent or not. I cant get access to more money so, perhaps time to start looking into BA's?
  10. Yeah, Theres plenty of BA's, but not many BF's in WA for my price range (about $18 000) I wont be able to get 20 grand, I think that would be stretching my money to far. 18 is still a little stretch.
  11. Yeah, I've checked one of the big WA papers, no xr6T's :( should try the autotrader, quokka and some other local papers
  12. I think I need to as well..pity there arn't really many where I live
  13. Thanks for the replies! sideways at 80? Silvia had problems losing grip in the dry in second :( im keen for ZF sequential! I'll come say hey in the WA chat, maybe some people will know of private cars for sale around!
  14. Wow, loving these replies everyone! wishing I could post more but, apparantly I have 3 posts left after this one until tomorrow :o Henz: Seems like they can make quite a bit of power very easily. But, with the extra weight, I suppose it would be slower than a jap car with that power. PookeyMaster: so, the ZF box will let you shift manually, but the 4 speed wont? whats the quick shift in the 4 speed do? or are both quick shift's completely different? I've just seen photos of the 4 speed's and seen the 4 speeds look like they have the quick shift option to the left of Drive,Reverse etc. Thanks for the KW and HP talk, that helps heaps! if the ZF box is the only one with a good proper quick shift, then, im keen. But I may have to look interstate as suggested a bit. 1600dave: yeah, I think it will be a lot different coming from a silvia that doesnt really make a whole lot of power. The XR6T's would also have more engine power wouldnt they? where as I was driving the silvia daily on 14psi, and probably boosting to 8 or so just to get up a hill. Are the ZF gear ratios a lot shorter than the BA's 4speed? Does anyone know what each gear revs out to on either/both boxes? riptide: Yeah, youre right, perhaps I should just save up my mod money and get a BF. Will save money and drama in the long run by the looks of it Thank you all!
  15. Cheers for both replies! very appreciated! Well, I really cant see myself chasing more than 330ish RWHP at all. This seems like a very nice amount of power and im guessing it can be fairly fun if need be, but also still sensible on the street? What sort of mods achieve what sort of power? Exhaust, CAI, Injectors and tune would probably make over 300RWHP wouldnt it? Sorry, again, very used to my silvia and how hard it is to make high power
