Hand wash Steve. On another note. This happened last night, along with a pb 8.57 @ 160mph.
-
Oh yeah, he's still grinning. Also, I had a good night at the track last night. PB'd with an 8.57 and also took this home.

$89 for wash and polish and interior clean. I think just a wash and polish and vacuum and wipedown inside is $49.
-
Nope. stoopid upgrade :(
-
If the missus asks. This was me. I reckon I'll get away with it.

If anyone is interested, you can follow mine and young Chris's progress on Stalkbook. Just search for the Paton Racing Team page. But I usually put sh*t up here anyway.

A proud day for me on wednesday. My young bloke did his first ever laps on his new Gixer thou drag bike. He started slowly and ended up the night with 10.92 and still being very cautious on the launch. Considering he's just stepped a LAMS 650 and had never even started this bike before he rode it around to scrutineering, he showed great caution and maturity. Buggered if I know where he got that from!

Day off work today. Going to a wedding tonight. I'm missing qualifying at the top fuel meet today but at least I get three quals tomorrow. But anyway, I'm sitting on the lounge this morning and the missus says "I need to go buy clothes for the wedding. Wanna come? I'll buy you a coffee!" I say "Fukc no! Besides, I have to get outside and wash the ute so it looks good for you when we go to the wedding" She says "Okay fine, I'll see you later on" and leaves. So I go to the garage, jump in the car and drive to Magic Car Wash and order my own damn coffee while someone else does a proper job of washing and polishing the ute so I can sit here and gloat on the internet with a large flat white.

I think we can manage that.

pics of underpants maybe?

I have to veto the 6th as I'll be getting my boost on down at the Motorplex.
-
heh I didnt get a single pic or video except of my son getting used to his new race bike. Apparently they ended up with 220 entries before they shut the gates. There was still a big line of cars that got turned away. There were plenty of guys smashing limiters in the water box and more than a couple broke stuff. Especially the very sticky right lane. No worries on the maintenenance day if theres enough interest.
-
heh. Boost night is full !! LOTS of choo choo !

Yeah Marko, AS1698 is out. The rule section on the WAW page on the motorplex website clearly says AS/NZS 1698 is required as a minimum. You could use one of mine but I spend a lot of time in them and they dont smell so good. Tocchi, you're probably aware, but ANDRA is dead in WA. Motorplex now runs under IHRA santioning. (with their own rulebook) TBH, I'm not unhappy about waving goodbye to ANDRA's $460 annual Group Two Unlimited license that I need for Comp Bike. IHRA is US$75 or something. its a PITA though if you want to compete in the east on an ANDRA track though. If theres enough interest, I'm happy to hold another maintenance day, but Tocchi is right, many small jobs are already done so it's mostly a stand around and talk sh*t day. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

AS/NZS 1698 helmet is required.

Exhaust is sorted but I raced the bike last weekend and am racing again next weekend. I'll probably still be there though as my young bloke is about to have his first ride on my GSXR1000 that we're setting up as his drag bike. Also note there is a test and tune on Wednesday 17 for the upcoming top fuel meet so the track will be good.

WAW 17th Feb is Boost Night. Anything boosted gets in to race for $20. Turbo, Supercharged or Nitrous. Probably gunna be a busy night.

1.4 seconds might as well be 1.4 years. I just looked up the results and even Rossi is nearly a second behind on what I assume is the same rig, and Marquez is 1.3 seconds. That makes me wonder about the relevance of those testing results for comparison purposes. There's no way the rest of that field would be a second or more off the pace of another rider in qualifying or a race. 0.14 I could maybe swallow, but not 1.4.

marko, did you go to WAW ?

Stoner's still just a test rider though right? I wonder what will happen if he stays around the top of the field.

Yeah I'm pretty lucky. All my toys have been put together over the years. The latest news is that Im converting the K6 GSXR1000 to a drag bike and my young bloke will be racing it in Modified Bike next season. So on the weekend we fitted swingarm extensions and a used slick from my bikea and a super low race seat. I already have the lock up clutch in it and lowering links in the rear. The Rucky Strike livery will have to go so were thinking about what to do for paint once we get some race glass on it.

Got nothing to do to the race bike and is great shed weather so I wheeled the old GSXR1216 Turbo out and am going to see if I can sort the fuelling issues and return it to the road. This bike is an absolute blast to ride but im thinking of going to a lower psi waste gate spring to make it less of an animal. With stock wheel base, it'll rotate around the rear axle in any gear. With the 3" extensions in, it only does it in the first three. Got some news on the Rucky Strike K6 1000 too later on today.

My mate is T&T-ing his bike that day so I may ride down after work and see how things are going if he stays around for WAW. Also, if its your first time, keep an eye out for Rangz, he wears an orange tshirt that says "go to guy" his job is to talk newbies through the process on the start line. Hes a great guy, let him know you know me, I race against him at the IHRA meetings on the orange bike.

Coating The Dump, Exhaust Manifold And Turbo Rear Housing?
Boganspeed replied to sprouly07's topic in Exhaust Workshop
I would think exhaust gas temps at tailpipe are more important. As I understand it, moving the heat from the headers to the exhaust pipe will make the pipe hotter and keep gas temps up and therefore pressure in the exhaust, keeping gas velocity up. At least that's how my tiny brain sees it. Lower engine bay temps are nice too.
