Had some awesome news today, and by "awesome" I mean "crap". Took my ute for 7500 service and told them they'd best have a look at the diff as its gotten real noisy just lately, with a constant hum that I can also feel through my feet from 70ks to 110ks where it goes to a frequency too high to hear. Anyway, it's rooted and another will be ordered and fitted under warranty. Hopefully in a couple of weeks. Glad it happened now though as there's lowering, big boots and a tune just around the corner !

Hahaha that's what I got too, an I-robot. It's currently in my bike room confusing the crap out of itself. Apparently, trying to navigate itself around three motorbikes and a desk is proving a little challenging for its tiny brain.

Yeah that was me mate. Bought a robot vacuum for the house and then a new iron for the missus. I know, I know, I sure know how to treat the ladies !! Ya shoulda come said hello.

I did measure it this morning and the outside measurements are more like 500 high x 430 wide. 180 deep at its deepest near the base and about 110 at the top. It also has a plastic piece mounted in the back of it that is open at the bottom that you can just see in my pic. I don't know if that's an aperture or a mount or both.

No work done to the car so far. I'll be getting a tune but won't be going as far as a fuel pump. The noise is only minor so I'm still deciding whether to live with it or pursue some sort of filtration but it's common from what I hear. It is a little annoying with the volume down low enough for conversation, The solution of course is to fit a seperate deck but I lived with that in a BA XR6 and I'm not doin' that again. Shyfrd, Check out the link for dims, the part number is A-SBR-S12T if you want to do some research. http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=251 The major win is that my 14 y/o step daughter has pronounced my ute stereo to be better than the set up in my VE Berlina with two 12's and two amps running everything. Of course it might have something to do with a 12" sub sitting 8 inches behind her, but hey, I'll take it.

I picked up my ute today from Westside Audio in Morley, WA. I've had Ken there do my last four cars so when it came time to make my premium sound in my ute actually sound premium, I took it to him. Ken replaced the fronts with some 6.5" Focal splits and also fitted dynamat into the doors. Then replaced the rears with 6.5" Focal something or others. He then added an Alpine Amp under the drivers seat and a really sweet Alpine Type R Slim 12" sub box behind the passenger seat which was actually only just recently fitted into his SS ute, but I talked him into selling it to me. It wasn't cheap but I'm hoping the quality will outweigh the cost. He also threw in an adjustment dial under the dash so I can turn the bass up or down to suit my mood or music which is cool. I would have preferred going with 6x9's in the back but I'll run with the 6.5s and see how it goes. I have a bit of playing to do to get it to sound how I think it should but I'm still concerned I won't have the punch of a 6x9. There's a bit of noise coming through the system but that's easily covered by the music. I'll see how much it bugs me before I take further steps. The guys warned me it would be a problem but I dont want to add another head unit so I will live it with for the time being and see how I get on with it.

Used Porsche Boxter. Upside is you would be able to impress the babes with your upwardly mobileness and your driving glove collection. Downside is all the dudes either think your an upwardly mobile hairdresser, or that you like the dick. Or possibly both.

Where To Put Boost Gauge In A Fg And Fg Mk2
Boganspeed replied to Pazzo's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
Mine is a Blackberry Torch with full screen. But I'm more interested in having it on my screen in the dash in my FG2. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to make that work ? -

So do you need a specific type of phone to do the odb2 thing? How do you make it work? Is it all wireless? -
Yeah sorry, computers confuse me, unless they've got pictures of tits on them.

I think that one might be a Monaro. How did you go at Fast Friday Steve ?

I'm still in.

Either night is okay for me. It's unlikely that I'd make a day run.

I've got a few. This one is a 1992 GSXR11 Streetfighter running Hayabusa pistons for 1216cc's and lower comp, Holeshot Racing blow through turbo and intercooler. Never dyno'd it so I don't know how much power it's making, but it's a lot. It's got a Z1000 headlight and a 2001 GSXR tail fitted as well as the fighter bars and various other bits. These photo's are from when it was still fresh, some from a magazine shoot. It's not so shiny looking these days. But my sh!t get's used. It was in Rapid Bikes Magazine back in....ummm dunno, a few years back. Took out their Modified Bike of the Year award which was a readers choice competition. I've since extended the swingarm for drags by 3" and raced it in Mod Bike last year, it now only wheelie's in three gears but it meant that once I could actually use full throttle for a period of time, I had fuelling problems with it using the carbs and I had a crap season with it. So I've parked it up in my bike room until I can maybe convert it to EFI. The times of low 10's never reflected the bikes potential. With a stock swingarm in, this bike will wheelstand in any gear and at any speed, WELL over 200ks. I doubt I'll ever sell it. This one is the bike I'm building up as my new race bike, It's my ex streetbike 2001 GSXR1000 Streefighter. Without making too long a list, it's got german headlight, front guard and belly pan, 2007 GSXR tail and other bits and bobs to make it special. It was featured in Rapid Bikes Magazine sometime last year This video was from Casino on the old airstrip a few years back. This was when it was black, before it was green, before it was orange. 200kph. Hving been refurbed three times, I've decided it's had enough so It's currently on the bench getting ready to be my race bike for next season, I was hoping for this season but it aint gonna make it. I've added this turbo kit with a thicker head gasket. 7psi should be around 230hp at the wheel. The kit will support 15psi and 325hp but would need rods and slugs first. What I did to it today. I only just got it back from my mates place after we refitted the motor. Added the lock up clutch. And wIth the new clutch cover fitted. Ben Shaw from Extreme Creations is making a window cover for so I can see stuff going round and round. My favourite sticker Thie one is meant to be my current road bike, a 2006 GSXR1000 but with the Ranga bike taking so long, I extended it and shortened the gearing up and it's been my racer for this season. Only a couple more meetings to go and it can go back to road trim. Best time so far is 10.32 which is okay considering I'm 135kgs and there's no plastic to hide behind when the speed gets up. This is basically stock with a PCV Power Commander, Yoshi muffler and K&N. Last but not least, My 2007 Harley Roadking Custom. I just had a 103inch kit fitted with high comp pistons and big cams which has made it a bit faster. This used to be the only stock standard thing I owned. Now I have nothing that's stock except my new T ute....for the moment. I've since fitted a cut down Fatboy guard to it.

Boganspeed replied to discostig's topic in Western Australia
I had a great night thanks ! Might need to bring a navigator next time though. Luckily the KRON knew where he was going (kinda) on the last leg or I would have been stuffed. I didn't bother walking all the way down the line of cars to watch the those kids fighting. Pissed teenagers just sh1t me. If it had been two girls however....... Steve, thanks for your efforts in setting the route. Obviously a fair amount of work went into that. -
Things That People Do On The Road That Sh*ts You?
Boganspeed replied to Vevapower's topic in Off-Topic
Being a passenger when the missus is driving and she hits every drain and pothole she can find with my 20 inch wheels and then says its the stupid car's fault. -
Just built a new house, need down lights and stuff plus some flouros fitted in my workshop and some display lights in my bike room. I buy, you install and hopefully my sh*t doesnt burn down. Will catch you about it on the cruise on Saturday week.

Gidday Josh. Can't help you with your conversion but I can help you pay for it if you're interested in some cash work.

I would think they'd use a ford or chev engine to achieve parity with the cars already in the series, I assume that's what happens with Toyota's racing in Nascar. IMO one the main reasons the class that allowed Sierra's and GTR's went out the window was because the same cars were winning all the time which, just like the Mick Doohan years, made it boring and we stopped watching. The two make series promotes close racing due to the parity rules and also appeals to Aussie's by being Falcon versus Commodore. However, as is reflected by most of the comments here, the formula has been around for a long time now and probably needs a shake up to get people interested again. Outside of WRC and British Touring Cars, I still think they are the most exciting car racing around. The formula has just gotten a bit stale.

Count me in -
I wouldn't mind coming along on the 25th. Westernationals on the 3rd so I won't make that date.

f*ck me! Mid feb from November order date ! While I was waiting for my new ute, I was told in Dec there was a delay in the manual MKII's. Maybe its still the same thing. The thing that pissed me was that they kept changing the delivery date every two weeks. I expected Ford to have sold enough cars to be able to predict how long it takes to build and deliver a car. Imagine if Caterpillar did that on a dump truck!
