Yeah turns out the tune I got isn't that good so I took it to XFT to get it done properly. Unfortunately I lose the warranty I paid extra for but I'm reasonably confident the engine and trans are going to hold up so I'll just do it. And since I'm killing my warranty anyway, I may as well get some other bits added on like a Nizpro cooler, injectors and waste gate mod. I did have to make a hasty exit from there yesterday though as my wallet was starting to whimper when we started talking about GTX turbos and bigger exhausts. Eventually, I want to see 500hp at the tyres and it still be my daily driver. Picked up two BA 17" rims from Stroller the other day, have some Nitto NT05R's on the way from Taleb Tyres. My missus is very excited about the possibility of her shoving the ute into the 12's. Just hope my mum doesnt get wind of it or she'll want another crack too!

If you're parked on a hill and the weight of the car is on the trans, this will make it bang when you take it out of park. Try it on a flat surface. I know someone who repeatedly complained to Expensive Daewoo about a car doing this and they kept saying they couldnt fault it. One day, she took me to lunch in it and when it banged as she took it out of park and said " See ?! and they reckon nothing's wrong with it". They were right, she was parked on a hill and the trans in Park was holding the car, not the hand brake.

Preferably XR6 wheels. Want them for my FG II ute for some sticky tyres. Don't really care what they look like.

Just a general question not specifically aimed at you, will_045. Unless people will be looking underneath, or you plan to keep the car for 20 years and don't want it to rust away, why do people spend all that extra money on stainless exhausts? Is there another advantage ?

Cheers guys, Skylarkz, I'm racing at the Westernationals tomorrow and Sunday but most of my passes will be during the day unless I'm lucky enough to get through into the night rounds on Sunday. Once I get the new ute tune sorted, I'll post up in the chit chat thread when I take it back down there. I'll have to fight the wife for the driver's seat though.

So what about just popping the hose off the compressor housing and squirting lube into there towards the solenoid rather than removing the battery and all that jazz ?

Awesome indeed. 30 deg + all night and high humity kept her best time to a 13.9 in perf auto. But you can bet there was a few double takes going on down in the staging lanes !! They even pulled her up on the return lane and interviewed her just before the burnouts.

WAW this week anyone ? You wouldnt believe it, but after my wife spent the night thrashing my ute down the strip a couple of weeks back, my Mum now wants a go !!! Yes, my Mum, she's (not) 74 !! So we're on tomorrow night! The sledging between the her and the missus has started on FB already. I'm going to drop the pressure in the tyres and see if the old girl can't bust out a 12.

Can anyone recommend a super awesome chassis fabricator in Perth? Am looking into getting a half chassis built with narrowed 9", 6 point cage, fuel cell and some tubbage for a possible drag project.

Thanks to Masda74 and Woody for calling in today. Masda did some boost solenoid maintenance and cleaned his air filter and Wooody's FG2 ute came in handy to measure up for cutting my new dash mat to suit my ICC mounted gauges. I stead of being stinking hot, it was pretty comfortable in the garage with all the doors open and I had a great day. I also got to have a little drive of masda's manual T which was very nice. I'll make another attempt at putting one of these on and we'll get some more guys around.

Okay guys, this is still on as I'm still gunna be here if anyone needs workshop space and a hand do to whatever they need. But without Luke and Steve, we will be short on turbo specific knowledge. We can do it again in a month or so but if anyone turns up tomorrow, they'll still be welcome to do whatever they need to do and use my tools and workshop. It'll be hot but there'll be plenty to drink and eat.

I'm 10.20's N/A. Have you got your engine tune setting on "kill mode" which you set in the test and tune section? Give you more powa ! I think I've gotten pretty much all I can get out of N/A, maybe one day I'll get a high 9. I just want to know how to step up in motor as I'm getting bored. I have plenty of money but no gold.

How do I step up in performance level ? I have my car down to low 10's and have bought everything that's available to me. But how do I get to the really fast stuff ? I just got my pro license and hoped that would open doors for me but nothing changed. I'll get bored if I cant step up to something else.
