Okay, so map is done but I'm not clever enough to email it so I'll just bring some copies. Start Point is Captain Munchies or whatever it is. Leaving 9.30 with one short stop and one long stop along the way. Finish is Bullcreek Shopping Centre at the South St/Freeway junction some time after that. Probably not super late.
Just so were all clear. The meet point is captain munchies in Freo, sing out if you don't know where that is. Meet time is 8.30 and depart time is 9.30. I'll do a map tonight and send it out to everyone...... probably. But I'll have printed ones tomorrow for sure. Finish will be SOR somewhere.
Hahaha I still laugh about that and the fact that you nearly had to drive home in the Late model camira of Shame. I don't mind doing it again at my place if no one else wants a go. Does anyone have anything to do ? I know Kyle wants to do a turbo oil line, but who knows when he'll be around ! It'll be cool when Luke's hoist becomes available so we can all burn our foreheads together.
Part of the reason for the cruise Saturday is that Tobylee is up from Albtartica and getting his car serviced during the day at MT, as am I. We could try for a late arvo start, do a dinner stop and maybe finish earlyish in the evening ? Arron can cut out earlier if needed. The risk is that one or both cars may not be completed early enough to get to Freo in time, unlikely though. TL, how flexible are you for time on Saturday? Anybody else ?
I'm in. How about the Gosnells Grand Prix, which is the loops around the tonkin/Albany highway overpass, then onto the Tonkin, turn right at kelvin road, then all the way to the end, turn right, then right again at the top of the hill at welshpool road, up around to kalamunda and then down the zig zag?
And if you drive it like a cock, then it'll have a short lifespan. I commuted in my ute every day, before moving offices and using the train now. But I'd rarely even see 5psi boost on the trip to work so it was doing no more work than a stock trans. It's all about duty cycle IMO. Same as engine life.
Heh that doesn't impress the chicks much does it ! On another note, I'm in for a cruise on the 22nd but car is getting serviced during the day so night run only for me.
Probably the best way to run in your clutch is to use it while driving your car. Cruises are not hoon fests so you don't need to worry about burning up your clutch or anything. Just drive as you're supposed to.
So just some photos of interest. This is the inside of my Turbo GSXR1000 Suzuki that I was running on C16 fuel last season. It's been stripped for a freshen up in preparation for running on methanol next season, if it's finished in time. Check out the deposits on the piston and valves. It looks just like rust and is not pretty at all. But if you think that's ugly, have a look at the exhaust ports ! Looks like I've been running it on sea water. The rusty deposits also show up in the turbo and I've actually been hit in the hand by a bit of rust that flew out of the dump pipe when I was next to the bike on the dyno ! Fkn hurt too :( Apparently this is not unusual behaviour for C16 but I have to say I won't be using it again. I'm told running it on alcohol will keep the inside of the motor super clean. Hopefully it'll keep the pistons in one piece as well.
It's a performance driving course, not a track day. So yeah, I expected to be running over witches hats and the occasional spectator, I wondered how that tied in with the circuit ! I plan to spin the wheels at least once. Possibly twice if I fit my stock wheels with the Chinese lingongs on the back.
There's a guy running a BA n/a with 6T cams and springs, 'stractors, a centrifugal blower, intercooler, T400 with a 5k high stall and no interior at kwinana drags and he runs mid 12's. He's running 13psi but don't know what hp.
