  1. With easily a couple of mill in cars and gear in there. I'm not sure they'd want me posting it.
  2. Got some spare time so heres some more pics from last night. It was a priveledge to see this stuff and then have beers and talk cars and racing with the workshop crew as well. They seemed to like my ute too. Mad Max car has got all the right gear inside and out, all the way down to a little photo of Max's wife and kid on the horn button on the steering wheel and the radio box on the roof. Super cool. Glass bodied 34 Tudor only recently completed with SBC and 6spd auto. Spotto one Blown 57 Chev with tones of custom made carbon fibre gear, airbags and everything else. And a proper bathurst Monaro. Absolutely perfect AP5 or AP6, complete with original purchase receipt in the glovebox. Unrestored. The workshop. Hq GTS being worked on by one of the guys who helped build the XBoss. Sandman Van on one hoist and the Impala on the other. They've got an engine dyno coming too. I couldn't believe the detail these guys are going to on these restos.
  3. I spent a few hours having beers in a factory unit in wangarra last night with this collection. All genuine cars including a 2dr and 4dr A9X, E49 Charger and a mad max car complete wirh fake blower built for the last movie but not used. The next door unit is a workshop with some incredibly skilled guys that do all their restos and the odd other customer car. Currently restoring a HQ GTS a 253 Sandman van and building a TT LSX Impala with Motec and reaching for 1000hp as well as building the most rediculous 2 dr pillarless 57 chev with blown chev and paddle shifters. Owned by brothers who are in property development, plant hire and other stuff. A great bunch of guys and the brother I met was an absolute top bloke.
  4. So it sounds like e85 isn't becoming more available as time goes on? I'm way too lazy to deal with the additional fill ups and planning to go away from 98.
  5. Yeah ECU. but im my case, it's a bit like giving a monkey a scientific calculator.
  6. Yeah but I was working down at the Nostalgia Drags instead. So it didn't suck too much. Speaking of drags. Another niggly top end issue caused me to pull out of the race meeting Saturday night. A valve shim moved again, which is bloody annoying. Hopefully APE can tell us what we're doing wrong with this head. It never had trouble until their spring and titanium retainers went in. But I think it's us not setting it up right rather than their parts. I'm thoroughly pissed because the index system meant I top qualified by a big margin and the track had brought the Top Fuel Motorcycle class into our bracket. So I was also up against three Nitro Harleys and a 650hp turbo alky Kawasaki. I would have won the meeting without doubt. As I was due back at the track sunday am. I got into pulling the motor back out at 5am Sunday. So now I'm back to this :( But this thing is cool !
  7. Yeah that's Morry. He mentioned that on the weekend. Top bloke and always ready for a chat.
  8. Cool. its been doing it for months but I havent had the time or the inclination to pull it out and look at it. I still havent even washed the ute since the down south cruise !! So I might do that too....maybe.
  9. If I remove my drivers seat. Will I get any error codes when I plug it back in? Something is messed up under there. It's like it doesnt lock properly into position and slides forward an inch or two under brakes. Kinda off putting.
  10. Normally I'm up around that but with all the shenanigans going on, I was only getting into the high 240s. Best MPH so far is 161mph which is around 265. But have more power now so maybe later in the season I can knock that off. Interestingly, theres a guy on stock tuned BMW S1000R running up around those speeds but with higher ETs of course. Those things are fast! But he's only probably 65kgs geared up, and can ride! His bike just ate the crankshaft though :(
  11. So here's a couple of runs from yesterdays test and tune with slow mo at the start. The bike is making about 9psi on the two step. So I'm probably throwing about 280hp at the start line. The thing is now a complete animal to ride and I had a few hairy moments yesterday. Twice in a row, at about 2/3rd track, I had to get out of it because for the first time ever, I thought it was going to hurt me. The rear end was waving all over the place at somewhere around 200 or so. So today I added about two inches to the wheelbase with a longer chain and this weekend I'll raise the wheelie bar a little more. So far its only running at 15psi out of 20 and on the only clean pass I had, I left with only 5psi and made 11psi in all the gears and still managed an 8.69. Just over a tenth off PB. The Motorplex are talking about including a couple of Nitro Harleys and 650HP Kawasaki Top Bike into our class for this Saturday because of low entry numbers. Let's hope so because those things are insane to race against! This next run started off out of control, and things went downhill from there.
  12. Great race at Aragon ! Vinales must have taken his man pills. Those first few corners were insane.
  13. Pretty much finished these today. Sexyness overload.
  14. Done ! I think I kicked a couple of goals here, if I may say so myself ! The K6 GSXR1000 below for young bloke My K1 alky bike. Not much in the way of instruments. Radiator overflow bottle. Hahahaha, this is so awesome.
  15. Wednesday coulda been me. I'm ashamed to say I still haven't washed the ute from the BWAWA three weeks ago. My spare time has been spent riding bikes and putting these beauties back together. (touching myself right about now)
  16. not me. I caught the train to work today and the missus was still in bed at that time.
  17. Wheres the cheapest place in Perth to buy a new lap top ? Am probably gunna grab one today so will probably just go to JB and Good Guys in Midland and see who is cheaperer.
  18. Not me Marco. I got a birthday party I've been told I have to attend :(
  19. Dammit. I can't go. Should be a cool event.
  20. I only use it for country runs and make sure the car was clean before it goes on. Which is why I didnt use it on the weekend southwest trip. I'd expect if it was to mark the car, it would be light surface marks which would polish out. Far better than stone chips or honky nut dents. I wouldnt leave it on for long periods though.
  21. I think it was around $400-450 from memory. It was a few years back so that may have changed.
