Nah the jumper leads weren't on right. We reset them both ends and then heard Bryan's alternator load up and then it started first try. I loved it last night, forgot how good it is to be on a backroad late at night. Was funny trying (and failing) to stay in front of Kristian and not spin the wheels or spill the boss's can of coke. Watching Steve in my mirror as he decided to take another line around the corner on the way to meet Dan. But the best was hearing my waste gate screaming as I pedalled it in second about four times after we waited for the main group off Stonefille Rd.

Mate, that is all different kinds of awesome! How are the neck muscles after a fast ride with that peaked lid?

I'm considering washing mine. Probably just end up being a five minute love session at the car wash though. We still on? More and more people signing off.

I love a night run but will turn up any time.

You could try launching at higher rpm. You may be trying to accelerate through the max torque band. So higher rpm will have you launching in it and missing the big curve upwards in torque. Takes some commitment though. Just keep trying and watch what fast guys do. Speaking of R1's. Here's the sump off an 06 that poked a hole out the front of the block on Saturday. To its credit, it's making 200hp at the wheel and has been a full time drag bike for years. Literally hundreds of laps on a stock, unopened bottom end. The owner was picking up bits of conrod and big end caps off the track. "What's wrong with yer bike?" "Piston broke" "I know you are, but what's wrong with yer bike?" -Fred Gassit- 20 years ago.

Yeah that's cool. GPS as well ? So anyway. I'm still on for 28th. Been missing cruises so will make an effort on this one. Prefer night but will be there regardless.

Fixed that for ya.

Two fingers on the clutch. Get the first light on, get low and set yourself up for the run, set your launch rpms, let the clutch out till it juuuuust starts to take up. Roll into the second light and let it go on the last yellow. Wind the gas in as you feed the clutch out. When you get it right, the launch rpms won't drop or flare up by much. You want to really drive into the clutch, not dump it and bog the motor. Your eventual aim is clutch fully out and throttle against the stop by the 60' mark. Start launching at 5k and work your way up till wheelies, then come back 500. I used to leave at 8k on my Gixy thou. But I'm a fatty.

For anyone thinking of helping Knackers out, the Final Drive workshop is in O'Connor, not far from the south at/stock road intersection. Easy to find.

I have a bittersweet love for the 14's A few years back, I had a ride on the Rapid Bikes Magazine project bike with a 1620cc Phill Tainton motor in it. Went like a good thing ! But the next year, we lost a mate on one just outside Mudgee when we were on our way North to Casino for the Streetfighters April Fools Run. RIP Bullfrog. So now one of the crew uses one as a drag bike with the same 1620cc kit in it. Turned out 170+ at the wheel and has run high 9's but could do with bigger throttle bodies to get some top end into it. We built this as a tribute bike for Bullfrog cos he was mad for the drags. He rides with us each time we hit the track. Besides the tank though, it doesn't look much like a GSX14 anymore. RS250 tail, cut GSXR front end and bars, some random fairing, cut sump, deleted oil cooler, awesome shed built side winder pipe plus a ton of other stuff.

That's good. Last few times I've been there it's been quiet. Worst I saw was early feb, would have been no more than 30-40 cars and bikes. Mate needed to rest his bike every four runs to cool it off so it didn't cook. (Deleted oil cooler 'cos drag bike)

So the Motorplex is offering 20% discount per car if you book a group of 20 or more for WAW till end of May. Probably be busting arse just to rustle up 10 cars on this forum but thought I'd mention it. Not for me though, I get down there enough as it is. But I could lend someone a pair of semi's on BA 17's. Really, you're only saving 10 or 15 bucks I guess, so its probably not worth the stress of trying to gather that many cars on one day. But entry numbers are getting light on these days so you get lots of laps now. They did $20 entry for v-dubs last night. And now they're offering $20 entry for Hybrids next Wednesday. So that'll be fully hektic :o

In for 28th cruise if it's on.
-
Tons of BP servos down that way. Look em up on the internets. I've done loads of trips down there with cars and bikes and never have issues with getting 98.
-
I'm confused. Is there a cruise or a performance driving day on the 28th? In for cruise, out for performance day.
-
Yeah I should be sweet for the 28th

So got myself a sweet new racetrailer on Friday. Spent yesterday morning fitting some racks and whatnot. Note the 6T 19's ! Then went to the track and busted this out last night ! This is my first time dipping under the class index so I'm stoked! Eliminations start tonight so hoping to go a few rounds.
