Car started making a grinding noise when changing gear. Rolling with foot off the clutch I could hear a rattle. Depressed the pedal and could still accelerate. When I lifted my foot the pedal stayed on the floor. Can't see any leaking fluid. Any ideas guys? Cheers

After playing round a bit more I think the excess noise is coming through the actual boot as it was ripped, which has now gotten a lot larger

Drained and 'then' filled through the shifter.

So I just changed the oil in my manual f6. Drained and filled through the shifter as I was changing to a short shifter at the same time. I put 4.8 litres of penrite 70w-75 in. The gearbox now rattles more than it did before. Not in neutral, but when I am driving in first and second it can be heard most, in medium to high revs. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Just replaced mine. Undo tab and turbo feed if the car is turbo and pull the pipe back gently. There was enough movement in mine to get a new o ring on. Mine didn't have an o ring at all

Here's what I'm understanding. Should be plumbed as follows. PCV (original location on rc) - catch can - check valve - manifold Is that correct? Kinda struggling to get my head around it all.

I somehow managed to miss the other thread about this in my searching :/ It still doesn't answer where I should put the can inline on the PCV circuit to maintain its factory operation though.

XRSEXT, I don't really wanna remove it completely, the vacuum from intake has its benefits I have read. Timwds so you removed the PCV from the rocker cover completely? Anyone else have any thoughts?

Hi Guys So here is the situation, I have a not so nice film of oil in all of my intake piping and I am assuming that this is from excessive blow by. Car is a 2009 F6 with 390rwkw. I want to fit catch cans to both the PCV breather and the front rocker cover breather. I am under the impression that I must run two cans as the breather is a vacuum and the PCV is under pressure from the inlet manifold. The front rocket cover breather catch can is simple enough as I plan to run a can inline with the existing hose that I have running to the intake behind the pod filter. I have also read that the breather fitting on the rocker cover is very fragile and can crack easily. Is there any trick in ensuring that it doesn't crack, such as work on it while it is still warm etc? The PCV is a different story, I plan to run an inline can again however I am not sure where I should put the can. I have read about not wanting to pressurise the can so I mush plumb in behind the PCV valve, however I am not 100% sure which that is. The first picture is the setup I plan on running unless anyone has a better idea? The next three are where I am confused as to where I should put the can inline. The last is the Catch Cans I have bought off Fleabay Any help would be appreciated. Also is there a way I can degrease the inside of the intercooler and pipes without removing it from the car? (Might be a stupid question)

I'm starting to think I could be listening for it like you said wilko. I'll just have to keep an ear on it and see if it gets worse. As long as there isn't something badly wrong. It 80w 140 ideal for the diff or should a light oil be replaced?

It's fully synthetic nulon heavy duty diff oil. The one in the gold bottle

09 F6 ute Did an oil change on the diff a couple of days ago, now I am hearing a whine from about 90kms up to 110kms. I used nulon 80w 140 and filled to the fill hole. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

I just bought the car at 58000 Last service at 55000 Oil is 5w 40 Which is what the tuner recommended. So the noise is to be expected
