  1. there's a white BF manual on carsales for $21k mate it's got G6E wheels on it (plus spare) it's prob one of the tidiest looking turbo's on carsales at the moment imo. if I was was ready to buy now id be contacting the owner for sure. but seeing as your in the market right now have a look. link Edit: not Mk2, sorry. still nice though
  2. thanks for the replies guys. also im not sure why exactly I created 2 identical threads. sorry about that.
  3. hey everyone, I apologise if this topic has already been discussed in the past. ive been doing some research on some aftermarket wheels I wish to put on my future car. they are 20x8.5, from what ive read this size will fit on a BF (series I plan to purchase) XR6T. what im wondering is what the quality of ride is? ive been driving on 18's on my current Magna for 8 years and it has also been lowered so I realise that there's a bit more road feel involved. would there be even more to expect going for a 20" wheel? im not adverse to more than average bumps etc but is the difference vastly noticeable? im more into 19" wheels however they dont seem to be a very popular size and im so far unable to find a style I like in 19". thank you in advance Mick
  4. ive stopped looking at cars until I get to Brissy in 4 weeks. there's very little on carsales for BF2's in manual in QLD so im hoping local yards or private sales are the way to go. if not then im going to book a flight to Sydney and try there for a couple of days. im determined to find one though. 4 weeks and I CANT WAIT!
  5. another quesiton Quadie. is the stock wiring good enough to run some good quality speakers (looking at a Hertz from comp and Infinity rear fill) or is it advised to get aftermarket wiring installed as well? I just plan to buy all the gear myself and take it to an installer to fit. thanks Mick

  7. hi Quadie, thanks heaps I dont think you could have explained it any better! im quite happy about the fact it'll allow my current sub's they have served me very well so far with their minimal power ive got going to them. im only looking at this option as I really want to keep the factory cd player as long as I can. im not really an audiophile, I like my music but im not someone who cranks super loud, I just like a clean sounding crisp system. and Nomis, ive seen them on ebay from the US for about $200 shipped. I had a long chat with the car audio guy from JB Hi Fi where I live and he told me to stay away from the no name brands.
  8. will the LC6 support 2 4ch amps? I had a quick read of the manual online and it shows 3 amps however they've got it wired as 1 amp for the fronts, 1 amp for the rears and an amp for a sub. that leads me to believe that I would be able to have a single 4ch amp and a single 2ch amp (6 total channels) can anyone with the LC6 verify if this is correct? just means I would have to dump the idea of 2 subs and go for a good single sub. cheers and sorry about hijack.
  9. thanks for the reply, that's exactly what I was hoping for. some input, I do like the idea of the newer car. thanks! the time cant come quickly enough, I dont get holidays until december so all this waiting and plotting is driving me nuts! ive been sold on a manual for years but if there's an auto for a bargain price I may just have to take it, ive heard nothing but great things about the ZF.
  10. my budget is around 20 also, im hoping to find a BF2 for around that or a bit less, the less I can spend on the car the more I can spend doing other things to it after purchase. coming from a bog stock Magna ive driven for the past 8 years the mods I'll be doing are all cosmetic at this point, prob just cold air to start with. ive seen B series F6's around for low 20's which may interest me also. would a BF2 T be a better buy than a BA F6?? sorry to hijack the thread but the question from OP is very similar just with my budget an FG is out of the question.
  11. hey everyone, I realise this is a very common thread title but what I am curious about is how easy is it to upgrade the speakers and amplifiers with aftermarket gear while still using the stock head unit. what I would like to do is amp the front and rear speakers and a sub in the back on another amp. no speakers would be powered off the stock head unit. I want the crisp aftermarket sound but I really dont like the look and placement of aftermarket head units into the B series dash. I also want to keep the steering controls as a result thanks in advance

hey everyone, short time lurker first time poster. just been approved for some modest money to buy a 2nd hand XR6T. I've done quite a bit of reading the past few weeks and it seems that the BFII is the one to go for I just hope my budget allows. just a few questions prior to searching im curious about. I am leaning toward the 6sp manual as all my cars in the past have been auto's and ive always wished I owned a manual. how much power above stock can the stock clutch handle before it's required to be upgraded? the power figure I have in my mind is fairly modest as I'll be coming from a 2000 auto Magna that has about as much go as a 4 banger atm. the number im thinking is around 270-280 at the wheels which I think is plenty for the moment. I look forward to officially becoming a member of the club as ive been a lover of the XR6T since they came out but only just been able to work my way into a situation to be able to afford one. thanks in advance oh and my name is Michael
