cheers guys, yeah I must admit the idea of keeping my cash and having a crack at it myself is appealing at the moment. he basically said 3hrs $300. ive never attempted a job like this before so the idea of removing the front bar seems a bit daunting. from then yeah it seems pretty straight forward.

I meant it in a sense that I may like the sound without hotdogs. but it's not a mod im completely sold on doing at all at the moment. guys on here seem to be 50/50 but the muffler place said it's a worth while mod that they've done to quite a few falcons over the years. but I'll ask for prices on both routes and if my budget allows then ill do hot dogs from the get go. im going to be dropping a fair bit of cash on the car in the next few days im not sure if ive over spent yet so exhaust is way at the bottom at the moment.

hey guys, I just bought a new pipe kit and got a quote to fit from my tuner of $300. I didnt really know what to expect with fitting costs but I was a little taken back by it given I only paid $345 for the kit. He also said that I can have a 2nd hand F6 cooler for $200 ($500 total fit) if I wanted as well. Seem about right to anyone that has had them installed? Cheers

this throttle body clean job easy on the FG as well?

I had to get bushes done only a few mths ago for road worthy and they were factory Ford jobs. I'll likely change them to SuperPro Comforts again this year. it's not the cheapest job to get done so do it right first time and save yourself good dough

no kids, but it doesnt look it but my drive way is a pain to get in and out of as is. but looks wise it definitely would look better even just 20mm lower. but my last car was super low and practicality wise it was one of the most annoying mods I did. but, this car is really only used to get to work and around the place. it actually has a tow bar that im getting removed as I'll rent a ute before I tow with my T lol im weird like that

yeah been thinking about it hey. even just a little. thinking springs over stock shocks but not 100% sure. just thinking like SSL or something, nothing too aggressive.

spoke to muffler place today about doing this mod and he said that its worth while doing if all youre after is more noise. he told me around $150 to do it, as they weld up flanges rather than just join the pipes (that's how I understood it anyway.) I really hope I dont hate it or ill be going with hot dogs shortly after. mine is auto. im guessing the auto keeping the revs pretty constant and uniform gives it a drone? I havent booked it yet I might try search some videos.

lol Paulie. yeah it's just the 1 clunk and always around the same point. between 15-30kph, I just thought id ask out of paranoia given im convinced there's something wrong with my car lol. last night I gave it a mighty boot full in perf D and high in the revs there was a weird noise that I cant really explain. im inclined to think it may have been trac control as it was still active. im not game to turn it off just yet due to some "interesting" experiences in the past. got a trans flush/heat exchanger change and pipe kit with a 2nd hand F6 cooler going in next week.

Hey guys, as the title says I get a strange "clunk" noise when taking off at low speed. It's only noticeable when the car has been sitting for maybe 3+ hours, and in drive you take off and at around 20kph there's a very defined thud or clunk from the front end. My short amount of research before work this morning has told me that some believe that's the ABS self testing? Can anyone confirm this? Or is it something I need to tell me mechanic about. Varies in volume, some days it's subtle and others it's quite loud. Thanks in advance

I got a doosey quote like that also. however this one place told me that they'll do the dump and top up the oil and put the old filter back in.....
-
that's pretty poor form from them imo to make you wait 3 weeks longer than you already have given the symptoms you've been describing. even when they do fix it I'd be complaining deluxe.

hey guys, just a quick question. I was chatting to my tuner yesterday and he said that when I get the pipe kit installed he has an intercooler from an F6 that they have left from a car that had it's cooler upgraded. he said it'll go straight in but I forgot to ask if it will need a tune? can the F6 cooler be bolted straight on to my XR6T?

ive gotten a little bit of lurch varying in severity since I've owned the car (approx 3mths.) and havent yet had the trans looked at. when cold the trans behaves quite nicely it's once up to temp that it starts lurching. it's noticeable but nothing that I havent learned to drive through at the moment. ive had the take off hesitation only 3 times in all my time with the car and everytime it happend when coming to a stop but then hitting the gas before it dropped, it feels like there's no power there at all for a moment then it comes off. kind of like taking off in 3rd or something. new symptom though :( is the rev needle "wiggles" very slightly whether driving or even idling, only moves a max of 1mm each way. doesnt do it constantly but it'll come and go maybe 10-12 times in the 6km drive I take to work. the engine doesnt sound like it's reving just the needle doesnt stay dead still very long at all. doesnt matter when either, it can be cold start up or after ive been driving a lot. getting the oil flushed asap (next week with any luck.) may have to put off the air cooler for now and just get a new heat exchanger from Ford. love the car but the ZF has me worried.

been thinking of modding the stock box recently when I throw a K&N in there. thinking a largish hole in the bottom or the side right hand side (that sits next to the front quarter panel.) would like some more noise. will probably screw some kind of mesh over the hole just to stop any debris from somehow making it's way in the box. good to know that it's worth while.

might have to grab one of these knockoff BOV's

cheers Ace, yeah from what I can gather it's definitely for Sunshine Ford. got their stamps all over it and is in one of their booklets. shame about that but I kind of figured as much.

I purchased my car privately a couple of months ago now, and upon going through all the paperwork (did briefly before buying) I notice that my car still has 2 years of dealer warranty left. the problem is it's for Sunshine Ford down on the coast and I live up in Townsville. I will attempt to contact them in regards to this on Monday, but im gathering from what the booklet says it's basically void if I dont get it serviced down there (obviously impossible) has anyone had any luck getting other dealerships to honour this stuff or should I just bury it with the rest of the paperwork and not even waste my time? thoughts would be great

Where To Put Boost Gauge In A Fg And Fg Mk2
broke replied to Pazzo's topic in Interior & Exterior Workshop
id love to get the pod that sits above the icc screen in my fg but I cant justify the $300 for it plus the cost of gauges plus install costs, would come to $1000+ where I live. -
ahh yes, thanks for clarifying that
-
cheers Panda, thought as much

I just want to clarify, if I opt to use Transmax I NEED to have a full flush performed? I've bee quoted $450 for a Transmax service which ive been led to believe is a full flush. I contacted another company which quoted me $400 for a service using Lifeguard, the person told me that a typical service only uses about 6L of oil.
