  2. ive got basically exactly the same wheels, only mine are Icon and 19x8.5 all round. they look great. they'll look sick on your black ute.
  3. I reckon you could squeeze one in there hey. I took off the turbo intake muffler to have a look at the turbo out of curosity and I wasnt able to reinstall that muffler with the new piping in place. I had to pull off the silicone joiner that was on the turbo to give myself more room.. basically was my error, I should have put it back on before we fitted and tightened the clamps up. it's an ok kit for the cost I spose, my mate said it's not the best quality polished stuff he's seen but for the price it does the job and looks the part.
  4. yeah mate. the sections that connect onto the cooler are all silicon sections so the long silicon sections are for the bottom part of the loop. there's a small non curved piece of joiner that's also the biggest diameter, it goes onto the throttle body section (very tight so maybe a bit of soapy water to help lube) the rest is pretty self explanatory just match the bent sections of your new pipe with the old ones, they arent exact but they are pretty damn close. took us plenty of trial and error as we were both flying pretty blind. my helper is a rotory master so doesnt work on xrt's much. getting the bumper off was our biggest challenge lol. but even now I fixed up a disconnected indicator and got the bumper off and headlight fixed on my own in about 30mins. feel free to pm me or whatever if you want any more info or pics. it's a decent little kit for the cash.
  5. hm ok ive got an issue, I went for a drive and the driver side indicator in the headlamp no longer works. my gf's brother was doing that side of the car and he removed the headlight completely when getting out the old pipes. im hoping that he simply forgot to reconnect a plug of some sort, I didnt unplug anything on the passenger side I just undid all the bolts and pulled the light out enough to squeeze the old pipes out. now he's gone is there an easy way to get the headlight out without having to remove half the front end again? PS we didnt disconnect the battery as I wasnt aware he was going to completely remove the headlight assembly. could this possibly be a fuse that's popped?
  6. new kit fitted! did it with my gf's bro in about 3hrs. saved myself $300 in the process. we were both kind of flying blind for a while there but once you figure it all out it really isn't that hard at all. cheers guys for recommending me do it myself. is much more satisfying also, I feel like I know my car so much better now. thanks again
  7. yeah when I had a look under the car it came off the cat and split into 2 x 2 1/4 pipes then back into a single 3" so my the mod was just the single piece of pipe into the rear muffler.
  8. they have that type. but the one he showed me was like and ive no idea if these are essentially the same or not. also I apologise for my rather primitive description, my knowledge of exhaust products is extremely limited as is apparent.
  9. ok yeah it appears I may have just misunderstood what he was talking about. the thing he showed me had a chamber inside and was baffled up like a muffler, then he also pointed to a chrome tube piece that was basically straight through bar some "mesh" type steel running down the centre.
  10. Update: So just got back from the muffler shop, they have chucked my centre muffler. I said what about a hotdog they said they can do that or put in a 3" resonator? which he reckons is the same as a hotdog but does a better job.. can anymore comfirm or deny this point? it's going to cost me an extra $100.
  11. yeah it's an acquired taste imo. straight pipe sounds like those bongo VN's you hear getting around with clapped out exhausts. in my opinion.
  12. mate I know hey. I took the advice of the guy at the shop as well. I mentioned adding a hotdog and he was pretty quick to squash that idea. he was adamant that it wasnt required. I had a bit of a whinge as when the guy did it he didnt have my rear muffler braced properly and it now sags about 2 inches lower than it did from stock claiming that "this was as good as it could get as I have a towbar" I think they knew I was pissed off but I left work for a couple of hours to get it done and I was gone half the day so I really didnt have time to go on about it. he's reinstalling it for free. low rev acceleration is pretty unbearable hey.
  13. had my centre muffler removed last week. have given it a week and I just cant get used to it. have organised to have the muffler put back in tomorrow.
  14. same, blocked mine off this arvo before I went to pick up the mrs from work to have a good at some comp surge and not noticeable at all really unless you give it a bit. vented it again just then, literally less than a minute to do. I actually prefer and am used to hearing the bov breathe now.
  15. no worries, I work right across the road so ill have to keep an eye out for your F6. you'll see my greeny parked out front to also Paul supplied the oil as he buys Transmax in drums he said.
  16. got it done by Paul at Whitehouse St. mate. they'll use whatever oil you want them to but they said they've done all of them with Transmax in the past. but if you can source Syntrans or Lifeguard they'll happily use it for you. he was also able to get the whole service kit locally so filter, gasket etc. I dont know if you were getting much lurch but that's the most significant change. even after a flogging it doesnt lurch at all.
  17. yeah that's exactly it. you get 4 chair stops in the pack I bought so if I want to block it'd be a 5min job also. but I can basically imagine that blocking would simply replace the woosh with compressor surge. may do it for a day but I think it could annoy me.
  18. did this mod about a month or so ago now, it's vented which sounds ok. just make sure you listen to music in the car often because with the radio off and windows up it can get old pretty quick. in the cabin you'll hear it almost every time you come off the pedal in varying volumes given how much boost you use. appears to be mainly in the cabin with windows up. sounds good when youre giving it heaps though. best thing is it's reversible if you get tired of it.
  19. thinking of doing the fogs in black and the lower lip. how does it go when washing the car? just take it east on that part or just hose and chamois it and dont scrub it at all?
  20. just another thing id like to add, the flush and service has all but eliminated the 2nd to 1st gear lurch I was getting which was noticeable. this is probably the thing im now most happy about. when coming to a stop you can barely feel the down shifts, even into first. very happy! may try Syntrans next time I flush, just tuner recommended Transmax this time.
  21. got my ZF flushed with Transmax Z today. didnt take it for a flog or anything but it appears to have fixed the rev wiggle issue I was having prior. guy said that the old fluid looked pretty gross, it was all brown and quite runny and smelled burnt so was worth doing. only real thing ive noticed that's quite different is the hesitation when giving it juice. it just drops and goes now rather than slightly hesitating. the gear changes in D also feel a little firmer with much less slip and flare which is also good. so far im happy!
  22. xr6 turbo developments, I was about to buy the herrod kit for $570 but thought id have a quick look around and found the XR6TD kit for $345 on ebay free shipping. so I grabbed it.
  23. yeah mate, I totally agree. id rather do it right first time than have to go back because I was too cheap. with the hotdog option, im guessing 1 per pipe is required? would these work?
  24. my gf's brother owns a pretty worked up RX7 so he said he'll lend a hand. totally different car but he does all the work on his car himself so he knows his way around an engine/turbo related stuff.
  25. yeah going to give this pipe kit a crack myself.
