  1. ok, pick any standard question asked 10 times a day, I prefer to search, and have no issue mining old posts for info, plus I find this topic a lot more interesting
  2. Bit more of an interesting than seeing the top ten latest posts all being about which springs to run in my new FG,
  3. any updates on a modern version of this?
  4. How have the batteries held up since then?
  5. So I have just got myself a 2006 XR8 magnet ute, tuned engine and auto ecu's, full loud exhaust, so now that I've gotten it back to a roadworthy state. I'm looking at upgrading the stock sound system to something with a bit better quality. I spent all last night reading through countless topics on speaker selections, upgrades etc, when I'm home tonight, I'll spend some more time on speaker selections, front speaker upgrades etc As it is right now, it has stock 5x7" paper cones all round, with an Aux input plug in kit, along with an Alpine 12" type S sub and amp behind the passenger seat, spliced into the rear speaker output on the ICC (according to what the previous owner told me) My plan is to do a budget upgrade, nothing that requires a new amp to power the speakers, no fancy splicing of anything, just a simple easy upgrade. However, my initial plan is to sound deaden the whole ute using this product http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172151413208 It's a cheap option, 50% more than Dynamat bulk packs, I'll strip the interior and do the inner and outer door skins, floor, roof, rear section, anywhere I can fit some basically, and probably have leftover for my Datto too, and at $175 it seems like a good choice. Next step would be to just replace all four speakers with some bolt in 5x7" replacements like these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172151413208 I dont want anything too powerful for the ICC to control, or too large to make fitting them a custom task, cutting metal for speakers is something I hate doing. Other option would be to replace the 5x7" speakers with something like these in the rear http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121952384412 Having read last night that the stock rear speaker mounts rattle with anything better than stock in them, this might be a simple rear upgrade, then decide on what I want for the front. Are 6x9" mounts even worth considering seeing as I have a sub already? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/222034785929 I feel that with the sound deadening and the coax 5x7" speakers all round, totalling $325, I think I'd be pretty happy with that upgrade, correct me if I'm wrong, the next step would be to replace the front door speakers with some splits, but that's where I'd probably have to add an amp to power them. More research required here. Any input on my choices would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  6. Can you not get it engineered firstly then inspected?
  7. Which blog of his? I've read a couple but both were vague about what he's done to it
  8. That's a damn nice power output! They mention that the exhaust is custom but does anyone know who made it, if it's a brand etc, as it looks amazing
  9. I've lived all previous ones so far and do enjoy fantasy rpg's. I might get it, but probably not straight away
  10. I read that he didn't want to touch the guards of his brand new ute, but he must've rolled the lips at a minimum. I'm more than happy to though
  11. After some more spare time spent searching I have found some good specs. 18x9.5+12 in the front and 18x10.5+12 in the rear thanks to nigels BF ute (PNUMTK) no guard work, just firm suspension and camber. I don't need or want 19"s or 20"s
  12. NIGEL has done it again, that is exactly what I was after, and guess what his other car is?! A Silvia I've been using the search function, I hate starting new topics when it's been covered before, but I'm currently only on my iPhone, and it sux to browse
  13. I personally wouldn't pay $2g for a full set of them, they better be a light rim then Black roof would look good too
