  1. Hey all Just got an FG manual turbo sedan mk2 2012. They're pretty good cars! Contemplating modifying it before the warranty is up.(injectors, chip and cat only - aiming for about 300rwkw) Sounds like the most common issue is the diff bushes. What is the approx hours/cost of labour to do this and also the cost of upgraded items if you had to do this job outside warranty - how many bushes need replacing? Do the upgraded items minimise axle tramp? Nice responsive power stock but almost too refined hahah
  2. Thanks guys. Yes it was an r35 gtr so it is a purpose built performance machine (totally different animal).. As you say not much room in back seat at all. I Will probably end up getting an xr6t and doing the above. .. It was quick but with the auto and being a heavy car didn't feel that engaging. But they are a good car to live with on a daily basis. Maybe the manual may appeal to me more. Budget is about 3k or so. Planning to use f6 injectors
  3. Currently have a skyline and looking for a family car so been seriously considering a fg xr6t manual and doing the following: - f6 injectors - intercooler piping - cat pipe - tune Hoping that would get to about 290rwkw Unfortunately I took a GTR for a test drive on the weekend so everything now seems slow. Test drove an autoFG F6 310kw Today which I wasn't that impressed with. Main idea of testing that was as I thought it may be similar to a moded xr6t Can anyone give me a view on those sorts of mods for an xr6t and whether it should be much better than the f6? I'm in Brisbane so if anyone knows of a tuner that may have a demo car or something ? Or any other ideas on seeing what a moded one is like. Many thanks
  4. Hi I know the manuals are only rated to about 1200kg or 1600kgs and not 2300kg like the autos. It seems that the main reason is to save the clutch. Is it possible to safely tow a car trailer with a 1400kg car? So I guess would be about 1900kg total Only looking at one off trips. Would this burn the clutch real quick? What is needed to make this legal? I.e would there be issues with insurance? Thanks
  5. Guys. Is there much difference between the capa box and xcal3 for fg.? Do most people just get the xcal3 - what is the benefit?
  6. Ok. So I take it these kits are same size piping just better quality. So if after the tune down the track the stock ones blow you just replace with the coolworx or similar and there is no need for retune? Cheers
  7. Thanks guys! Will most of the other gear hold up you think? I.e. would like to keep stock intercooler piping, valve springs and exhaust (besides cat). What is stock cat good to? Will have to look up 52lb injectors also if cant find f6 fg injectors..
  8. LookIng to get some 42lb stock injectors from an fg f6 for the xr6t fg as an upgrade. Where's the best place to get them new or 2nd hand? Are they Bosch ? Do they come up often 2nd hand Others have said 60lb etc but when you call some tuners they seem fussy on what type. I see there is a thread on injectors but didn't seem to mention much about the 42lb. How much do you need to spend? I've seen 60lb for about 350 but they seem to be full length. I want straight drop in. Also It seems a big variance in tune prices. I see bullet performance send a performance tune with xcal for 795. I guess it is still a good idea to check on the dyno. Thinking of 1. swapping injectors (guess I would need the xcal loaded with a tune if I swap injectors myself in order to drive to dyno) 2, put a venom hi flow cat pipe 3. Get a tune Hoping that will yield close to 300rwkw? It seems some get 280rwkw with just a tune only. Is that rare I.e some of the comments here seem to indicate 250rwkw is close to limit of stock injectors Thanks all
