  1. Anyone got a harmonic balancer puller I can borrow for literally 5 min? Theres beer in it for you?
  2. Hey guys, I need to take my timing cover off my 04 Turbo. Only done 103,000kms. I will replace water pump and gaskets. I wanted to get advice, should I replace timing chain and tensioner guides while I am there? What sort of life is reasonable for these parts?
  3. Anyone interested in loaning me the atomic valve Spring tool? Happy to pay in beer? atomic won't give it too me because I have someone else's valve springs!

  5. Dudes & Dudettes, I have replaced my diff bushes to superpro comforts and since doing it my diff is singing its tits off at all speeds and gears, so it time to do something about it. It has a heap of backlash in it. What options should I consider? Just a rebuild and get the gears lapped and reset up or is this a waste of time? I know the trutrac is an option but not keen to spend a fortune is there is another option. The car is a auto BA MKII Turbo with 100,000kms on it. Running 11psi. Let your knowledge spew forth!!
  6. Well got it back together and started it.................Sounded like it had a top fueller cam in it! Started it a couple of more times and it was fine. I am assuming it need the oil to come back up into the phasers at reasonable pressure. Now she is fine!! Thank you to everyone who helped out, this forum rocks!!
  7. yes that's where I started but I am not getting back to there after 38 rotations
  8. I started at TDC of No #1 cylinder. All 4 marks aligned as per pics above. I thought that after 38 rotations of the crank all 4 should be back in the same spot aligned as per the pics, or am I reading the WSM wrong?
  9. So I rotated it and it does t come back to align the marks after 38 crank rotations. Am I F***ing crazy, or can this happen

  13. Ok got the puller for the balancer How do you go about pressing the balancer back on? Cant hit it on and I was told not to use the bolt to drive it on.

  16. The manual says sump off. Do I really have to take sump Off to get front cover off?
  17. yes I am sure the chain moved on the sprocket
  18. I was suspicious that the phasers might have moved whilst I was putting the chain back on. Is this possible?

  20. I have really stuffed up. I went to do valve springs and have messed up the timing chain vs camshaft! Help needed. How do I get back to the correct timing chain position
